I will definitely be supporting this and looking forward to future developments.

I'm really excited by where Plasticity is heading - I picked it up as soon as I saw it was available! A couple of things I'm really finding missing are a concept of a timeline or history for features (ala F360) and linking between curves and the solids created from them (so the solid is updated when the curve is changed) - are there plans for implementing these in the future? Between the two, I'm finding that Plasticity is requiring me to do a lot more up-front planning so I don't back myself into a corner. In CAD I can just go back and make changes earlier in the timeline, but in Plasticity I'm often stuck with my choices it seems.
I agree. The lack of a timeline is the only thing preventing me from buying this immediately. The modeling tools look super intuitive and the software seems promising, but I don't think I can use a tool without being able to go back and edit old geometry. Looking forward to seeing how the tool evolves!
This program is amazing!! I only used it for 30 mins and I love it!! I have been wanting something like this for so long... And here it is! Please keep up the good work. I can't wait to see what else they come up with.
Absolute fire! I despised CADs for artistic work, even having experience in multiple ones, because of "oh no mate you overextruded this small area, now I'm going to collapse your whole model". Fusion 360 is especially guilty of this. But Plasticity? It will finish the operation I'm asking no matter what. You've fixed the whole "artistic CAD" problem while also speeding up the workflow for artistic applications. Can't wait to play with it after seeing what can be done.
I love what you've done with this software. The interface, focus on keybinds, kernel, and general speed of getting ideas down is awesome. I've used CAD packages like NX, SW, and Fusion for over 15 years and I can see where this fits in the market. But coming from a traditional CAD package - Not being parametric seems like a rough one for me. No timeline, constraints, editable dimensions/features etc, means that products that you intend to manufacture and possibly create revisions of in the future will be difficult without re-modeling certain features of the design.. Do you plan to introduce any of these features in the future? or is the intent to keep it primarily direct modeliing? I think the main audience for this will be hard modeling for blender/animation/home 3d printing purpose and a massive upgrade for those coming from sketchup. PS: If I'm mistaken on anything, let me know! This is just my initial reaction based on what i've seen so far.
@Bernard Lemay I downloaded the trial and no, it's not parametric. It's direct modeling only. This doesn't take away from how good the software is, it's pretty impressive, actually, but maybe not a good fit for manufacturing users.
But maybe it's better for it to be focused for the artistic side rather than trying to include engineering/ manufacturing side so it maintains the highest level of quality and ease of use for the audience it is made for, right?
@@austinshaner Whether it's this one or another program, I hope you get great alternatives sometime soon. I intend to start using CAD for hard surface modeling to cut down the topology struggle, hoping this one will be an amazing software on the long run.
3D Printing just got WAY easier. I needed this so badly and to see the upcoming Blender integration is HUGE. The simplicity here is on par with Apple products. Bravo and I will definitely be testing this software out and look forward to it's continued development.
I love seeing new apps by unknown devs, this is what it's all about- and I really love artist-leaning badboys like this. I'll hopefully open up some time this month to play with it. Looking great so far- congrats big!!
Absolutely amazing work, congratulations! I just started out learning how to 3D model, but was let down by all the shading issues in Blender and the slow workflow in other CAD programs. I've given up several times, but Plasticity removes so much of the frustration and really motivates me to keep going. Thank you!
As a long time MOI3D, Rhino and Blender user with Plasticity a dream is come true. It is intuitive, easy to use and capable of handling even larger Models. My respect for what you have done! Having Parasolids at hand even with the studio pricing is a game changer for me. Beside that Plasticity beats MOI even in its meshing functionality. Again man, excellent work. I will definitely support your astoinishing work!
@Joshua Merrill thatts what sold me as well! It will be amazing to finally have a workflow to model something usefull for 3Dprinting, add texture to it in blender and print it off.
As a software engineer, really love what you do, bought the indie license even though my 3D modelling is limited to a couple of FreeCAD hobby projects and I don't have a good use for Plasticity in mind. Would appreciate some tutorials, I could even bevel multiple edges to the same value 😅
This is probably what I would need to fully invest. Tutorials based on the needs you said the software fills. I use Fusion exclusively because I have not taken the time to learn blender. There are so many tutorials for both apps that I should know Blender by now. Its just very different from Fusion.
Have been keeping my eye on this for a while, and finally decided to invest a bit into it. Unfortunately a lot of the videos on YT are based on old builds with UI changes. The UI looks very discoverable (I really appreciate the KB shortcuts being listed basically everywhere), but it would still be useful to have some documentation available somewhere. Did I miss a link in the interface? I know it's early days, just felt like mentioning it.
Thank you so much, you are a hero. It is so frustrating that all software is trending to subscriptions and it is making it so hard to spend a reasonable amount of money for creative work.
plasticity is the best , this is amazing , but you have mentioned Siemens NX and blender , inside Siemens NX there is an environment which called realize shape which is polygon modeling in the other words ( which actually every subdivided polygon became a patch surface ) , if you just be able to take the polygon model from blender and turn it into nurbs ( like nx realize shape or rhino subD or catia ) it'll be revolutionary , and also keep it up we love and support you ( before you'd be reach 😅)
Another hobbyist here didn't even try it yet but purchased it after watching videos about the product all day. Only purchased the base so far until I start working with it so hopefully there's a nice upgrade path once I start using it more. Looks fantastic though I can't wait for my first project.
Hooray! Blender is even better with plasticity. Just kidding. I was waiting for the release and I'm really happy that you are willing to communicate with artists.
This is one of those amazing projects that has the potential to shake up the entire industry. Well done and Godspeed! Perhaps you could consider offering a subscription plan with most of the features, but also provide accessibility to those with low incomes, so that they can still contribute
I use with cimatron designing plastic injection molds at work. Its sketcher, chronological feature tree, double click updates, and ability to bounce from surfacing to solids are great . At almost $10k a seat it's a little out of my personal price range though haha. Is there a feature history/ tree/ list in plasticity that allows you to "travel back in time" and insert to edit or add features before others? This looks like an amazing option that I'm super excited to try for 3D print models.
This looks awesome! I'm really excited to give it a try. Autodesk/Dassault currently has a bit of a death grip on higher education software system use. I'd recommend trying to make a big push to get your software into student hands in whatever way possible - their adoption could greatly help your long term goals for the software.
I've gotta say, As a professional propmaker who's worked on projects like the recent starwars shows and all sorts of movies from marvel to D&D, I'm seriously impressed with this software, the tools and functions are incredibly intuitive, I only had the software for about an hour and had learned most of the functions I need and a few hours later I had already designed a detailed scifi rifle that's ready for 3D printing, I'm going to be switching to this as my default program instead of blender. serious props on creating this powerful tool.
I love the way you've gone about making this software. Everything is streamlined and feels like it plugs directly into the hardsurface part of my brain. And I'm looking forward to getting my hands on that instance feature. It looks awesome 👍

And while I’m glad I added that skill set, I always say to myself, I wish we had a 3D cad suite built for 2D creatives. Sketchup was great, Blender and Zbrush were tough to learn, but this right here blows me away and you have my full support for one simple fact-NO SUBSCRIPTIONS! Can’t wait to buy and try and hopefully refer to every 2D artist in my circle!

This looks incredible, I'm downloading it now to give it a spin. If it has a few of the features I specifically need, I'm sold. Thanks for all of the hard work and the reasonable pricing model for creators, I'll be supporting the project for that simple fact alone
I have found my way to Plasticity after spending many years in Blender. I am in love with the workflow and ease of use. My first few times getting stuck in Plasticity where actually kind of delightful because I would think to myself, if I were in Blender I would just do "Scale, on X, with a value of 0" and it would fix the issue, and it just works as expected. I am still kinda blown away that I can find my way around without in-depth toturials and without reading the manual.
Nick, awesome! Congrats on a really solid first release. Been using my copy all day, really enjoyable to work with; I can’t wait to see where you take this.
I myself have been a 3D enthusiast over 30 years but still find troubles learning too many functions and technologies while I am getting older and older. RUclips algorithm brought me to this video and thanks google!
Wow, awesome looking CAD, i would like to ask if there is possibility to texture various surfaces ( not only flat ones ) / objects using vector file - for example adding custom engraving to the object
Ever since i began 3d modelling I've been asking: "why hasn't someone developed a software that is surface based and allows you to model as if you're holding clay by an algorithmic approach to building up a model with full creative freedom, instead of being bound by picky, highly technical and limiting topology based modelling? Aren't computers powerful enough by now to handle something like that?" This is my dream 3D software! You best believe I'm grabbing a copy to add to my pipeline! This is amazing and I can't wait to experience it for myself! Thank you so much for developing this! Also, BLESS YOUR HEART FOR OFFERING A PERPETUAL LICENSE AT A PRACTICAL PRICE! Always far more inclined to buy a digital product when it has a perpetual license and won't force you into a subscription or licensing contract. That's a huge game changer for something like this. This is the modelling software the world needs for productivity and to expand creativity! Plus the blender pipeline auto update is an amazing feature. I could really see Reallusion getting behind this, given all the steps they're taking to modernize modelling and animation. You have my support!❤🎉 ~Sethery
My man, this is remarkable!!!!! I'm a Shapr3D user who transitioned from mesh/poly modeling and it has been difficult to achieve the same type of organic results I'm after. Plasticity looks literally like *the* program I need to be messin with. (And *NO SUBSCRIPTIONS*?!? YES! Almost makes me nostalgic! ;) )
Looks great, I'm excited to see this released. Thanks from all the hobby cad designers and maker/builders out there. I don't know if it's in this product yet, but having the ability to things like screws or parts library type stuff would be very helpful. (m3 bolts, 2x4's, imperial screws, extruded aluminum profiles, stepper motor sizes, drone standardize size parts, etc.)

Hi Nick...I've been following the "Plasticity" project from the beginning and I'm fascinated by the power. I haven't worked with it for a long time, but now I bought the indie version without looking at it. I'm going to do my best and wish you the best of luck.
One thing I find frustrating is the lack of feedback when something doesn't work. I'd like some (non-intrusive) on-screen message when I try to use a tool doesn't support the current selection instead of just being ignored. Similarly, when a tool doesn't like the given parameters it only shows a red border. Some more information would be nice. A simple feature I'd like to see is an undo list (not an actual timeline). Sometimes it's hard to tell whether I've already undone the correct step and as far as I can tell, there is no redo. Having a simple list of the names of the tool used in an undo step would be helpful. Don't get me wrong though, Plasticity is absolutely fantastic, impressive piece of software, but given all the other positive comments I think that's already clear.
I've been watching the many updates. What a wild ride. This is an elegant tool that has one of the best flows I've ever seen in 3D. And what a reasonable, approachable price point. Congrats on release!
I'm currently using the 30-day trial, and will absolutely be buying it when that's over. I want to use it as a tool for modelling hard surface instead of Blender, but I don't yet know how to get from Plasticity to Blender, and then to Painter, with the least amount of hassle (I'm a complete newbie when it comes to UVing etc., and I've not even tried Painter yet - I know, where *have* I been, right!?). Anyway, I see folks using it in this way, so it must be possible. Also, I'd planned to buy the $99 version, but after hearing you talk about development, and support, I'll go for the $299 version instead, even though there's only one of me. Whatever helps Plasticity become even more awesome, and support the team building it! Thanks.

Well cad is cad I don’t want to overpromise ! But I’m trying to make it as easy as possible
I was a Fusion360 user and share your pain, very nice workflow too. And no more huge subscription price.
Great idea to combine plastic and CAD, that's exactly what was missing !)
It's not parametric?! Thanks, I was about to start my trial... I might skip on this one.
@Velstorios yep! For the target audience, it's fantastic. I was just hoping it would be a good alternative in the parametric/manufacturing CAD scene.
Brilliant use of the “Oh, and there’s this” great product and presentation
Absolutely amazing work, congratulations! I just started out learning how to 3D model, but was let down by all the shading issues in Blender and the slow workflow in other CAD programs. I've given up several times, but Plasticity removes so much of the frustration and really motivates me to keep going. Thank you!
Can you explain more about all the shading issues in Blender?
Congratulations on the launch! Love where you're headed with this and wish you much success!
WIll plasticity also be able to support parametric design and timelines? I find that for me that is an absolutely essential feature in cad for me.
Amazing! Already bought the indie version. That Blender bridge looks like a game changer.
I want that Blender Bridge too! So amazing that you developing that as well! 🙏
@Joshua Merrill thatts what sold me as well! It will be amazing to finally have a workflow to model something usefull for 3Dprinting, add texture to it in blender and print it off.
100% love this. Where has this been!? This needs to be in every 3d print forum!
*3D forum
As a software engineer, really love what you do, bought the indie license even though my 3D modelling is limited to a couple of FreeCAD hobby projects and I don't have a good use for Plasticity in mind. Would appreciate some tutorials, I could even bevel multiple edges to the same value 😅
This is probably what I would need to fully invest. Tutorials based on the needs you said the software fills. I use Fusion exclusively because I have not taken the time to learn blender. There are so many tutorials for both apps that I should know Blender by now. Its just very different from Fusion.
Yeaaahhh!!!
Happy to be onboard as a user!!!
Plasticity is the software I've wanted for so long!
Thank you Nick for making that possible.
No really tho! Blender is bette with Plasticity! 😂
as soon as my next modeling booking comes in, I will get this magnificent piece of software. thank you so much, nick!
This is one of those amazing projects that has the potential to shake up the entire industry. Well done and Godspeed! Perhaps you could consider offering a subscription plan with most of the features, but also provide accessibility to those with low incomes, so that they can still contribute
Save your money and buy something or pay for it forever. Tell me what's cheaper?
Congratulations and all the best Nick!
I bought it last week, SUPER hyped for the Blender bridge!!! Keep it up, you're doing great!
I love the way you've gone about making this software. Everything is streamlined and feels like it plugs directly into the hardsurface part of my brain. And I'm looking forward to getting my hands on that instance feature. It looks awesome 👍
I’m a 2d artists (comic books and anime) and I had to learn 3D to add into my workflow pipeline.
Well, it is still a recurring model.
For $99 , you'll only get 12 months/1.x updates. For major release like 2.0, you have to pay again 🤦♂️
What a fantastic product, and no subscription model? Yes please! I absolutely intend to purchase the Studio version, as soon as I get my modeling company up and running in the next couple weeks. Thank you for providing an alternative to the Megacorps!
I found out about this program at the perfect time. Thank you for such an amazing program that's very easy to learn. And no subscription! I will gladly purchase
Plasticity is the best solution for me. Need some 3d stuff but not my job. CAD softwares are too much expensive for my needs and ... Tada ... Plasticity. You are genius. THANK YOU.
Just downloaded the free trial of Plasticity and it is for sure amazing. Definitely will be buying and supporting.
Not being a subscription service really makes me purchased the plan. Keep it up!
Hands down the best modeling tool and ultimate tool it will become! going to purchase Studio to support you guys. keep it up!
Congrats Nick! I bought a copy right away! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for supporting Linux! I've been looking for a long time for a native Linux client...besides FreeCAD
Bought the Studio Version yesterday. Stunning software and I can't wait to see what Nick and his team continue to do with this amazing tool!
Congratz! ITs been really fun following the development of this.
I myself have been a 3D enthusiast over 30 years but still find troubles learning too many functions and technologies while I am getting older and older. RUclips algorithm brought me to this video and thanks google!
Great pricing! Will buy the studio version right away. Thanks a lot for your hard work!
Happy to buy the Studio version - great work - looking forward to working with it.
Been waiting for something like this to crop up for years, incredible stuff!🔥
Wow, awesome looking CAD, i would like to ask if there is possibility to texture various surfaces ( not only flat ones ) / objects using vector file - for example adding custom engraving to the object
Nick, you are doing the Lord's work. Don't ever stop, aim for the sky
This is frigging awesome looking. I have recently was interested in this kind of stuff and RUclips decided to feed me this video.
Lets goooo!! Congrats and cannot wait to see what’s in store for the future :D
Really excited, please don't you stop working on it....
You have my support!❤🎉
~Sethery
My man, this is remarkable!!!!!
I'm a Shapr3D user who transitioned from mesh/poly modeling and it has been difficult to achieve the same type of organic results I'm after.
Plasticity looks literally like *the* program I need to be messin with. (And *NO SUBSCRIPTIONS*?!? YES! Almost makes me nostalgic! ;) )
P.S. The fact that you even mentioned "kitbashing"... I'm more than sold. :)
Congrats! really happy to see that the stable version is final out and glad you manage to create the camera cuts which is something I've been looking for and all the other amazing features. it is finally time to jump on Plasticity, and I am looking forward to see where you will take it next
I'm gonna support you in this endeavor and purchase the Studio version. Thank you for your hard work and efforts. I wish you all the best in making this software everything you want and more.
Congrats!! Your future will be bright! Btw the Blender bridge is looking awesome!!
That's cooooool!Plasticity has improved my productivity dramatically and I look forward to future developments!
will definetly support this amazing software and its developers! We going to the stars ,guys,as a artists!
the product and the logo especially, looks incredible.
Big respect on the pricing. If this was a subscription model I would never touch the product, likely going to buy it now.
I've been researching which software to use to learn CAD. I am using Linux and most softwares except of Blender don't support Linux. Therefore, I am giving yours a go. The linux community will love this. Thank you
Hi Nick...I've been following the "Plasticity" project from the beginning and I'm fascinated by the power. I haven't worked with it for a long time, but now I bought the indie version without looking at it. I'm going to do my best and wish you the best of luck.
Super hype and happy with you and the teams hard work! Excited for everyone else to get a chance to play around with Plasticity!🎉
I've tried a few apps in the 3d design realm, never really got too far to be honest. But THIS is going to be my new project!
damn, I wasn't ready for that audio ramp...... Software looks great, I can't wait to try it out.
Thanks.
