    this is the best software ever created in the entire 3d industry, crossing the limits of Nurbs, Mesh and parametric modelling.

      I'm looking for something to replace Shapr3d - it's so expensive and Fusion is clunky.

      I don't know any other parametric 3D CAD that is as simple as Shapr3D. Plasticity is excellent if you don't need parametric history. The studio version costs only slightly less than Shapr3D, but you get a perpetual license, you just can't update after a year, but the software stays functional.
      Solidworks for Makers has an excellent price/performance ratio - yearly subscriptions cost only 50USD.
      But if you don't like Fusion 360. I don't know if you'll like Solidworks. The interface is similar to other parametric 3D CAD.
      As for Shapr3D and Plasticity, I have both and neither is ideal for me. I miss the history in Plasticity and Shapr3D doesn't have very good surface modeling.

      Yknow, Rhino3d is better. Plasticity because it is free generated enough clout to be relevant, however, the likes of Rhino3d are far better and more advanced

    Great video! I wish I had a use for plasticity, but I haven't been modeling for ages, and I'm a game designer so most of the benefits would take a long time to tweak once you convert it into poly geo.

    Plasticity has been my favorite modeling software since the day it came out. But I recently returned to Fusion for robotics work; because plasticity still lacks some necessary features I've been requesting for mechanical design.

      @@alkeryn1700 I wouldn’t really compare Fusion and Plasticity as direct competitors. Plasticity’s workflow and pipeline are more similar to Blender. But who know maybe in the future, a comparison between Plasticity and Fusion will make sense.

      You're right, you need parametric modeling no matter if you are an engineer or an artist. Rhino is parametric with grasshopper and it does what plasticity does.

    I don't see the benefits over fusion360 (which is free).
    And in terms of paid CAD software I don't see the benefits over Rhino or MOI (other than being cheaper)
    and the CAD (nurbs) -> mesh workflow is horrible regardless of what software you're using (MOI is best though, if I had to choose.)

    • @brentlio5578
      @brentlio5578 Месяц назад +1

      @@eudymaverickmentor depends on what you do, really.
      Plasticity is really great at curve surfacing.
      But, like the parametric modelling, it’s not a great production tool for engineering work - where frequent changes in some fundamental details needs to change, which are usually easily done on any Parametric modelling software.
      Plasticity does it more artistically, if you do something wrong in the first step, that error is going to stay with the project, but for artistic vision, video game modelling, it’s more than enough.

    • @GonkOrange
      @GonkOrange Месяц назад

      Nope. It's pretty much just worse in every way? No SUBD, no parametric modelling, no timeline.
      If you want to do surface modelling in CAD go for Rhino. If you want decent meshes use any mesh modelling software.
      Plasticity has been ridiculously overhyped and all of it's (massive) minuses are just waved away by saying "well, it's made for artists!"

    • @brentlio5578
      @brentlio5578 Месяц назад
