Marriage is the biggest most important step in a relationship. This is beyond being friends, close friends, or even boyfriend/girlfriend. Marriage is an investment spiritually and physically between two people. You don’t buy cars, real estate, and or jewelry for girlfriends/boyfriends because those are temporary relationships. A relationship in limbo where two people don’t know if they are coming or going. When you invest time and money into bringing someone else from a foreign land, with the intentions of settling down. That’s marital decision. Marriage isn’t a relationship in limbo. I see possible potential in these two. Everything seems to be about money though. This conversation should have taken place before bringing her over to a foreign land.

I think Shaeeda was right in the beginning when her intuition told her not to sign the prenup. I don't have a good feeling about this relationship. I'm not sure Bilal loves her like she loves him.
I don't understand how everyone can be so flippant about someone signing a prenup that a lawyer said is one sided and shouldn't be signed. I'm not saying she should profit from the marriage but it should be a fair contract.
@@evanjuleen Even if she doesn't sign a prenup, Bilal will always be held financially responsible for her as long as she is in America. It's part of the conditions of the spousal visa...this is Bilal mitigating his losses as It's a win win for Shaeeda whichever way you look at it.

I was one of the people who could not stand this man since that car ride..but at the same time i understood him wanting a prenup....however this scene has definitely made me look at him differently..I see a lot of people saying he don't want more kids and he NEVER said that. What he said was he didn't want to have a kid when they are still in the beginning stages. He want to make sure they have a chance of making their marriage and relationship stronger BEFORE kids come into the pic...and there is NOTHING wrong with that.

Great point on submission. I agree. Submitting to a GOOD man is not a BAD thing. Submission does NOT equal control. It’s just allowing your husband to BE the man. I’m not following a fool, the blind can NOT lead the blind; everybody will end up in a ditch child! If he’s shown he’s intelligent, responsible, strong, also caring and willing to compromise: I’M ALL FOR IT. He can be the HEAD, but I’m the NECK…the head can’t turn without cooperation from the neck😂😂😂. You ever had a stiff neck? 😂😂😂. You have to turn your whole body just to look to the left😂😂😂. All jokes aside submission is not a dictatorship, it’s a partnership. I’m 26 years into my marriage and I have no problem with submitting (to a GOOD MAN). I prefer my husband being in the leadership role, that’s just me though. Do what works FOR you.

The mother trained him well. Like mother like son. Shaeda needs to be having this conversation with her own mother. Why would his mother serve against his interests in favor of yours?
Also...I think Bilal is someone who could've definitely benefited from therapy. You can see this push and pull within himself. (Unfortunately there's still a stigma around therapy and mental health in some communities, especially when faith based where "pray it away" mentality is strong. Both are important in my opinion. I have noticed this stigma is fading thankfully)
I actually never thought he was a bad guy in the first place...but Shaeeda was right to say she is paying for the damage someone else caused in some way. Hopefully they are happy and healing together.

Submission is all about trust. I submit to my husband when necessary, I push back when needed. But at the end of the day I allow him to lead because he has my trust. I know that he has our best interest at heart.

The viable egg count drops drastically after age 35, and infertility, miscarriages, birth and genetic defects (i.e. Down Syndrome) increase. At age 37/38, Shaeeda might want to freeze some of her eggs like NOW.

lol, I remember how my husband wanted us to get a prenup cause he had divorced friends that said every couple should. I was like: hell no, I'm poor, you're poorer, we have nothing to secure. So we got married without one. Still happily married. But it's good and important to agree on the major subjects before marriage. Things like children, jobs etcetera, so the convo is more important than the document.

Bilal's mom seems like a sweet lady, but oof, so much of her "advice" was so problematic, such as her perpetuating the flawed idea that men are divinely anointed with special qualities, skills and wisdom that women do not have, which allows men to hold positions of authority in home, but not women. This patriarchal notion has kept women down for millennia. His mom was (maybe unknowingly) gaslighting her - telling her to submit, that the woman doesn't always have to be right, men can have less tact when speaking etc.?! Basically telling her to ignore the pit in the bottom of her stomach that is telling her she's being mistreated and accept him for all his flaws, because he's allowed to have flaws but wives cannot. Terrible, terrible advice. Shaeeda is also naive to think that just because his mom was married for a long time means she had a great marriage. It could just mean she stayed quiet and "submissive" while being treated unfairly. Why is it so hard to accept that women and men are equals?!
