Howard Camp I don't think playing a few chords and picking a few notes demonstrates that anyone is all that gifted. If she wasn't as easy on the eye I doubt we'd know who she is. Jennifer Batten would smoker her even today but she's an old lady now so no one wants to stare at her anymore and therefore gets little or no recognition.
I suggest you listen to Violet Journey which was written, composed and performed by Orianthi; including drums and backing guitars, in addition to lead guitar and all vocals. This was an Australian release before she became known in America. Well before any of the MJ business. A very good album with differing styles much of which she wrote as a teenager. She has definite talent. The machine however has not been kind to her, having dragged her into pop, nor has her ensuing association with Richie Sambora. I wish for her the best.

I watched her LIVE at the Alice Cooper: Raise the Dead tour. I am awe struck at her talent. Even a week later. I wanted to jump up and holler: "We're not worthy!! We're not worthy!!!!" (a la Wayne's World)
She can be very slap dash at times with her playing. She tries to cover up imperfections with speed and she bums a fair few notes at times. Saying that she does have a presence and it does carry over to her playing. A lot of heart in the notes.
