I'm glad Orianthi mentioned how disciplined MJ was at work. It's so good to hear that MJ had a great work ethnic, mm-kay? If I was so popular and talented, I'd probably fake my death too.
I actually just discovered #Orianthi and she is incredible ! Watched her videos playing with Steve Via, Alice Cooper, & the late Michael Jackson, & Prince among many other legends! Check out her channel
The band and bg singer question is so interesting. There were plenty of the old crew on This Is It. Some even were told they were in and were shocked when they were cut. There is some kind of story behind it...
I'm not under the impression that MJ "fired" all the musicians from previous tours the way this guy describes multiple times. It'd been 12 years since Michael did ANY tour so at this point he probably wanted a fresh (perhaps younger) lineup w/ the exception of drummer Jonathan Moffett and a couple of background singers.
MJ booked Jennifer Batten only for his live shows, She replaced David Williams, who used to play with the Jacksons' tours for a while. Mj used to work with different musicians in the studio and live. There were only one or 2 musicians he worked with both live and in studio (greg Philinganes -but he was his music director on tours, so...)
Knowing what Michael wants in a guitarist, I think Michael may have thought of bringing back David Williams for "This Is It". However, he died in March 2009 just shortly after Michael announced that this was his last tour.
He most likely had not announced that he was doing the show yet… and it was supposed to be this huge thing.. so ofc we can’t have someone ruining that with their big mouth hahah
What's that drug..pro-fen-al? I don't work now. But, back in-the day..u know..career, family, financial bs. Not enough sleep. I've not had a lot of surgeries. I remember waking up after one. They had given me that drug. Man. I felt refreshed. (I shouldn't have done it, but I had another surgery one week later.) I REALLY looked forward to the drug-sleep. In fact...I'm the LAST fucx in the wake-up room lol. I wake up, with a nurse six inches above my face...with the look of oh shit.
ok so you're telling me you didn't deserve the job.....ok that's cool it makes me feel a little better about myself...goes to show how little it has to do with skill...ugh
@Maddienmk Prince made the record of 21 shows at the O2 in 2007. That's why Michael Jackson went straight to 50. Michael was very competitive when it came to business.
Michael was The King!! but he was troubled.
We are all troubled, Michael was in the media so the whole world can see. That's the only difference.
@@glamnesianouveaux2039 he was beyond normal troubled. He messed w kids

Saw her last night in concert. Not only is she and amazing player, she seems so appreciative of people coming to see her. Great night last night.
Thanks, Sunset Sound, for inviting Orianthi in and sharing this fascinating conversation! Respect to Orianthi.
Michael Jackson is a wonderful artist and man. It's wonderful that you had the opportunity to meet him. Thanks for the wonderful interview.
Great interview. I remember watching This Is It in the cinema. Would have been one hell of show! Michael is missed.

Why wouldn't he have great work ethic. Joe programmed him to have great work ethic
@@BoosterGoldEarth6 a good work ethic is one thing, but a good work ethnic is something completely different.
@@josephrohland5604 I don't understand you. I'm not familiar with any concept called "work ethnic." 🤔

What an empathetic lady. Great segment.
LIstened to a 2016 interview and now in 2022 and her accent seems it has changed...

It i said, MJ wanted his faithful team, but others in-charge wanted to "rule the roost" over Michael.
~~~~~Rest in Peace, Michael~~~~~
She's so adorable why does she always hide her face? I mean I SHOULD HIDE my face! 😁
This interviewer saying Michael Jackson had a horrific life is a very simple and shallow view of Michael. But not everyone is a deep researcher.
She is damm cool.
Cool 💯😎 Salute
The charges were back in 2005, get your facts right and he was cleared too. I don't know how that's even relevant for this interview.
"didn't deserve"? 🤨 I don't understand where you got that impression from (other than bitterness perhaps).
MJ didn’t hire slugs unless they were doctors
MJ moved to Bahrain aka Boyrain for a while before he started this last tour. I think he deliberately OD'd because the heat was turning up n him
