Her beginning of "Jingo" is quite good but her "Europa" lacks feeling. Too mechanical. She needs to give it space and let it breath. Like SRV always use to say, "play it with feeling", which if you have ever seen him live he, did every time. Same with Carlos. Feeling all day long . . .
Several years ago (I think she was 20) I saw Santana interviewed, and he was talking about her. He said something to the effect of, he would be happy if she was to take over the crown. I thought: Dude... what are you talkin about? She can out play you NOW! Here's your proof. This was child's play for her! Plus, she's much better looking, and can sing!
You are right, she can surely outplay him, then and now, BUT... Can she compose something as fantastic as this?, something that will trascend through generations? There are thousands of guitarists as good as Orianthi but just a handfull as marvelous as Carlos. That my friend, is the difference between being just great and being one of the greatest of all times.
What I will give Santana credit for, is coming up with a unique style of Latin Rock. However, when you really analyze his guitar playing, it's pretty mediocre. He's simply not the guitar God many make him out to be! I've seen him live many times. What really drives me nuts is when he starts to wax all philosophical. The gibberish that comes out of his mouth is laughable (unless you paid to be there 🙃)!

I do know that I saw him before the pandemic and he spent about an hour during his concert talking about politics. I will never go see him, again. I thought I went to music concert not a political event.
She plays everything up tempo. I do prefer Santana’s arraignment of the song. But they are close friends and I can assure you Santana would totally approve!

Read some of these comments and am wondering why so many little boys are threatened by a woman that can play the hell out of electric guitar? It's pathetic how many guys can't give her the credit she deserves. She's a frickin classically trained guitarist.
@@johnpaul4784 His opinion is most likely based on having listened to Santana many, many times. Her playing is technically accurate and tasteful, however... My opinion is that she will (hopefully) musically mature into a MUCH more convincing performer, in all ways. I thought that her playing was too predictable, too cautious, lacked spontaneity... I could really get very deeply critical of here performance here, If I wanted too. Now, would you like to ask ME about MY music experiences? I dare you to, having read your reply to John. "misunderstanding of music" pffft. Bring it, maestro. But really, in all fairness, her performance of this tune did not "suck". It was OK and had moments even a bit beyond that.
