Mikes greatest underrated song. I’ll never forget when a metal head told me they would never listen to MJ. I played this song and they instantly found new respect for him being so adventurous as an artist and went down the MJ rabbit hole. I was a proud Moonwalker lol
Slash's best work for other artist hands down. Dangerous is a masterpiece. Still outsold Bad while grunge rocked the charts. Some songs aged badly but some are technically and production wise best in MJs career. I love Quincy Jones and those albums were a very well put together with a right mix of songs but some of the songs inbetween the hits are just ok. Production, lyrics and vocals are amazing on Give it to me, In the closet, Jam. Besides a couple of songs on History and pretty much none on Invincible that was the last full album by MJ ahead of its time when it was released.
It sounds great :) I'm not even Michael's fan, but I love this song. I wish he made more rock music... Generally, if he made a bit more alternative stuff, maybe he wouldn't be so famous, but he could be happier... Yet he decided to become the most perfect and famous artist... just to feel loved. That's very exciting and tragic life story, I suppose.

Fabulous.This was filmed during rehearsals for MJs Dangerous Tour. My gosh, his lovely voice.No one can could hv sung it better. Slash on the guitar solo equally gr8..MJ was in his early 30s then I think & at his peak years till end 1999/early 2000/1. Sad we all age but thats life..One cant keep up this level of performance in one's 50s & upwards.Maybe he could hv.I dont know.. I believe that did cause MJ some depression in his last yrs of life.. His friend Rabbi Shumuley said that MJ was starting to feel that his best years were behind him by 2001.. Miss this legend.Thank God for RUclips..We can still watch & listen to these classics
One amazing thing about MJ is that he succeeded in being a genre-less artist that appeals to all genders and age groups. He had a good mix of singing about love, politics, corruption, environment, racism and being badass. Something for everyone. The same goes for his videos; anyone can enjoy them. I also credit him for not objectifying women in his videos. Take You Are Not Alone and In The Closet for example: he is half naked and getting down with the women in his video rather than the woman just a clapping booty feature with heavily cladded men dismissing them.

I love slash’s guitar on this song. I love the emotion in Michael’s voice. I love the heartbreak in the lyrics and the anger in the lyrics. Not many people can have music connect to your mind and emotions like Michael did.

I used to listen to that song as a kid and Never realised why I was always loving that song in particular ! am 37yrs now and still having the same feeling about this one !!! it will never change !! actually MJ's the first singer I started to listen to since my 5yrs old!!
I remember it was released when "Remember the Time" and "Black or White" were still huge on radio and MTV... "Jam" and "Heal the World" were also in constant airplay still. I think MJ put too many chart topping singles at the same time in 91/92 :D This song was a late single to be released from "Dangerous" and on top of all this his song from "Free Willy" soundtrack soon followed and also was a huge success so yeah, "Give in to Me" was crammed between MJ's hits, hits and more hits lol but it was still a big hit, especially because Guns n' Roses were pretty huge at the time too.

Michael’s heart and passion were just too strong to be boxed into one genre. Sometimes you really need that raw aggression of rock ‘n’ roll to truly get your message across. He excelled at whatever he tapped into. More Slash and MJ would’ve been sweet, and a supergroup with them would’ve been earthshaking.

One amazing thing about MJ is that he succeeded in being a genre-less artist that appeals to all genders and age groups. He had a good mix of singing about love, politics, corruption, environment, racism and being badass. Something for everyone. The same goes for his videos; anyone can enjoy them.
I also credit him for not objectifying women in his videos. Take You Are Not Alone and In The Closet for example: he is half naked and getting down with the women in his video rather than the woman just a clapping booty feature with heavily cladded men dismissing them.

I remember it was released when "Remember the Time" and "Black or White" were still huge on radio and MTV... "Jam" and "Heal the World" were also in constant airplay still. I think MJ put too many chart topping singles at the same time in 91/92 :D
This song was a late single to be released from "Dangerous" and on top of all this his song from "Free Willy" soundtrack soon followed and also was a huge success so yeah, "Give in to Me" was crammed between MJ's hits, hits and more hits lol but it was still a big hit, especially because Guns n' Roses were pretty huge at the time too.
