Alas the toy shop in the picture of great yarmouth shops lost its fight to stay afloat & closed its doors on saturday 4th jan 2025, it had been trading since the 1980s
I have lived in and around Great Yarmouth for all of my 56 years but must have missed something as I have no idea where the building is at 0.29 LOL.But you are right about the rest of great yarmouth.
Shame. We used to got to Gt. Yarmouth every year from 1980-1987 with my family and mates (well we actually stayed in Caister but spent most of the time in Yarmouth). The Main Street in Yarmouth wasn't pedestrianised then, and I still remember a department store about halfway up on the left. They had a counter full of jokes and tricks etc. which we used buy loads of to use on our parents 😂

That’s so sad
So sad about Yarmouth . For me it was a treat as a family day out in the 70s . Great beaches and funfair and loved the model village

I live in Withernsea and it hasn’t done well since they closed down the railway, Holderness coast is certainly not as it was in the hay days.
