If that's the case, you can apply and remove 48V phantom power all day and it won't do anything to the ribbon. #Science #Physics #ElectricalEngineering That being said, if you have 48V already turned on and you connect and disconnect a ribbon mic, it is the same as creating a momentary short in the connection and the 48V WILL zap the hell out of the ribbon. Just thought I'd point that out. Ribbons are totally fine to use with phantom power, as long as you follow the rules.
