I have listened to all the books in the series, and I went back and listen to them again. But the inconsistencies with the actors that read the books and the difference in the voices was driving me crazy. Book one speaker was horrible. Book 3 and four was fabulous.
Thanks for the very entertaining story. I felt bad for Cal, who needed the challenge of the women to move into a more flexible way of life but he got there! Lol. I loved all the interesting ladies.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Music? There's background music? I'm happy that has not been a part of the listening xperience for me - though after seeing a handful of comments here regarding music, I'm a bit nervous that part 2 might have music which would be a bummer 'cause this story is fun AND funny, and overdubbed music would be a major sad.. The story though, I like it, alot.. Narrator is fine, she's algud.. Alrighty, part 2, fingers crossed 😄18/2/24@17:10nzst🙋 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The breathless narration is an over dramatic anxiety pressed upon every word. I turned down the volume and turned on “closed caption.” It also serves to mute the horrendous singing background noise. Most books I listen to are in the background as I do something else. Most I’ve read before and still have a copy of.
It was fine until you realize there's no way any of these girls would have any future beyond the madhouse. This level of misbehavior would have resulted in a whipping and locked doors. After that, bedlam. I'd consider the same with these 3. It's a pity current attitudes and emotions spill into these stories.
Yes, I found it very unbelievable for the Regency time period. The behavior, speech, and attitudes of the characters was overdone and not congruent for the period. I know all of the books in this series aggressively pushes a feminist idealism that does no service to the stories. It is a constant battering that is forced upon the storyline and makes the characters seem shrewish, overwrought, and shrill rather than dignified, independent and strong. The dialog in this book as well as in the other books of the author’s, include lingo and idioms from a more modern time period that did not exist in the 19th century.
Love the story but the narrator sounds quite odd and robotic, as if she is nervous, it makes me fell on edge. Hopefully with experience she will relax and this will come through to the listeners.
I enjoyed this story, and the narrator, she's very talented.😊
Excellent read, characters are well-developed, and the narrator is one of the best-her inflection is perfect for the story! Thanks for sharing.
What a lovely voice of the narrator, I imagine things like this really did happen at this time period.

Can you imagine the whispers in that girl's schools rooms about the Duke that keeps coming to see the teacher
Great story. I really like this author. The reader can sound very robotic at times.
Thank you for a good read but i found the music interrupting the flow.
what is the music for
Whats with the song?
Love the story but unable to listen to the robotic narrator anymore 😕
I can’t listen either
I do enjoy these audiobooks.
Had the Speed the audio up a bit but it's good after that it could have been done better in the first place

Going into a new household of course she needs a maid someone on her team
If you're looking for a clean romance, this is not it. Found it out in the second part. 😑

I feel so sorry for CaL, his got his hand full , a lot of women’s problem, I didn’t like Lady Rose attitude.
I like Rose a lot.
If only the narrator would just read and not 'try so hard'
I think that the narrator is not a natural English speaker.
Agree...
Unlistenable narration!
