Thank you for this interesting adaptation. I enjoyed seeing Mr Collin’s stand up to Lady Catherine on behalf of Mary. I had expected to find Lizzie being held by Darcy as she cried over her father’s loss. I think the vulnerability would have added to the story and heightened the trust between them. I also like having ELIZABETH STOP CALLING HIM Mr Darcy and start calling him William once they realise their feelings. It makes their closeness more believable. It was also good to have a different villain. Thank you for Benjamin Fife’s voiceover. He does a great job even of the imperious Lady Catherine.
You're welcome. Thanks for your kind words. Mr. Collins standing up to Lady Catherine was quite the unexpected twist, right? Who knew he had it in him!
On my srcond listening to this I forgot the chapter where Elizabeth walks in on Darcy, the following events straight after made me laugh and blush for her 🤣. Collins is still ridiculous but it the very best version of him. I got every bit as much pleasure reading this again as I did the first time.. Thankyou.
Thanks! I agree Benjamin Fife @bennyfifeaudio is a great narrator and he's a favorite among the genre. Be sure to look for more of his wonderful narrations.
I have to say I was not too keen on the way this started or the crossed connections (like Mr. Collins & Mary) and the beautiful Jane being blind, but it all grew on me just to see what happens. Lydia getting everyone in a different kind of family shame was pretty good, she was always my least favorite of the sisters anyway being as girls like her have always grated on my last nerve.
Thanks for sharing your insights. I must confess, I frequently do not know what to do with Jane, but her being the eldest daughter, I wanted a compelling reason for her not to be primarily responsible for her family after Mr. Bennet's death. Add to that, she would have accepted Mr. Collins and that would have been the end of that. 😂 As for Lydia, it took years of writing for me to come around to her. If you've enjoyed my first book, To Have His Cake (and Eat it Too), you'll know precisely what I thought of her. 😉
Why do people believe they should get the work and effort of another for free? Don't get me wrong, I agree, ads are irritating but im listening to this content without paying a penny - that is an honour!

Very much enjoyed Collins standing up to Lady C.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed that moment. Who knew Collins had it in him? ❤️
Possibly my favorite detail of this one!
Indeed! Quite a compelling dramatization. Thanks!
I liked Mr. Collins more in this variation.
He's still quite ridiculous but, not too ridiculous.
I always thought Mary seemed a better choice for him.
@@cathyhaynes2700 yes. He’s silly but when push comes to shove he stands by good moral principals when Lady C really pushes him to cross the line.
loved this one, thanks

Hes still unattractive and ridiculous but a marked improvement on the original.

Thought I was going to be disappointed with the narrator not being Stevie Zimmerman, but no, I really liked his reading.

Too many ads, very disrupting
Ah, ads. What a conundrum indeed in trying to strike the right balance. Thanks for giving the story a try.
