I worked there over the summer before I went to college. I think it's a great place to start as a 1st omakase experience and gradually explore other places
Very cool! I think I would agree, although I think the quality for what you pay at Sushi W is very good, while at more expensive places it's not always 1:1
I experienced this $38 Omakase last month and in my opinion it is great for a starter. Someone who enjoy the experience, but at the same time you get what you pay for, cheaper cuts of fish.
I really like this channel and appreciate UA's insight and comments on the food, greatly! I don't know your background or if you have any professional training, but I like listening to your commentary very much and you often sound like a true, fair and insightful professional reviewer!! I'm staying tuned.
Loved this video. I like how you did the video post production. It gave you the chance to give an honest review without infringing on the other patrons. I’m also glad you survived!! It was looking like attack of the birds early in the video. 😂😂😂 Can’t wait for the next video.😊
There's a location in the UES too. It's a very good value for what you pay and you can definitely eat quickly for a quick lunch but it's definitely not the normal/more luxurious omakase experience where the chefs always take the time to tell you what they are serving you. The fish quality is decent but not the best but again, for what you are paying, it's a great value in NY. I think you can definitely find far better salmon nearby (but at a higher price point).
You make squid soft by scoring it. The more you score it, the more softer it gets. One place i went to, they scored the squid like a fish net. And it literally melted in my mouth. They called it squid cream bc it indeed melted like cream.
Salmon does NOT need anything done to it. I can eat at least 25 pieces of salmon sashimi at a sitting. A little soy sauce and wasabi is all it needs to compliment the taste.
I lived 1 block away from this location and attended their soft opening and have been back over 4 times!!! (Also been to their west side location as well) Love the price point of this omakase spot, there is no tipping as well following traditional Japanese culture!
Nice! I love Salmon also! Im a enrolled member of The Yakama Nation and I'm a seasonal Salmon Salesman. In my opinion I offer THE BEST SMOKED SALMON! I'd love to have you come visit in Cascade Locks Oregon between July and November and review
Word of advice that you could pass on to your subscribers, dress appropriately when dining at upscale establishments, not only will you be treated and served better, but you won’t piss off people when you wear track pants and hoodies.
When you return to the NY area from your Vegas trip I would love to see you do a review of Tsumo - the new $58 (for 13 courses) omakase place in Kips Bay. Everyone is saying it is really good!
Wow, amazing price! I guess for Omakase you are really paying a good percentage for a Chef's known name and 2nd quality of their product. I wonder if they put soy sauce vinegar on all the fish. I don't like sushi with too much sauce. They usually do that for low-grade fish. Love your video!💕
Since Wah Fung is still closed why not try next door to the right New Kim Tuong. I used to get lunch there. The beef chow fun and roasted meat rice were pretty good.
There very good really .nice place id be happy sushi dine ins in Australia are very expensive considering we get less variety. Toro is not a thing fatty tuna generally tou only can get lean here . Well now i know what im missing .👍🇦🇺😀
Akafuji in la habra. About $50. Pretty good value. Sushi yuen is also about the same but might’ve gone up. If you’re talking proper LA, cheap omakase prob doesn’t exist
Very nice review. I would love you to do a collab with James Andrews, it would take you both out of your comfort zones but I think you both might get a new audience and have fun, plus you are about the same “clout”
Hey UA! I really like your videos. You're giving a Mike Chen vibe before he got all corporate and sold out. Keep up the good work! Please don't sell your soul to McDonald's!
UA. Time for you to stop blabbing & start cooking. You're giving cooks a headache by sounding like you know sh*t, when you don't even know how to cook. I'm just saying. I've been there before. The things chefs & cooks do-- they ain't easy.
This is your best video so far. Great job capturing the food prep, then editing it into your post-meal reflections. It's up, up and away from here.

$38 Omakase > $48 beef rib with no bark..

Really good video. I'm going to try this out sometime this week. Thanks again, UA.
I love how he describes everything that is going on with the food ❤
The fact you have post it notes for notes is great, that had me laughing. Thanks UA, another great review, and I don't even like sushi, haha.
Crazy how this channel is growing. I remember this channel having less than 10k subs when I found it.
I've been here! I was there when they were lowkey and just opened. It was my firs ttime in NY, amazing staff, and overall great experience.

Holy mackerel, another great UA review. $38 for Omakase is a pretty good deal, with a few hits, and a few misses.
It's definitely a very good price! And the quality is not bad either overall
Loved this review!
The king ua very knowledgeable abd legit I like u ua keep it up mate
U will grow
I know nothing about sushi. Thanks for educating me.
Salmon does NOT need anything done to it. I can eat at least 25 pieces of salmon sashimi at a sitting. A little soy sauce and wasabi is all it needs to compliment the taste.
was the fish freshly cut or pre-cut? the hand roll fish looked pre-prepared, no?
I’m Japanese live in Japan, and it’s so interesting seeing Sushi in the U.S.
Thank you!

Thanks for the Heads up on EATS ....
Remember us when you hit 100k subscribers!
Why wouldn't they let you comment on the food while you're at the restaurant?
Spanish Mackerel is totally different fish from Mackerel.
I wish you would give the address of the restaurant? Paying $38 dollars is out of my budget.
When you return to the NY area from your Vegas trip I would love to see you do a review of Tsumo - the new $58 (for 13 courses) omakase place in Kips Bay. Everyone is saying it is really good!
Do they refill the gari that they gave you?
How do you get the $38 when it is not listed on the outside store menu? Is the $38 everyday?
hey UA.. question:
Can you do a Q/A session for your subscribers? I'd love to know more about you. You seem to have such an interesting life!!
UES or UWS location? You have to shoot out by me in Queens, there's a new spot "Masaaki" in Bayside. Excellent.
unfortunately I put it in my mouth 🤣 pure gold and an absolute meme waiting to happen 😂
Wow, amazing price!

$8 fatty tuna, super cheap! Nobu has it at 3x the price
I’m going to check this place out next month when I’m in nyc! We going 5-0 today too UA!! 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
Suprisingly owned and operated by Japanese owner from Yokohama. This owner has ambitious business plan. I think it will succeed.
$38 for omakase? What a great deal! Another delicious place to try when in NY. BTW - City of Brotherly Shove are 5-0. Go Eagles! 🏈
yue is the baddest cat on the block
I've gotten used to it, but dude your facial expression when you have some delicious can be easily confused for repulsion lol 😂
My favorite sushi is Siouxsie and the banshees
Looks delicious
Salmon is my favorite as well,,but I wont eat it cause it`s all farmed.
Fly on your food at 9:10…
No frills.

When you keep comparing with an eraser, I can't say I know what you mean...since I have never eaten one.
Fun video as but pls get rid of that background music!!
No egg at the end? 😢
