What are the ways to transfer back if not able to get to a physical location (out abroad & phone brake or dead) ? Can a new unused SIM card b activated over the phone on said phone to be used? Or can my old card be reactivated ?

Thats literally my situation also. That’s the main reason why I didn’t purchase any US SIM card less iPhone 14 series model. Foolish Apple makes it impossible to purchase a model that has a SIM card slot that sold in another country in the US. Didn’t want to deal with everytime I want to transfer from a esim back to physical SIM card I would have to go into the store to get a new SIM card everytime. I doubt I would be able to use my used SIM card that I already have inside my phone. I would be wasting and going through so many SIM cards because of this and I bet you the carrier would charge me everytime I need to go from esim to a new physical SIM card back and forth. Not dealing with that unnecessary inconvenience Apple created.

@@spectaculartech I lost my iphone 13 recently (with SIM card). Had to run into VZW to purchase a new sim for one of my spare phones (just so that I can have a phone to use with my current number). Went ahead and purchased the iphone 14, forgot that Apple started using ESIM on their new devices... I thought all was lost... And I won't be able to use any of my older devices...
I called VZW. Asked the rep how do I go back to using a phone with a phyical SIM card? She said as long as I have a physical SIM card and a phone that uses a physical SIM, all I have to do is call VZW... Give them my SIM card phone's IMEI number and service will suspended on my current ESIM iphone 14... And service will be transfered over to the phone with the actual SIM card... So all IS NOT lost. It is just more of a pain in the ass now. Not being able to just pop out the SIM card and move it to whichever phone I want to use... I would have to physically talk to my carrier's rep and have them manually transfer over my account each time i want to go from ESIM to physical SIM...
That was what VZW had told me. I haven't tried it yet. But that was what I was told... Not sure if this is the same process with other US carriers (TMo/ATT)

So I already have a T-Mobile physical sim card when I switched to T-Mobile in case I wanted to switch back to my old iPhone. Do I still need to contact T-Mobile for anything? Or can I just start the transfer process my self?

So, it's a barbed arrow. Once it's in, which is always easy, you can't simply pull it out. You have to push it through. This Apple is getting bad.

Something like buy an SIM card and call the service provider using an home phone and ask tht I want to activate my SIM card by transferring my same cellular number off from eSIM? lol idk I just don’t wanna lose my 90 gb data plan with a really good price lol I’ll worry about it in the future I guess 😅

It's not only that. They will ask your eSIM card number. I'm trying to imaging scenario, when eSIM Phone is broken and I didn't write my eSIM down to give it to my provider to transfer service back to physical SIM.

I just did this, basically you have to call your phone provider and tell them what you want. Took about 45minutes.

And that if you have a landline phone. I wonder if landline even exists nowadays. I would try to find a payphone outside, but that would be even harder. Not even all museums keep that one today.
