The director mastered the art of holding each other's gaze and enjoying what would be otherwise be an uncomfortable silence. Really helped build the film's quiet intensity that's unleashed in the violent sequences. Or something like that.
Frankly I don't think that she's that beautiful I think just in this movie she's kind of the vision of the hope of love. So she's not exactly a knockout, but if you wanted someone to be your lover, she's stereotypically feminine.

In the beginning it looks to be near MacArthur park somewhere in 6th street. Training day filmed a couple of scenes near there, notably the alley way scene. As for the ride where the music plays, that’s the LA River but idk where in the river though.
