as far as I can remember, aside from the Ussans there aren't actually *that* many documented cases, probably because the Covenant stamped down on them before they could do anything noteworthy lol
I honestly loved the heretic leader even before! It’s one of my favorite missions and my most person iconic halo 2 mission. I even went out of my way to get the new arbiter and sesa’Refumee mega bloks figures for nostalgia! Maybe in halo infinite they will bring back the heretic banshee
Ah mega bloks. Good stuff. I had a mega bloks Phantom for christmas years ago. I had so much fun with that lol. Oh yeah I also had a white warthog with two white spartans and a banshee.
My dream Halo enemy faction line-up would be Human Resistance Fighters and Spartans and Swords of Sanghelios VS Cyborg Covenant Remnants and Prometheans VS Banished VS Flood!!!
@JakeSpacePirate E didn’t we destroy the remaining Covenant with the Arbiter in the Battle on Sunaion? I think the Banished will be the Covie’s replacements. But either way, I’m excited for Halo Infinite as well! I really want the flood.
Its interesting how a lot of Ironic situations in halos lore actually lead to a better out come in the galaxy. The Swords of Sanghelios were created to challenge the arbiters rule to keep him in check to prevent him from having absolute power. Yet Thel Vadam the current arbiter is the leader of the current swords of Sanghelios but is the fit arbiter to lead it because he is no longer blind to the reality of halo and the galaxy. Also by fighting along humanity he has realized that their is more to honour than dying in battle or an over whelming victory. That honour is fighting for a good cause, to protect your fellow soldier and to carry on the legacy and memory of your brothers in arms. That it took a heretic to start the seeds of truth and to challenge the profits lies. Yet it was the Gravemind the ultimate evil that wanted to consume the entire galaxy of all life that was one that ultimately convinced Thel. I mean Chief and Guilty spark did help to extent as well. But the Gravemind was ultimate factor in breaking his faith. Which is also ironic because the gravemind is the master of manipulation, lies and betrayals. The Gravemind is even worse at spreading lies than the profits I wouldn't be surprised if the gravemind some how clouded the prophets judgement to not like they weren't crazy enough on their own but he could have ramped up their madness lol. I know this is a sad story but I just find it funny how Irony is the key player in driving the halo narrative and lore down the current path it is headed. And for the most I think its for the better. I just don't think the mantle of responsibility is just for humanity alone. I think Thel and the swords have a role at least although probably more indirectly because by taking on re emerging covenant sub factions hes preventing them activating the Halo Arrays or getting access to fore runner weapons caches or other relics of war. Now I am not saying that every covenant splinter faction would want to carry out the prophet of truths legacy or for their own conquest. But Jul Madma and his storm covenant were at least an example of an insurgency that posed a decent enough threat to be taken seriously by the UNSC. While being a major threat to Thels Rule of Sangheilos and his united clans he had worked so hard to convince to join his cause and strengthen the post war alliance with humanity. But I am aware that alliance has some tension. Officially with the UNSC and some of its high ranking commanders they have come to terms with the Sangheli and trust that they can depend on each other once shit hits the fan again. But I can understand Thel and his people mistrust of ONI at least and its safe to say that even members with in the UNSC don't trust what ONI's up to. But ONI has alot of power and influence to silence those who call them out on their shady deeds.
@@HiddenXperia Can I ask you a question? How does it feel, knowing that soon, maybe next week or next month, we'll be getting Infinite news, and after that, even if it's delayed, we'll still be getting new information since they already gave us gameplay at the Microsoft E3 Like event?

After learning of the truth of the Heretic leader, in Truth I felt bad about killing him on future playthroughs. Such a tragic end to a victim of his own unfortunate lies told to him

I just realized how similar the Covenant and the Imperium of Man are edit: I now want a halo fan-game that is Counter Strike, but one side are heretics and the other are covie specops.
Wait a minute, that is completely inaccurate. The only correspondences may be the belief in the rings for salvation and the belief that the God Emperor yet lives. This is also implying that the God Emperor is dead. This is untrue, as it has been stated that he lives canonically, if not solely due to the Orks being an absolute perfect mix of retardation and massive psychic power. If anything the correlations between Eldar and Covenant are the highest, with Eldar having a completely unique caste and religious system that they hold as superior to all else in the known universe and firmly believe anything that anyone else says is wrong.
@@justincoltharp9701 you could also draw some similarities to the t'au, seeing as they're empires made up of many different races assimilated one way or another, including bird/lizard-like warriors, bug-like flying soldiers, and an intelligent species of worm-like creatures. you could also draw a comparison between the Prophets and the Ethereals, and if you stretch it enough the Heretics have similarities to the Farsight Enclaves.

It always bothered me playing as arbiter for the first time killing all the heretics only to realize they were the good guys and then the arbiter doing the same exact thing as the heretics In the final level
HiddenXperia you never cease to amaze with how compelling you deliver these parts of the Halo lore that never knew the whole story behind even after playing Halo CE through Halo Guardians. Thank you for making the awesome content you do and I hope you continue to make many more in the future
A little late, but Elites speak using an organ in their throats. Their "jaws" are used for eating and for show, mostly. That's why Rtas can speak while missing half his jaw
I realized from your video a small dialogue connection between Halo 2 and 3. The followers of the Heretic Leader said that "his truth must not be silenced". Arbiter silenced Truth's "truth", remember? "And for that, you must be silenced." Pretty neat, nice video!
I like to think that if the unsc would of tried to contact the heretic faction and attempt to extract them from the gas mine if they were there long enough
There were only 3 human ships in the original halo system and they wouldn’t have had much time before a large covenant fleet, the largest ever seen, to enter the system
I think he immediately opened fire because of well, the station was in free fall, but even if he did get to the seraph in reality he knew death was outside considering the fleet on standby above them, and like he said he would rather die by his hands so he decided to go through with that.
God this made me so happy. I didn't know that he had a brother, but I'm glad he continues the fight in his stead. I always found Sesa Refumee's death tragic.
These videos are incredible going into so much detail about the Halo story. I just wish they would focus more on narrative in future Halo games with the incredible lore out there.
It's amazing to me how much story and lore went over my head as a kid when I first played these games. Majority of the time I had no idea what was happening, but it was fun.
Before I learned the story of Halo 2. I always thought that The Heretic was an Arbiter that betrayed the Covenant! I was a stupid child. Halo 2 came out before I was born! I was 2 when Halo 3 came out and I remember watching Halo 4 multiplayer on RUclips when I was 7 or 8.
I was only 10-11 years old at the time of playing Halo 2 in 2006 2 years after it was out. I thought nothing of the The Heretic leader and army until the terminals and this video. I hope you got around to playing the older Halos as much as everyone else did.
Soul Power I did actually! I just got MCC in February due to a delay because you can’t buy items for an Xbox in the Microsoft store on a pc. I beat Halo 2 before CE because I already knew the story of CE. I didn’t know the story of Halo 2 or 3 as the other Halo games. I stopped playing MCC for a while because the only multiplayer games were all Reach! A few 2A or 3 here and there but that was it! I just beat Reach the before this video came out. Good story... could use a little balancing. But now my goal is to beat ODST and 4.
@@aj_wlyms3117 I literally wasn't aware you replied a month ago, my bad man. But good on you. ODST is a special and unique experience that I didn't have much appreciation for when it first came out, but second time around in my early and mid 20s my opinion is vastly different. H4 as much as it was criticized even before Halo 5 was released, Halo 4 had a good story going for it and delved more into older lore that Bungie's Halos never touched. Reach balancing became a mess when the original title update was released and did good and bad. I hope in the future it gets addressed with more rebalance. Which Halo is part of your favorite multiplayer so far with all those included?
Ironically the flood only ever kill me when I round a corner to a combat form with a rocket launcher lol had the crap scared out of me today by that happening
The fact that sesa refumee says that humans would basically have the right to kill them on sight shows that he saw that they were wrong and they never should have fought that damn war
See this is why I love Halo the lore is scary but also really cool I've loved this game since I was 4 and seeing u make lore videos of this game makes me happy to know that people still love Halo and it's lore thank you for making this video can't wait to see the next Halo lore video
Cool we're covering the Heretics again! Those guys were awesome. On an off topic note, Xperia, I'm surprised you haven't yet covered the very aggravating new toy release of a Gungnir Spartan with an SMG for Infinite and a Brute warrior holding what looks like either a carbine or some sort of grenade launcher.
At 14:27 you say "Guilty spark" where you show 2401 Pentitant Tangent. Just a small critique I found, nothing too big. I love your videos man, let's hope halo infinite is as amazing as I think it will be.
I just realized after watching the Scientology documentary that the arbiter role is like a suppressive person basically being banished for questioning the religion and looked down upon.
Thel finally caught the Prophets in their bullshit, and recruiting the Brutes to replace the Elites honestly was stupid given the resulting events. The Prophets screwed themselves.
Why is every piece of lore in the Halo universe so damn compelling? Seriously, it's so rich with stories, all untapped by the games! If someone says "Halo is just a mindless shooter game" you KNOW that they have no idea what they're talkibg about and they've probably only played one game EVER without even finishing its campaign or actually paying attention. Halo is my favorite sci-fi universe in the... well, universe! I can't wait for more Infinite videos! I want gameplay!
I'm glad to see someone give Sesa the recognition he deserved. Didn't like the way Bungie wrote his bizarre decision making in that "moment" after 343 fleshed out his past with the Terminals, but they needed a pivot point to create the seeds of doubt in the Covenant. One more tragic tale in a long line of tragic tales in the Haloverse.
This is completely random, but I just now figured out that the floods introduction theme is an like an alarm at 12:50. Kinda of really shows how much of a threat the flood was even when we knew nothing about them in Halo CE. Just a small detail I've never noticed, carry on.
Great video! But wish you would have just touched on the Halo 2 map “Burial Grounds” which was a makeshift Heretic base, description of the map reading “This makeshift Heretic camp on Basis is littered with wreckage from the destruction of Installation 04.” But still loved the video!
This will always be one my favorite things in the Halo universe is just the possibility of what could've happened if Arbiter could've been allowed to listen just a bit more. I do love moments in the stories where a minor initial antagonist becomes much more. Rip Sesa. Best of the Heretics.
I do love a deep dive. I also didn't know that Kola Boath was the elite Locke was speaking to at the start of H2:A. HiddenXperia: Learn something new. (even if you have been around since the beginning)
I'm sure it wasn't easy for the heretic faction fighting this impossible up hill battle. but controlling the flood like a weapon, now that must have taken some genius.

as far as I can remember, aside from the Ussans there aren't actually *that* many documented cases, probably because the Covenant stamped down on them before they could do anything noteworthy lol

I just bought the Master Chief vs Arbiter set.
Aaaayyyyyyy! You guys know what’s up😂🙏🏻 I just rebuilt my phantom set with the classic arby!

I want a mod that changes literally nothing about halo 2 and 3 except the voice of the gravemind being turned into Xperia’s
Damn, this was really well said
1:14 So basically unleash that Gravemind you've got in a time lock at your house.
It’s gonna be weird seeing more Infinite videos/news potentially starting next week!
MY FINGERS ARE ETERNALLY CROSSED

@@HiddenXperia Can I ask you a question? How does it feel, knowing that soon, maybe next week or next month, we'll be getting Infinite news, and after that, even if it's delayed, we'll still be getting new information since they already gave us gameplay at the Microsoft E3 Like event?
Where does it say that news is coming next week?!
@@michelangelo9353 Leaks are pointing towards a Xbox Series X/S reveal event in the week of May 4th, with the reveal will be a small showcase of major games, including Infinite, potentially another cutscene or multiplayer footage, but the big reveal will be in June/July, either way, you're less than 75 days away from Infinite news at the max.
After learning of the truth of the Heretic leader, in Truth I felt bad about killing him on future playthroughs. Such a tragic end to a victim of his own unfortunate lies told to him
I can't stop thinking about what woulda happened if they actually believed Sesa and joined forces with him at that time. I just discovered your channel last week and I'm loving the content you put out. Thank you
I just realized how similar the Covenant and the Imperium of Man are
edit: I now want a halo fan-game that is Counter Strike, but one side are heretics and the other are covie specops.
I think Call of Duty faction backed style multiplayer would be good, that way playing as Spartans wont get as stale.
@@justincoltharp9701 you could also draw some similarities to the t'au, seeing as they're empires made up of many different races assimilated one way or another, including bird/lizard-like warriors, bug-like flying soldiers, and an intelligent species of worm-like creatures. you could also draw a comparison between the Prophets and the Ethereals, and if you stretch it enough the Heretics have similarities to the Farsight Enclaves.
this video has been a long time coming, sesa was such a deep character, but bungie wanted a boss fight that can be cheesed with needlers
I was not aware of this lmao I always used an energy sword even on legendary
Just a touch on the sponsor, i bought a pair myself and they're legit. When I'm cutting grass i can barely hear my lawnmower at HALF volume. Full volume is just pure noise cancelation.

I still don’t understand how these guys talked and ate with those respirators jammed in their mouths.

I realized from your video a small dialogue connection between Halo 2 and 3.
The followers of the Heretic Leader said that "his truth must not be silenced".
Arbiter silenced Truth's "truth", remember? "And for that, you must be silenced."
Pretty neat, nice video!
Greatest lore in halo history
The narration along side this information make me love even more the game and the Lore.

These videos are incredible going into so much detail about the Halo story. I just wish they would focus more on narrative in future Halo games with the incredible lore out there.
If elites become playable again, I'd love to bre able to wear their armor, also, playable elites needs to return.
@@aj_wlyms3117 How was 4?
Lol I was 8 when 2 came out. Didn't think of it until I was a teenager and started delving into halo lore

At 14:27 you say "Guilty spark" where you show 2401 Pentitant Tangent. Just a small critique I found, nothing too big. I love your videos man, let's hope halo infinite is as amazing as I think it will be.
The transmission into that raycon segment was smooth as hell.
Sometimes I don’t have time to watch videos but I always log on to leave a like for my boy
I just realized after watching the Scientology documentary that the arbiter role is like a suppressive person basically being banished for questioning the religion and looked down upon.
Sesa basicaly is one of the favourite characters in Halo if not most one
Tho armor design is absolute beauty
I like how at first Arbiter didn't reason with the heretic later than at the end of halo 2 arbiter realized the truth and tried to tell tartarus.
Gotta say, you and rocket sloth have probably the best transitions to sponsors of any halo content I've seen on RUclips
The Swords should build statue to honor Refumee.
Another great video hiddenXperia and also I always sympathized for the Heretic leader
Great video! But wish you would have just touched on the Halo 2 map “Burial Grounds” which was a makeshift Heretic base, description of the map reading “This makeshift Heretic camp on Basis is littered with wreckage from the destruction of Installation 04.” But still loved the video!
Exactly
This will always be one my favorite things in the Halo universe is just the possibility of what could've happened if Arbiter could've been allowed to listen just a bit more. I do love moments in the stories where a minor initial antagonist becomes much more. Rip Sesa. Best of the Heretics.
Nothing probably would/could change he had to die on that station so the arbiter could live
