Kevin, this is awesome! I know this video is a couple of years old but the principles are still solid. I noticed when my wife was doing engagement with other content producers on TikTok we seemed to have more growth… Then the growth slowed down after she stopped. I subbed and will do your masterclass and Facebook group. Thank you! 🙌🏾💪🏾👊🏾
Dream 100! Engage with dream collaborators and target audience in a strategic way. I plan to set aside dedicated time for targeted daily engagement. Thank you for the valuable advice on social media engagement to elevate podcast audience growth.
Loved this one thanks. Great advice. I am RUclips ing and about to go to podcast sooooon. I am content rich and a professional presenter on gut and well-being. But …. Even have a fb group with 70000 etc. but find the marketing to easy to ignore when everything else is fun.
Hey Kevin, This episode has been such a life saver for me! I like how you debunk the holy grail of 'consistency' by showing that there is more we need to be consistent in than just a post date!
Super helpful information! We thought by just posting everyday we would grow but you definitely helped us see more ways. We’re so excited to start implementing new strategies!
Hey there… Yeah, he does have some gems in this videos… From what I see, looks like we have something in common as a brand as well… Looking forward to checking out more of your work!
This is amazing and VERY frank and honest! Good stuff… As a new podcaster, hearing the hard truth from this guy really inspires me to try this approach! I’ve always heard about it in general social media growth but make so much sense in that podcasting space! Thank You!
Hey Kevin, will be sharing this on Twitter to my fellow rap podcast peeps very soon! Love how you synthesized this info into a punchy video. I can't say I've done everything I should to grow my show just yet, but over the past year I have seen notable growth in viewership, and have gained at least 1K followers on Twitter in the past year... by basically focusing on replies and thoughtful engagement (even while still falling victim to too much consumption. I will be doing that muting thing shortly) Point being, I appreciate your contributions to helping the podcasting community out!
Amazing stuff! Subbed and interested in more. So sick of those 100k subs overnight! Those are basically find trending audio, find trending niches etc. but Ifgaf about those things and don't wanna make videos about those. So yes very refreshing to see this video
Great video! Lots of good stuff here for my struggling podcast. I have a question about what you said at 13:30. I am a little unclear how you go from engaging with people in the comments in these FB groups, reddits, etc to the DM stage. Do you have some examples of how you would do that?
I think it's not a straight line, from engaging to DM to listener. He describing a slow, steady audience development strategy. But it can work, if you have expertise in something and can find a group that need the help. I've found this works well on Reddit.
Gratitude and love for this video! Great advice, you have inspired, and encouraged me. I will take your advise and check out your other shows, I'm really glad I found you.
This is so so great. I haven’t started I want to launch next year. But I wanted to ask should I use my personal page or create personal brand or use my podcast name?
I'm about six minutes in and just have to question how am I supposed to engage when people aren't leaving comments on our posts? What if they're only liking "reacting" to the posts on social media.
@Gidget2324 Not 100% sure, but 98.8% sure I believe he's saying to EBGAGE with other posts that are similar to yours. Follow alike podcasting pages and interact with them and their fans. Just a hunch.
Hoping is what TikTok made us remember their value proposition was their revenue proposition. So it's outbound relatable content. That's as far as the video side and then you have your usage which uses audio. The music reassurance is when older bands and musicians from the past that are millionaires use generation Y to grow their profits then they take back the rights at the end of it. This is why the platform TikTok and our podcast aren't moving.
I'm wondering - should I use my personal social accounts to participate in groups/forums/Discord servers, or the podcast's accounts? Incredibly helpful video! Keep up the great work!
I obsess over these sorts of questions, and I don't think it matters much. The gain from engagement is getting relevant ideas, learning the audience and sharing your expertise. If you are genuine, and your podcast link is in your profile, they'll find ya.
Yes! In short, it’s where you further the conversation and eventually make the pitch - whether pitching them to listen, pitching them as a guest, or pitching them to collaborate. It should always be from the perspective of how doing the thing you’re pitching will benefit them.
@@growtheshow That makes sense! Thanks for redirecting this veteran podcaster and teaching an old dog new tricks. Today is Day #1 of Targeted Daily Engagement. It feels like an authentic way to build great relationships and sheds old stigmas.
Kevin, this is great knowledge! I’m just starting back over. I had to take some time off because of my work schedule and over time, but I really do want to grow my show. I’ve thought of strategies for a while now, but the constant posting like you said was not working 😭. So, today, I am going to take on these strategies that you’ve mentioned and take them for a spin🔥🔥 Also, do you recommend Anchor as a platform as well?
It really is… I’m so excited about the ideas he’s dropping! Because I’ve thought this… Bit where I messed up is I didn’t zero in on people who “blank and blank”….
Great video. Thanks for sharing the info. I have a couple of questions for you. I currently mostly use Instagram and Twitter. Would you suggest splitting my time between them within the 30 minutes per day or focus on just one of them? Also, I've heard you mention that you have two podcasts. Would you spend 30 minutes on each of your podcasts per day? I have personal social media accounts and some for my podcast as well. I can find this to be a bit time consuming and overwhelming. If I had multiple podcasts/media to promote, is it best to start engaging with my personal social media to build a personal brand or split my time between show-specific social media? Thanks!
Hey Jeff! I’m a big believer in putting as much energy as possible into one thing at a time. For that reason, I’ve actually retired my first podcast. I used to do both, but I found that both of them were falling short of their full potential. In your case - I say pick one platform and go all-in until you have 10K subscribers at least. As for brand or personal, same thing: pick one to put everything into. Put all of your eggs in one basket and then watch how fast that basket grows.
Really fabulous video, thanks I got so much out of this and am going to implement today. Merci beaucoup and hope you have a fabulous day as this has made mine. Finally I found a video that made sense about growth on social media. I hope I get the targeting right.
I guess it all boils down to a couple of questions: Are the posts you're writing engaging? Are you showing your personality? Are the posts well written; do you story tell? Do you share value or do you just say, "Join me and [the person]...!" Also, how active you are and for how long have you been growing your brand? I know I don't have any answers, but sometimes asking the right questions can help us with the mindset shift. 🙋♀️
A (probably very stupid) question. If I start interacting without promoting on social media groups, should I do it from my personal account or my podcast profile? Thanks. Great info man.
Hi everyone I'm Teacher Adriana. I just launched my first podcast! It's a podcast spoken 100% in slow English for intermediate and advanced English speakers. I agree! People are wary to engage with "brand" accounts online, because it's just so obvious why the account exists, Much better to engage as yourself, so they build a relationship with you, the personality. You can create a separate "public facing" account if you want and keep your personal life ones elsewhere

This came across my feed right on time. Thank you for sharing!

Solid!!!!! Engagement is the key

When you engage on facebook, are you doing so with your personal profile? Or your "page"? Or . . . ?
Good reminder video. Commenting got me to my fursr 10k months. But pivoted away. Lol going to add some in to boost organic even further
great video. thank you so much!

This is a high quality video. You made a comment - "after you go to the watering hole do daily, TDE, then hit them in DM's." Can you explain DM's?

How do you engage on your own posts with "watchers" who don't comment?

Do I go in with my brand name…or as Nick? I’m thinking for Reddit username specifically
60-100% increase in growth doesn't do a thing at 1 download per episode
“Sub-Reddits”? “Discard channels”? What are those?
