    IMPORTANT feedback to lightweight motorcyclists. I have progressive 444’s on my 23 Indian Scout Rouge and I weigh 130 pounds. Leather saddlebags, sissy bar and some supplies barely gets me above 140. I’ve got about 1/3 of an inch of preload on the shocks and they are absolutely MAGNIFICENT! Rest his soul, and much gratitude for all of his highly informative videos. But his last point about staying away from the shocks if you don’t weigh very much is NOT my experience. They’re just fine. What a difference!

    Saw your Progressive 444 video install and a few others on the Scout Bobber made the change on my bike. My back and my wife thanks you. Night and day difference.

      Good to hear. Indian needs to do a better job on the suspension on these things

    I’m here because my boyfriend is thinking of getting his first bike, he wants an Indian scout bobber (he’ll learn on my honda rebel 500 first for sure) and, I don’t want his lower back to suffer because of the stock shocks or the seat.
    Thank you so much for this video! ✨💕✨

    Thanks for the video. Great info. I’m about 200# and my spine gets jarred sometimes. Would love a smoother ride. I also have saddle bags on me Scout. So a little more weight there too. Will look into this. Again thanks.

    thank you for the video! I ride a lot on a daily basis and carry a passenger pretty often. Would you recommend me a 444? and if so, would you change both front and rear? or you would do the front one first/only? THANK YOU!

    • @dadwithabike
      @dadwithabike  4 года назад +1

      I don't have problems with the front suspension, only the back. If you are going to carry a passenger I would look at upgrading to the 444s

    Do 444 heavy duty version suits someone who weighs 188pounds? Also whats the difference between 490 sport and 444 shocks? I am planning one of them for my iron 883. Thank you!

    • @dadwithabike
      @dadwithabike  3 года назад +2

      I think the heavy duty would be a bit much for someone that is 188 lbs UNLESS it's a big cruiser. Sadly I'm not real familiar with the 490s

    Hey Dad with Bike. Sorry if I have missed this but did you install the 444 with the standard or heavy duty springs ? With thanks.

    • @dadwithabike
      @dadwithabike  3 года назад

      I did standard because my weight + gear never needed the HD springs. I'm 200lbs and my gear usually won't exceed 50 lbs.

    I’m worried I went to high with the HD vs the standard. Time will tell. I need the HD and the wife doesn’t. But I can’t stand the factory set. Might swap the HD for the standard and just crank them up for myself.

    • @dadwithabike
      @dadwithabike  4 года назад +1

      I think you'll be fine. It would only change the rear geometry a little and it shouldn't mess with handling.
