I am looking at that fairing for my bobber. I am a short guy. you were saying if it was to be any higher it would create buffeting on your head. Do you think because I'm shorter that would happen to me?
I think the gauntlet would be good. You could look at the road warrior as well ( what I use now). They have windshields ranging from 5" to 19".
How does the 1/4 faring work? We are getting the new Rogue, and are wondering if the 1/4 is enough to keep the wind off your chest.
It does a good job keeping it off your chest. The great thing about the 1/4 fairing is that it takes just enough wind off you without causing helmet buffeting.
Hello dad, thanks for the great videos. I have a 2020 bobber that I’m starting to equip for some long rides this summer and am trying to figure out some wind protection right now. I was wondering what your thoughts are of the cafe fairing vs the gauntlet wrt wind protection? I like the look of the cafe more, but I know it’s a little smaller, so I was curious what the difference in wind protection of the two is. Thanks very much and ride safe!
So I'm 5'10 and the Gauntlet caused buffeting so I moved to the Cafe. It takes the wind off my chest but lets me get wind on my face without buffeting. Another option is the road warrior for Mac protection.

Great info. I got the new 2020 bobber 20 with the 10 inch apes. Do you think the fairing would fit. I was looking at this and found your vid before I ordered.
It should - you could also potentially look at the Road Warrior fairing
What side mirrors?
Quick question. This has a quick release. In the install it says you have to remove the original bezel. Does that mean you can run with or without it and it looks good either way?
Yes. When you run without it it has a similar look to the Bobber 60.
Quick question as far as buffering goes .
How tall are you ? Might affect where exactly the wind catches you !
I'm 5'9" or so. I've since moved away from the Gauntlet and to the Cafe ... but now I have the Road Warrior given how much I travel with this bike.

@@robwhite3671 actually I would do the road warrior. The main reason is you can get several windshields for it from 7" to 19" I think. I ride with a 13".
Try the airhawk air cushion.. you won't regret it!
I have something similar and will pull it out on longer trips. Helps a lot.

Im wanting something for my 2018. Can you post a video or pic in your next video of what it looks like with the fairing off as well ? I want something I can take on and off for just riding in town .
Yeah - so right now when the fairing is off .. it looks horrible because the bobber headlight bucket isn't a good bucket. So I have JUST ordered the one from Indian for $99 and once I get that on I'll do a whole thing on fairing off / fairing on.

I like the gauntlet but LOVE the Cafe and Road Warrior from Memphis Shades.

So, you have to buy the turn signal re-locator kit and the headlight extension - that's all. Total cost is about $400 USD or so. Once you do this with the Cafe, Gauntlet or Road Warrior - it is 100% removable with a pull of two tabs on the fairing.

Bike looks sweet man. I'm looking into the 8" instead of the 10" I am 6ft just wondering if they would be good.
Hello how aerodynamics does the wind cover?
They are pretty good. The wind is deflected off my stomach and comes up to my upper chest. Has made long distance riding so much more enjoyable.

Yes it would. Go check out Memphis Shade's website and they'll tell you all you'd need for the scout

@@mannyg3829 I'd give them a shout. I don't think anything in the front-end has changed on the scout for 2021.

It does, but I use this bike for more than just hopping around. The fairing makes it way more comfortable on longer rides. The Memphis Shades fairing itself is actually a quick release so I can take it off if I choose. I also have a sissybar added to help with the luggage issue. I had to set this up for my Sturgis ride coming soon :D

You should have ordered directly through Memphis Shades...
When I ordered the fairing, I ordered a few more things - so that's why I did it through a provider.
