Michelle and Melissa pulled out all the stops to make sure that the story of their father and his Porsche 912 was told properly, and represented in full. They worked so hard, and did everything right, to ensure that The Gray Fox found a new home with someone who was as excited about the car - and its rich history - as George was. What an honor it has been to help create this video and be a part of this amazing story!

Kevin - Thanks so much for your kind words! We really enjoyed working with you and appreciated your patience and expertise as we made our way through the process. We could not be more pleased with the outcome. The positive comments here and on the BaT auction listing blow us away. Thanks again for helping us successfully share our father's 912 story. We love it and we absolutely know he would love it too!

7.12.22. Found this while looking up your dad to send greetings to him from a neighbor who grew up with him in Santa Rosa, Bob Burpee. So sorry to hear of his passing. I met your dad right after he came back with his car from Germany. I was working in HR at Memorex as was he and he took me for a ride and hooked me on Porsche. In 1970 I took my 911 to show him and we had a good laugh at my “Silver Porsche” he never got, but he was not willing to trade. He was so full of spirit and embraced life as no one I had ever met. He left a lifelong impression of how a to embrace life. Still have a Porsche as does Bob. We stayed in touch occasionally over years and I have his 912 personal (business) card. Happy to send to you if you want. Wonderful story. John Robblns

Hi John! Melissa, one of George's daughters here. Wow thanks for the note and the cool stories about your Porsches! Only wish our dad was still here to read your memories and re-connect with you both. He really did have such an exuberance for life and in particular for his beloved Gray Fuchs! He also loved to make those business cards you referenced and share them (we have several) as well as print photos on aprons, greeting cards, and make large poster size prints as gifts for all his friends and family. We miss him a lot so your note is much appreciated. Glad to hear you and Bob seem to be going strong. Hope you can still regularly ride your Porsches.

What a wonderful story. Ive been dreaming of owning my own forever 911/912 for years now. I restored a 73 911 back when i was in my early 20’s about 2007. I havent driven it in 13 years (owners sold it) but i can can still smell it and can feel the steering wheel and shifter in my hand. When my ship comes in i will have another in the corner of my restoration business. And like this gentleman it wont leave the family until im gone. Great story and tribute to a real car guy 👍

Great story! As so often, Porsche was (and is) ahead of its time when using colors. This grey used to be known as 'bin liner grey'(...) in the 70s and 80s. But in the last few years, nearly all manufacturers now have various grey tones in their catalogue!

What a beautiful inspiring story! George and his lovely wife Nancy seem to have such a grand adventure and life together. I too have fond memories of a 1967 Porsche 912 my father purchased while living in Milpitas CA in the late 60's early 70's. We lived not too far from the Ford plant where George worked before he left for Europe. Because of my father's fascination with Porsche I have been a fan of Porsche cars for most of my life. I can still remember taking summer vacations down to Southern California in my father's 912. I still remember my father letting me drive the 912 on Interstate 5 at 14 or 15 years age; what a thrill! 912's are wonderful machines. My father passed away June of 2021. I still have those beautiful memories of driving and riding with my father. I also remember all the wonderful people in the PCA Loma Prieta region. Like George my father and I both love our Porsche cars. Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful story. Peace be with you.

What a story of life. A vintage car or your favorite car has attachment, preservation requires the ups and downs of life to keep a treasure... the treasure as George said, is the community, the people he met, the people who enjoy seeing the car . Horsepower is a number.. drive feel, friends, and beautiful cars will always carry more power in the spirit of life. My suggestion for the best of the best..have a corvette and have a porsche. Meet friends, take pictures, join clubs, and drive.

Great job on the video girls! I have been with the Golden Gate PCA for a number of years and fondly remember my many discussions with George at concours events regarding the Gray Fox and his adventures with your Mom; it was obvious that taking car of that baby was one of the loves of his life. Regrettably I've been to few concours events for the last year or two and had no idea your dad had passed; going to concours will not be the same without seeing his smiling face. Tonite I think I'll turn on that old 1930's radio he rebuilt for me (another of his passions I believe) and reminisce about the "good old days".
