Been looking forward to this one for a while, nice work guys! I was pretty close to predicting John's and I'm glad to hear the Cup of Pestilence is gaining ground. I think I'm more on John's side when it comes to Meet the Family, but generally in the same ball park on everything else. I like it a lot but it would probably be a low A if I could fit three there. Shut Your Mouth is the only clear D for me. Mine would be: S - Smoko at the Pet Food Factory, The Cup of Pestilence A - Hi Vis High Tea, Sans Souci B - Meet the Family, Not So Tough Now C - Forever Malcom Young, A Man's Not a Camel D - Coughing Up a Storm, Shut Your Mouth
We are so close to the same haha, You're more with Dylan on Forever Malcolm Young though, idk why I like that one so much. Thanks as always for watching and supporting!
Nice work dudes! I’d go: 1. Sans Souci 2. Smoko At The Pet Food Factory 3. The Cup of Pestilence 4. Meet The Family 5. Not So Tough Now 6. Hi-Vis High Tea 7. Forever Malcolm Young 8. Coughing Up A Storm 9. A Mans Not A Camel 10. Shut Your Mouth
It's weird that Sans Souci came out to very little fanfare (at least in the states) Even after pretty decent marketing from FAT I don't remember many kids in our crew who were talking up the Rhomb, it's a shame!
This might be recency bias, but The Cup Of Pestilence is currently my favorite Frenzal Rhomb album. I'd probably still give Forever Malcom Young the nod as their best album though. I'd be tempted to put Sans Souci in the S tier...all their albums are amazing though!
Greetings from Australia. Great video, - however coughing up a storm wasn’t their debut. 1994’s “Dick Sandwich “ was Frenzal’s debut with the iconic severed member served on a slice of bread. A low budget recording however who can you Trust is a song of note. I have to say Not So Tough Now is a classic and full of awesome riffs and was the end of the founding era of Ben Costello on guitar. Google Dick Sandwich and perhaps you can update this with it included ? Cheers Ben
I'm a huge Frenzal fan but being an American i feel like I've never had a sense on what other people/critics think of their albums, so this is interesting to me. I knew Shut Your Mouth would be below average, but im kind of surprised to see you both put it in D. It's definitely got its faults and I know the FR themselves dont like it, but its got quite a few real bangers, Coming Home alone would move it out of D for me. Conversely I'm surprised Smoko is so high, It's a good album and it's lyrically strong, but I would say its the weakest of the last 5 albums musically, lacking the hooks of the other 4. I'd even go so far as to say it is kind of the Shut Your Mouth of the modern era, suffering similar faults of inconsistency and pulling in tropes of contemporary pop rock that I find detract. I hear a fair amount of aughts emo influence in it, which I dont care for. Definitely agree that Frenzal have mostly gotten better with time, which is fairly unusal for a punk band. Comparing their first album to their most recent is absolute night and day. Off the top of my head (not following the 2 per tier rule): S: Forever Malcolm Young, Cup of Pestilence, Hi-Vis High Tea A: Sans Souci B: A Man's Not a Camel, Smoko, Meet the Family, Shut Your Mouth C: Not So Tough Now D: Coughing Up a Storm
Based on the ones I know well enough: S - Meet The Family and Hi-Vis High Tea A - The Cup of Pestilence and Sans Souci B - Not Sop Tough Now and Smoko at the Pet Food Factory C - Forever Malcolm Young and Man's Not a Camel D - the ones I don't listen to
i agree with you on the last 3 albums. i just checked them out because your recommendations and yeah, they are excellent. im also a big fan of meet the family. the only thing i disagree on is shut your mouth. i actually really like that album. maybe because it was the first frenzal rhomb album i ever heard but i can see that its less popular because its the least frenzal sounding album.
its still sounds like frenzal a few of the songs are a tiny bit radio friendly but still really good! The only bad thing about it is the production sucks balls!
@@rohan750 what i really like about sym is that the album has a lot of the slower 'clean to distorted retro rock n roll' type songs like "coming home, best guy, i love f*ing up" that remind me of weezer blue cd buddy holly. on a few rare occasions they have this type of song on later albums too but "shut your mouth" has the most of this type.
Definitely worth checking out! The early catalog is hit or miss but you can't go wrong with anything from 2003-Now, Would recommend starting at Smoko, it's an easy 10/10 perfect punk album
Definitely the best Oz punk act but I'd be remiss not to shout out Cosmic Psychos, Area 7, The Living End, Spiderbait, Bodyjar, One Dollar Short, The Chats, Hard-Ons
Man, fucking no so touhg now is a masterpiece (expect for production), wasted man, idk big brother is stupidly grat, an cpas is yust punk, punky punk, sick and tired, i love hate.
Mad Caddies have a new record coming out this summer, so going to wait until that comes out. Bracket is (potentially) working on something although it may be another side project, but I am ready for it if it's not coming out. Hi-Standard I definitely need to catch up on, I've never been super familiar with their catalog but it's a good idea! Up next is Good Riddance, then I believe Teenage Bottlerocket / Lillingtons, possibly the Vandals. Thanks as always for watching!
I had to push it back, ended up doing a lot more work travel than I anticipated. To be honest I'm not familiar with a LOT of the catalog so I need to really sit down with about 20 of the records so I can have a solid list worked out. It's coming, just delayed. Hopefully sometime over the summer.
1 Hi Vis 2 Smoko 3 Sans Souci 4 Macolm Young 5 All the rest .....exept... Pestilence. Last place simply because it was such a HUGE let down after Hi Vis...
Man, the first 2 albums are my favourites, man is punk raw and malodic
If you don't think Meet the Family is S Tier, YOU CAN'T MOVE INTO MY HOUSE!
Damn! Do you live somewhere cool? I can change my pick if we are talking beach front property
Forever Malcom young is S tier. Songwriting and the guitars. Bought it the day of release, it will never be beaten.
It's an awesome album, often slept on for some reason

1. Sans Souci
2. Smoko At The Pet Food Factory

5. Not So Tough Now
6. Hi-Vis High Tea
7. Forever Malcolm Young

10. Shut Your Mouth
Sans souci is amazing, the melodies the clever chord progressions. I don’t see how someone could say it’s not their best
It's weird that Sans Souci came out to very little fanfare (at least in the states) Even after pretty decent marketing from FAT I don't remember many kids in our crew who were talking up the Rhomb, it's a shame!
I can't believe Shut Your Mouth is so disrespected. I reckon No.2 at least.
na shut your mouth is no 1 one on mine! its soo good!
Frenzal not a band I’m very familiar with but after watching this, I’ll go back and check out a few albums.
Definitely worth it Aaron, They are probably the best band still releasing music from the legacy years
This might be recency bias, but The Cup Of Pestilence is currently my favorite Frenzal Rhomb album. I'd probably still give Forever Malcom Young the nod as their best album though. I'd be tempted to put Sans Souci in the S tier...all their albums are amazing though!

Thanks for checking out the video! We just focused on the full lengths for this. But Dick Sandwich is an elegant master piece.
Nice! Sans souci is my favorite, such good songwriting
Shut your mouth is my undisputed favourite. Surprised how little love it gets.

Shut Your Mouth is still a pretty good record, better than a LOT of bands worst albums for sure! Thanks for checking out the video

Never heard these guys until today. Seems by the rankings they are another band that got better with age.

@@PunkRockRadar That was a fast and fun listen! I'll keep going to Cup Of Pestilence

And also do Amen and there one of nu metal punk rock crossover ala hed pe or snot or Alien ANT farm.
And also do glass jaw
Mad caddies, hi standard, bracket tier lists next? 😃

Lex was an S tier bass player and backing singer.
What ever happened to the Tooth & Nail tier list?
I had to push it back, ended up doing a lot more work travel than I anticipated. To be honest I'm not familiar with a LOT of the catalog so I need to really sit down with about 20 of the records so I can have a solid list worked out. It's coming, just delayed. Hopefully sometime over the summer.
Hoping to still do it!!!!
If you guys need help with that I’d love to be of assistance
It will be done! I'm on vacation June 14, going to relax with that playlist all week and get it done 👍
And also Wendy o Williams ( i am not really a big fan of her )
Coughing up a Storm easily
HI-VIS is the best
No argument here, Hi-Vis is fantastic!
1 Hi Vis
2 Smoko
3 Sans Souci
4 Macolm Young
5 All the rest .....exept...
Pestilence. Last place simply because it was such a HUGE let down after Hi Vis...
Touché Amoré
Frenzal Rhomb are not a very good band.
Fuck! Say it in Japanese!
Haha that line gets me every time!
