You had me until best ball of his career... When you have as many turnovers as passing TDs you can't be playing your best.... Some of these Purdy Apologists ARE WILD....
Brock has always thrown deep. He lead the league in air yards last season. The difference is without CMC, Kyle never draws up passes shorter than 10 yards it seems. No designed dumpoffs, screens. And the Niners skill players are bottom of the league in getting separation. Kyle needs to know this and make life easier on Brock. He’s making him decipher 4-5 options every play deep down field, requiring he holds the ball 3+ seconds with a poor offensive line. The few times he calls a quick horizontal pass to Kittle or Mason it always works. I don’t know why Kyle is continually forcing the offense to keep trying these 20-30 yard plays in man coverage when they’re never open. Brock either has to throw a pinpoint throw (Which before the KC game he was first or second in the league at) or he has to throw it away / scramble / get sacked.
@kevinandrewsphoto I've been saying this to everyone - the offense is unrecognizable. You can't convince me that the ONLY RB on the roster that can catch is CMC - we had quick passes to RBs WAY before CMC was on the roster. Kyle needs to just call his damn offense and expect his players to execute.
Travis kelce's innate ability for the shorter routes is what allows mahomes to be so good, he didnt need to keep throwing bombs, he dink and dunked his way to 3 superbowls
Everyone is going to compare this 49ers season to 2020 because of all the injuries, but this feels more like 2014 for many reasons: 1. The team is at the end of a nice run of consecutive NFC title game appearances/Super Bowl appearances with no title to show for it 2. Offseason drama and distractions 3. Bad O Line 4. Stale offense 5. Aging roster with almost no depth 6. Deteriorating defense 7. The team losing games most people expected them to win 8. The team getting throughly outclassed by the elite teams 9. Years of poor drafting and poor draft trades, especially in the first round, finally catching up with them (see #5)
I agree. This feels like the window is about to officially close in the short term. However, I think the difference is John Lynch and Shanahan are on the same page vs Harbaugh and Baalke turmoil. The likelihood of forming as dominant of a roster as they did the past couple of years is slim, but I think these two can get the 49ers back on track over time. I would argue they are the 2nd best Coach / GM combination behind Veach and Reid. As long as the 49ers have those 2, they are FINE.
Agree with most of your points except 5 and 9. We are top heavy on high end skill position talent which has been injured. 49er have consistently found talent towards the backend of the draft. Look at the draft positions of Greenlaw 5, Jennings 7, Hufanga 5, Lenior 5, Purdy 7, Dee winters 6, Mustapha 4. All are major contributors on throw-ins picks. Other teams would be 1-6 not 3-4. Depth has been showing out, the young bucks carried a huge burden for us against the Seahawks.
I love the logic that teams arent scared of the RB with the 2nd most rush yards in the league because he isnt CMC and thats allowing them to stop the pass game even though they are still getting gashed on the ground lmao. It seems more like they arent confident when its CMC and thats the issue they face. Even when CMC comes back, just make them beat you through CMC and focus the pass but they worry too much to do that.
Mitchell has been out all season. Mason has done great on the ground, but he hasn't produced much catching the ball out of the backfield (I haven't watched film, possibly too busy picking up pressure). Shanahan hasn't shown a willingness to consistently run at a high volume this season either. Maybe because Mason is the only back he trusts healthy(ish).
@ron10dk its absolutely mostly because of CMCs impact in thr pass game lmao, im just being a dick. I do find it funny that Mason has been unbelievable running though, if it wasny for the Kings historic start he could be leading the NFL and still lose his job without hesitation when CMC is healthy 😭
CMC is more explosive on the ground and is also a YAC threat. Mason is a good not great RB, the reason why he has been good so far is because niners like to run the ball so much. Mason played great against minor defenses also. He is not Derrick Henry.
@@alfredopr923 I get that, CMC is worlds better. He is dynamic and changes everything, just funny how teams focus him so hard that they allow this pass game to explode because right now its being held back in his lack of presence.
Purdy looks good, however, this new style of 49ers offense just looks like it has less juice. It looks more like a standard offense, but with a few possession receivers who can keep the team ahead of the sticks.
As a 49er fan, its pretty crazy to think we are 8 weeks in and CMC hasnt played a single down. I wasnt too worried the first couple of weeks, but since then it has seemed to have a negative domino effect on the entire team
Every team is trying to get these dual threat quarterbacks. I don't know why they don't target more qbs like brock. He has a good team around him, but it is so clear that he can get through every tead with immaculate timing. Teams will draft super mobile qbs like Richardson then be surprised when he can't read the field. While they might have a slightly higher ceiling, their floor is insanely low. Also, if you look at the 10 or so best qbs of all time (excluding maybe mahomes) the most mobile quarterback is either Aaron rodgers or Steve young. They similarly to Purdy only used their legs when the play broke down. Even Mahomes in 2022 when he won mvp was because he became a better pocket passer
Because the teams picking for QBs are bad and have more holes to fill for talent. Plus the dual threat QBs with mobility can sort of hide O-line deficiencies. As well as help with the run game and buy time for not having the best group of receivers. Purdy got into the right situation anyway because the Niners built their offense a little differently. Plus the Niners winning haven't been in position to pick young dual threat QBs (save for Trey Lance which was a hail mary pick in of itself). So the QBs that Shanahan have had around in recent years have been your guys who can make the quick read and get it to the receiver schemed in the middle of the field. Plus Purdy has one trait that former Shanahan QBs didn't have which was better mobility. Which is why he's been surviving this season as his weapons go away due to injuries. Purdy uses his legs to create some time even in bad pockets to find his receiver down field.
@@t4d0W i agree, but what i was getting at was the qbs getting drafted looking to scramble when they don't need to. I'm not saying that it's bad to have a dual threat, but bad teams draft them instead of building for a qb before drafting them and because they can't read the field their development is non-existent.
There hasn't been a lot of dual threat QBs historically. It has nothing to do with their ability. For every dual threat flop you can think of, there were 50 "pocket" passers who were just as bad at reading the field. It is 2024 and QBs are getting crazy huge contracts. It is incredibly difficult to build a winning team when your QB is getting paid big bucks and still requiring all pro talent at multiple offensive skill positions to succeed. @@trentsammons7748 To be fair not every QB who can scramble has the same profile as Fields. Shanahan had a losing record when he traded for CMC despite having 12 other all pro players on his team. Take away one player from a loaded roster and Shanahan looks below average. Hes overrated. Sean McVay would have 3-4 rings woth this roster
Insecure Princess Banahand.
Hate to say it but we really hired the wrong guy in 2017. McVay is pretty much Shanahan without the flaws
the one we beat every year .. Lol .. & this roster is all because of kyle/lynch !!
@@TestHaha55 No, the one who beat us this year and the one who beat us in the NFC championship game. You know, the one who is a Super Bowl Champion.
The one who struggles to have a consistent team that’s can’t even make playoffs - even with stars like Aaron, cupp, stafford & the one who made goff a scapegoat !!
Comparing 7 games to 23 is crazy work. That’s mainstream media levels of dishonesty.
…that’s how midseason analysis works. Tell me, in you mind is everyone out to get you?
What do you mean is everyone out get me?
That’s nowhere near a fair comparison?
He should be comparing 15 games to 15 games, not 7 to 23.
so far he has anyways everyone cracks under pressure
I want to know what percentage of people actually keep watching these videos with ad placements.
Prediction: The 49ers will trade Aiyuk in 2026 for cents on the dollar for cap reasons.
HE A GIANTS FAN 🎉
Kyle needs to go.
i know ur a chargers fan, how that L taste?
49ers do short passes they win
Brock underthrows deep passes and receivers fall down as they catch it. One Big reason for the lack of YAC.
i want them to beat Dallas. Love seeing them fail Jerry is going to loose it
But I was told by 9ers fans that Purdy is a top 5 qb that can carry a team regardless of surrounding talent
Didn’t watch until the end huh? 😂😂
We will see this week, no one looks great against KC, don’t be ignorant
For the people who insist brick can throw deep, he throws to WIDE OPEN receivers, throws with no accuracy required, without cmc this kind of nonsense is no longer happening, especially in tight man coverage and he's getting picked off.
Second😊
First
I hope you get that speech affectation looked at.
