Wel, You just took your game up several notches with this video. Great music, great filming and editing! It was fun and funny, those bloopers at the end are rich. Can't wait for part II
Lance ,Wyatt Yes please you gotta do this beauty up. Great ep can't wait for next one. Your on a winner (couple of episodes in this build) Love it. Come on back now!! ya hear!. Cheers
Man... this takes me back. The very first brand new vehicle I bought was a 1982 GMC Sierra. It cost $9,199.99 at the time ($268.05 a month). It was the exact same colors as this truck, I even had that chrome step bumper (that was $110 extra thrown in as incentive). I sure miss that old truck. Thanks for sharing this one!
I was so glad to see that you guys had a new video...can't wait to see more content and more on the square body. Oh yeah, and congratulations on having a child!! Bless y'all!
Pretty neat stuff...i use a 1989 GMC Sierra daily Driver plated "Farm Truck" that I brought down from oklahoma from my late father's estate, was sitting with bad fuel pump for 8 years...fixed pump and drove it down 11 years ago. I rebuilt the 700R4's myself on the picnic table...these trucks will never die as long as you maintain them and don't expose them to corrosive road salts.
They ok but I like the 67-72 c10 much better. I had a 67 and a 72 back 30 years ago. I could kick my own butt for getting rid of them but they weren’t worth anything back then and they were everywhere. Now they unattainable unless you got crazy money. I had probably a dozen square body’s back in the day. Same thing with them. They weren’t worth anything. The last 1 had I sold for a 1000 bucks, running driving ready to go. It was my daily driver but I wanted to finish my dad’s truck I inherited so I needed the money.
I guess I would have thought that the propane conversion would’ve been a bit more complicated than just an adapter sitting on top of the carb. Like ya said, the square body market is crazy these days. Definitely worth a resto. Thanks guys and and God bless!
That was a quick fix, now you need to make it a restored project and give it a custom look ❤LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless y'all and your critters
This freaked me out! There was me thinking "he's had a hair cut.", and "his Dad is looking younger....". Then you set the timeline and I was "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.". Quite why I was so absorbed by the physical nuances of you you and your Dad is beyond me. So, back to the subject, of cars. Watching this from the UK and am sharply reminded of how draconian our vehicle related laws are here. NO WAY could you revive a truck like that here and drive it home same week. That is if you could find anything half interesting enough to try it with. It'd either be a pile of brown scales in sa puddle of brown water, or be HUGELY overvalued by the owner who "knows what he's got". So I'm pleading with you, keep these wonderful snapshots of life in automotive Texas and beyond coming. It really makes my day. Thanks!
They say you can tell when a RUclips channel has been established by the volume of commercials. If that's the case, YOU GUYS HAVE MADE IT! I've never seen so many commercials in your videos before! Congratulations!? Thanks for another great video my friends and, of course, GOD BLESS 🙏❤️✌️
Yeppers 👍,that a great set up. I think that motor will surprise you. The trans I don't know, but a fella could always flash it an see. Some time's losing that old stuff an a new filter helps. Good luck,an thanks for sharing 😊.
Lance, the only thing missing from that truck is a couple of bales of hay and some soil samples and she would be right back. Good to see you and pops keeping well.
nice revival boys, I used to drive a propane van and there was a lever to switch between gasoline and LP. literally while it was running. the newer setups automatically start on gasoline fuel until the engine is warm enough and then switches over to LP. you can really hear the lifters chattering on propane fuel. almost sounds like a diesel
I’ve been in the propane business a long time. We’ve had propane service trucks around off and on. The problem is, the engines burn too clean with little internal lubrication. They seem to run hot, have no power and burn up sooner than gas engines. The gas engines have a little lubrication from the gas. The good thing is, the propane takes a long time (if ever) to turn bad. It’s stinks, but it will still burn. Just do what you do and don’t listen to the negative. Keep talking and they don’t like it they can always turn off the sound. I’m subscribed to turning rust and as of today, here also. Please keep the videos coming more often and don’t sweat the small stuff.
Your willingness to drive a vehicle with no brakes makes me NERVOUS! LOL Great video, glad to see she fired up for you. In the end she was just thirsty! ;-)
Our 79 F150 ran on gas or LP. Had dual gas tanks and a 100gl LP tank. We could run over 1500 miles between refills. LP didn't have as much power as gas so if we got into the hills we would have to switch over to gas (just a switch under the dash.)
My favorite color .. I had one just like this long bed I wish I still had it... It fit me and the sounds like doors and hoods sounded great strong motor and trans. Mines was a 78 high rise motor headers and all burnouts were easy.
Excellent video RESTORE Crew Wyatt :) , Lance :) , Christina :) also myself first vechile saw Propane was 1966 3 ton fire Department tanker GMC stake truck type single axle my late Dad was on! Then in 1993 at Tire Sales & Repair shop was serivce truck 1983 to 1985 3/4 and 1 ton GMC and Chevrolet had Propane 350 V8 with Manual transmission and Automatic transmission plus 2 wheels drive ! Had rebuilt 2 our 5 motor and yes last I know put ignition switch to on also wait till buzzer shot off then put gas pedal to floor count to 1 to 8 then feather gas to kept running! When stays going your drive on and enjoy Propane like Carburetor gas engine but pressure cylinder to for fuel tank! Then school friend of my his father truck fillup cylinder on frame of 1984 Chevrolet 1/2 ton truck thru bumper light would be was crazy spot! Then say Ford 1992 car had Propane was LTD midsize car to V6 motor thought was but was a 302 V8 rare car for sure!
Bogata has gotta be on one the littlest Texas towns with the biggest gearheads, thanks to Restored. and Turnin Rust. If I wasn't so old, disabled, and a millionaire, I'd live and work there in my own shop or anyone else's. These guys dig up thee most awesome junk and make them like Lazurus. Propane, or, pro-pain? Nah--you keep it in your kitchen stove, not in/on an engine. Diesel has its place, not here. Glad to see it's back to gas. Back in the day, I remember a popular swap--was ripping out the GM truck's 350 diesel and putting in a 455 Olds. Pretty much a direct bolt-in. Slight tweaks on motor mounts, but that was it. Everything else, including driveline, fit like a glove.
If that engine has been on propane its entire life it’s like new inside. I got 2 74 F100s both were on propane. I converted them to gasoline and they are like new.
Glad your Dad is talking in the video. Need more of that..

Them old square body short beds are pretty expensive mostly the 4x4 ones but yeah that propane stuff I don't like at all
