Having wearing Levi’s for a very long time, started with 501s and 505s. Now, my wardrobe is stacked with 511s and 514s. I’ve been wanting to try out the 502s, so I’ll make a trip to the Levi’s outlet later this Summer after I shed some pounds off my waist, LOL. Great video!
I have a Levi’s Outlet nearby, and decided to try all of their styles and see if I could find something that could fit me better than my current 514s. Glad I did! Don’t know why I waited so long, but surprisingly enough I found a style that fits my Mesomorph body type. And that’s the 502 Taper Stretch! The only disappointment is they don’t carry in store 29 inseams! However, they do have them available online, so I placed the order in store and they shipped them to my house. Last thought, I still can’t understand why big brand apparel companies don’t have a line of clothes for petite men? My wife bought me an overcoat for my birthday, I had to take it back to the store to have it tailored because the sleeves were too long! Don’t know about you, I’m 5’7 can’t ever, ever find pants in stores that can fit me right off the shelves from the inseam!! Same thing with jackets and coats, the sleeves are always way too long! It’s very frustrating to encounter this, when shopping is supposed to be a fun experience! I don’t like buying clothes online without trying the garment first, as I have come to realized that a 32x29 with one brand fits a certain way, and that same size with a completely different brand can fit a whole lot different in many aspects. The same dilemma goes with shoes! I ordered a pair of Chelsea boots, and had to return them a couple times. First time, the boots I got did not look as chunky online as they did when I got them arrived at my house. So I ordered a different style of boots. Got the new style but they were a bit long, looked like a clown (no offense). Returned those for a smaller size, now my shipment has been delayed, oh well, I guess other people have it worse with other goods of their own. Anyhow, I went off subject somewhat, but my point is, if you have a retail store nearby, try on the clothes and don’t buy, unless the clothes fit you the way that you expect them fit your body!
Awesome breakdown. My go tos are the 511 and 512 . For skinny ankles like mine, 5.75-6” is the perfect taper to show off the sneakers 😎 can’t do skinny’s though, I need my thigh room lol
@@stylewithaltitude exactly. That’s why I have to get the calf to leg opening tailored because of that very reason. Especially because I wear streamlined shoes and boots primarily, not chunky shoes like sneakers
I'm a little person so buying Jean's has always been interesting. When I got my first pair of Jean's I got original fits and had to cut somewhere between 8 to 10 inches in length, they looked like parachute pants on me. When I gave slim fits a shot I noticed the 511 fit perfect ! I never thought to look up Jean's videos til now. Thank you for this
Guys, if your a tall son of a b and your curious, always go for slim tapered/regular tapered. If your jeans are too skinny your screwed or if jeans too big, your screwed as well, cuz of the long calves.
I've always been in love with the 501s, now i use 511s..love em as well. They're just perfect and the 513-14 straight fits are nice. Gives the classic jeans look with a bit of contemporary touch. Fits great and gives the premium quality of Levi's.
I’m a bigger guy so I got 541s and they’re awesome. I wear them all the time and they’re so comfortable for my big thighs and if you go with a dark wash, that and the taper will give you a slimmer look. Some tips for my big bois out there.

Levi's QC standards have dropped steadily within the past 10 years, especially with the 510. It's hit or miss when ordering online. I wear 510, 512 and 511 for 'nightlife', everyday wear and work respectively. I own 3 512's and about 4 each in the other 2. 1 of the 512 fit like a 510 and 1 of the 511 fit like a 512. The 510 are all over the place. So much so that I only really wear 1. There is no replacement to trying on your clothes before buying. But great work on the video as I never considered the 502 but I might give them a try.

I agree i try 510 a couple weeks ago in size 29 and thigs and leg opening are wider than measumerents in this video. I Measure that leg opening have 6.3" and thighs 27cm(10.6) in dark blue wash. The lighter wash that i try have different measumerents.
No kidding on size, I have 5 pairs of 541 at 32x32. Just got a pair that size on Amazon, and they are so much smaller than the other pairs I can barely button them.
I'm so glad that skinny jeans are out of style now. Covid reminded all of us on the importance of comfort. I've never been a levi's guy, but i do keep a pair of black 511s as a staple of my wardrobe. They look great with literally anything.
So true. Sweatpants/joggers dominates my wardrobe now haha. The 511 does go great with everything and really makes your outfit look so much better than sweats.
dude i literally won't even wear jeans if i'm going out to eat because i need to account for stomach expansion. joggers are the greatest thing to happen to men's fashion in decades because now we can look good/fashionable and still be comfortable
@@jeffrittenour8202 No doubt, joggers are awesome. You should also try cotton/polyester/spandex blend jeans. Feels so soft and stretchy that it feels more like joggers than jeans but still gives you that denim look.
@@MensFashionFiles Agree with you on the cotton/ polyester/ spandex combo. With COVID, I put on a little weight and so I needed something with some stretch. I bought two pairs of a Canadian jean made in China called Buffalo David Buitton. The stretch was incredible, with only 70% cotton in one pair and just 36% in another pair. I'll get back to 511s when the diet works!
Use to love Levi’s but the quality and fit is all over the place.I would always recommend going to a physical store to try them on.I switch to GAP jeans as they have been constantly well built for me.
I have a few pairs of GAP jeans and I agree that they are great. I really like Banana Republic jeans more though. It's very comfortable and so far it's the only brand that makes their slim jeans not too tight on my thighs and hips.
Lately, I came across Levi's 513. They have a slim silhouette through the hips and thighs with just slightly more room in the calves. They are probably the most comfortable slim jean that I've worn. With 511s and 514s I usually go up a size or two (33w-34w), but with 513s I do not (32w).
It took me forever to figure out that the 541s were the fit for me due to my more athletic build. If the 541s had a 7-7.25 leg opening, it would be perfect. Awesome vid.
511 is the best, classic timeless look , skinny jeans look ridiculous, I was in London about 5 years ago, every "Lad" wearing super skinny jeans. I shit canned all my "Dad Jeans" gave away to Goodwill, replaced with 511. The 541 is close second. Great Video...you're doing God's Work!

I was a fan of 512's for a long time. But they are really tight all over. Now i choose smth more roomy. Like the 502's. One of my favourite fits is 562. Loose tapered and regular tapered are much more comfy, you understand it as you get older))
I used to only wear slim fit jeans like the 511's but I found that with my new job I average about 10-12 miles of walking a day and after bringing out all my slim fit jeans from last winter they are all way to tight and now fit like skinny jeans. I realized that I needed some jeans with wider legs so I decided to go with the 541 athletic tapered. I just ordered 4 pairs from the Levi's website yesterday and best of all everything is 50% off on the Levi's website right now. I also went ahead and ordered 4 pairs of Lee regular tapered jeans from Amazon and those fit great. It looks like I'll be going back to the style of jeans I was wearing in the early 2000s lol.

I have two pairs of 502's in black and indigo. I love the room in them although the waist seems a little looser and I need to wear a belt I wear them for smart casual wear with loafers and Chukkas. I purchased two pair of 512s (black and indigo) over the weekend. It is a more slimming effect and looks tremendous in the legs. It does hug the legs and probably wouldn't wear them during summer. They will go well for both smart and casual wear with my Chukkas, Chelsea boots and sneakers. I will purchase a pair of 511s (light blue) today for smart casual and casual wear. I want a bit more room in the legs from the knee down. This will look good for a smart casual and casual wear primarily to wear with loafers, but I can also wear Chukkas and Chelsea boots.
Well I got the 502 and 541 and it's safe to say that the later does not show my buttcrack when I'm squatting. 541 is for me and I've abandoned the 502.

In my country almost all Levi's is 32" long. It was just frustrating for me because it was too long until I tried the 502s. 32W 30L fits perfect for me (5'8 160lbs).
511 & 541 are the 2 most versatile. 511 can be worn w/ boots, sneakers, loafers or derby shoes. They provide a slim but mature fit. 541’s if you have slim to avg legs and like a bigger fit but not leaning all the way into to the oversized category. Looks great w/ boots, Chuck 70’s, casual loafers. The rest of the styles really leans hard into the skinny style that most men w/ avg size legs over the age of 24 don’t look flattering in.
I used to love 501s and 505s. However now I think they fit too loose. I have 12 pairs of modern fit Levi's jeans. 502, 511, 512, 531, 541s. Waist: 34 or 36. Length: 30 or 32 All of them fit roughly the same. Slim and tapered, not too tight. Just right. I guess that goes to show Levi's have a pretty inconsistent factory standard. 5 different styles shouldn't fit the same way. They are made all over the world. However, the ones made in Mexico seem to be the best quality. I'll include this from another post I made: You all might like to try the 502 or 512. Maybe even 531 if you have muscular legs. All three styles feature a tapered leg. These are slim, but not skinny. Almost as if you had your 501s tailored to look better. Kind of like the old slim fit 501s from the 80s and 90s. I remember my Mom did school shopping out of the JCPenney catalog. You could get your Levi's jeans in regular or slim fit. I think it was around the year 2000 Levi's discontinued the slim fit option. And then a few years later introduced the 511 slim fit. Man those original 511 jeans were the best. 511's have changed over the last decade. They're loser than they used to be and not as tight of a leg opening. That's why I mostly wear 502 or 512 jeans now. Slim taper is the way to go for me. I want my jeans to have a clean, classic look to them. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
And here’s me who totally isn’t into skinny jeans. I get so uncomfortable when they are sticking to my leg from almost everywhere. Into more into regular fit and straight fit but there aren’t those many options available. So me finding jeans is like an event for my parents as they always say get more jeans you’ve got just 6-7. 😂😂
I don't usually wear skinnies either. More of slim and straight guy. Honestly 6-7 is not bad, as long as you have a diverse range of colors. I have like 30 pairs of jeans but 99% of the time, I just rotate between the same 3 pairs 😂

Within the past year, I have bought 502, then 511, and then 512. I still wear all 3 but like 512 the best.
I find myself wearing the 512 more than those other cuts as well. The 511's leg opening is a little too big for my frame and like a nice taper.
502 look versatile and they seem to hit that sweet spot.
I've been using the 512's but I think it's time for a change.

If you're taller or have bigger feet it's a good look, otherwise the leg opening can swallow up your shoes if your shoes are smaller.

My only problem with 511 is it has such a low waist. I’m thinking about buying a 501 and tapering down a bit to be like 511 but with higher rise.

I just ordered 4 pairs from the Levi's website yesterday and best of all everything is 50% off on the Levi's website right now. I also went ahead and ordered 4 pairs of Lee regular tapered jeans from Amazon and those fit great. It looks like I'll be going back to the style of jeans I was wearing in the early 2000s lol.

I have two pairs of 502's in black and indigo. I love the room in them although the waist seems a little looser and I need to wear a belt I wear them for smart casual wear with loafers and Chukkas. I purchased two pair of 512s (black and indigo) over the weekend. It is a more slimming effect and looks tremendous in the legs. It does hug the legs and probably wouldn't wear them during summer. They will go well for both smart and casual wear with my Chukkas, Chelsea boots and sneakers. I will purchase a pair of 511s (light blue) today for smart casual and casual wear. I want a bit more room in the legs from the knee down. This will look good for a smart casual and casual wear primarily to wear with loafers, but I can also wear Chukkas and Chelsea boots.
It seems the 502 regular taper is the most versatile when it comes to comfort and fitting. 511 would come in next...

512s are my favourite fit but too bad they're inconsistent. some pairs fit snug on the calves just how i like them but others fit exactly like 511s.

Well I got the 502 and 541 and it's safe to say that the later does not show my buttcrack when I'm squatting. 541 is for me and I've abandoned the 502.

In my country almost all Levi's is 32" long. It was just frustrating for me because it was too long until I tried the 502s. 32W 30L fits perfect for me (5'8 160lbs).

The 502's are the best, especially for guys with slightly meatier, bigger thighs but taper at the bottom.
511 & 541 are the 2 most versatile. 511 can be worn w/ boots, sneakers, loafers or derby shoes. They provide a slim but mature fit. 541’s if you have slim to avg legs and like a bigger fit but not leaning all the way into to the oversized category. Looks great w/ boots, Chuck 70’s, casual loafers. The rest of the styles really leans hard into the skinny style that most men w/ avg size legs over the age of 24 don’t look flattering in.

502 surprised me how well they work with my western boots. Although also use the 505 and 514s ot any pair that is regular or straight

I used to love 501s and 505s. However now I think they fit too loose.
I have 12 pairs of modern fit Levi's jeans.
502, 511, 512, 531, 541s.
Waist: 34 or 36.
Length: 30 or 32
All of them fit roughly the same. Slim and tapered, not too tight. Just right.
I guess that goes to show Levi's have a pretty inconsistent factory standard. 5 different styles shouldn't fit the same way. They are made all over the world. However, the ones made in Mexico seem to be the best quality.

You all might like to try the 502 or 512. Maybe even 531 if you have muscular legs.
All three styles feature a tapered leg. These are slim, but not skinny. Almost as if you had your 501s tailored to look better. Kind of like the old slim fit 501s from the 80s and 90s.
I remember my Mom did school shopping out of the JCPenney catalog. You could get your Levi's jeans in regular or slim fit. I think it was around the year 2000 Levi's discontinued the slim fit option. And then a few years later introduced the 511 slim fit. Man those original 511 jeans were the best. 511's have changed over the last decade. They're loser than they used to be and not as tight of a leg opening. That's why I mostly wear 502 or 512 jeans now. Slim taper is the way to go for me. I want my jeans to have a clean, classic look to them.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

And here’s me who totally isn’t into skinny jeans. I get so uncomfortable when they are sticking to my leg from almost everywhere. Into more into regular fit and straight fit but there aren’t those many options available. So me finding jeans is like an event for my parents as they always say get more jeans you’ve got just 6-7. 😂😂
I don't usually wear skinnies either. More of slim and straight guy. Honestly 6-7 is not bad, as long as you have a diverse range of colors. I have like 30 pairs of jeans but 99% of the time, I just rotate between the same 3 pairs 😂
