I am really enjoying this little tidbits of the upcoming books. Since it's like little bits of lore you should know segments from Dragon Talk. Even after the book releases I would still listen to Chris, Ari, and the other designers talk about any D&D topic and be enthralled.
Let's see... Harengon - Viera Lizardfolk - Bangga Orcs or half orcs - Seeq Fairy - Moogles Goliaths - Galka/Rohgardeyn Tabaxi - Mithra/Miqote Gnomes, halflings, or goblins - Tarutaru/Lalafell Elves - Elvaan/Elzen Yeah, we now have all the player races needed in 5e to reskin for all the nonhuman races from final fantasy 12/tactics advanced and the two final fantasy mmo's.
@@jacobm1011 I mean full-on angel, not half of one. if they're allowing full-on fairies as a race then they should at least give us celestials. at least in my opinion. Celestials are my favorite creature type. edit: I really do hope that they give us that, but if they cant then I guess ill be fine, I don't want to harass anyone and I don't want anyone else to either. its wrong.
Would be cool. I can understand how it would be tricky to work in characters who are natives to the outer planes though from a game mechanics standpoint. From what I remember, if you kill a celestial, demon, or devils form away from their home plane, then they don't truly die but return back at home. In most campaigns you would be handing those player characters functional immortality and the potential to split from the paty at first level.
@@veemie8148 well… how I would do it it would be a great safety net for death by bad dice rolls. Should an Angel PC die in any way, they instead are sent back to their native rendered alive but powerless for a certain amount of time while they recover.
@@veemie8148 the thing about outsiders is unless they're high level spellcasters (which most of them aren't), it's VERY hard for them to get into the Prime Material. That's largely why D&D worlds aren't completely overrun by demons and elementals and whatnot
ONLY THING I could wish for besides these would be new subclasses based around Fey magic or something of the sort, but thats just me. I know how it can be really hard to integrate that sort of thing into the game, and maybe they’ll add fey magic spells to each spell table or something, but I love me some subclasses. honestly you could just put chapter 1- the carnival chapter- into any campaign, and have a fun carnival session. If you don't want to send them into the feywild they could just have a fun time at the carnival and then leave.

Such a shame we cannot get a fey source book rather than an adventure. Not impressed by any of the published adventures so far, have all needed a lot of effort to fix the problems and cannot be run out of the book, so refuse to buy any more of them.
Hi I been lucky to play DND a couple of times. Hope to play again. Looking to join a party from Gatineau Quebec Canada. If anyone wants to start a quest
Chris you said Rabbit folk are charming but the very rabbit on screen has a hot Branding iron (?) as a weapon? How … charming? I get the idea that these rabbits are more the “sharp pointy fangs” kind and not so much the Samurai or top hat “I am late” kind.
plat a whole game without resorting to violence? do you mean the Houserule that's older than non-TSR D&D that states that "if you beat an encounter using your wits, you can the equivalent Xp of that encounter, so fighting a bridge Troll or negotiating with it ammounts to the same level of success"?
No combat? No gory dismemberment and bloody end to your enemies.. sounds like the office.. no thanks.. I play to do heroic fights.. not be like.. in the office..
You have the option of doing things non violently. You can still go into the first encounter and start swinging. Personally I was thinking about running the adventure twice. One non combat (for as long as possible) and one full on murder hobo campaign.
"They're appealing because they're small, not tiny" THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH FAIRY! they're meant to be tiny, people want Tiny, have you never looked at homebrew races? there are so many Tiny races or Small races that are to be treated like tiny. Fairy is a well known race both in other systems and in curture, they are expected to be Tiny, people want the race to meet the names expectation. Like don't suddenly decide to make Elves 2 feet tall and Dwarves 8 feet tall, keep things how they're meant to be. Mate I have no idea who you are but I can tell one thing, you have not played much D&D and if you have I feel sorry that you haven't been experiencing the whole world of D&D that lives outside the books. Dungeons and Dragons a fantasy roleplaying game, sometimes you have to accept that and allow people to play Tiny or demi-Tiny races, just like Golaith is demi-large, let people have fantasy and roleplay in their games.
"I have no idea who you are but I can tell one thing, you have not played much D&D" - he says to literally the Senior Story Designer of D&D and lead author of multiple 5e published adventures, who has been designing and writing about D&D in official channels since 1988. @@satiricalbard1 And yet you haven't proven that they've played a single game of D&D None of that has anything todo with roleplay and playing fun and intresting characters, that's more about rules and stuff So what you've pretty much done is confirmed that his no fun to play with as his a rules lawyer, but that's just what you said
@@satiricalbard1 I've got a question for you, is he the guy that thought it was a good idea to make level 2 PCs fight an adult dragon? Because if he is that would also show that his a terrible DM as he doesn't understand how to balance encouters, or atleast he was as that is rather old adventure

1:25 Chris's side-glance of uncertainty after this statement is so good xD
they'll still kill them. Especially young new players who know you're supposed to destroy the bad guy like its a scary bug.
Everything about this book seems just so incredibly good
lol. 3:28 "a retired performer " shows guy in full clown costume. that's his retirement clothes? LOL
Maybe it's some form of tradition among clowns to wear clown-related things after they retire
Or maybe he "was retired" as a euphamism.
Or maybe that's not a costume and he just looks like that.
Sounds like the violence alternatives make this adventure particularly suitable to run it for kids. That'd be awesome, a must.
This is a great immersive video, Chris Perkins delivers once again, and can't wait to play my first WBW game.
I've always said there's three parts to DnD; Challenges, Conversations, and Combat. Too many DM's only believe in Combat
Let's see...
Harengon - Viera
Lizardfolk - Bangga
Orcs or half orcs - Seeq
Fairy - Moogles
Goliaths - Galka/Rohgardeyn
Tabaxi - Mithra/Miqote
Gnomes, halflings, or goblins - Tarutaru/Lalafell
Elves - Elvaan/Elzen
Yeah, we now have all the player races needed in 5e to reskin for all the nonhuman races from final fantasy 12/tactics advanced and the two final fantasy mmo's.

As a DM. My players always look for no- solutions and it's often works. I love that they don't judge monsters and animals just by they appearance.

I wasnt interested in this book, feywild just isnt my thing.
But non-combat rules for encounters, that is actually interesting to me :)
