  • Well... it's here. For better or worse. While I do like the figure, for $95 it isn't a value. See: S.H. Figuarts Gomora for another example.

    BEFORE YOU COMMENT ON THE VIDEO ABOUT "REEEE ANOTHER S.H. MONSTERARTS REVIEW STEVEN DOESN'T LIKE ANYTHING"
    Kiryu is $96.99 at MSRP. Ask yourself; is this figure on par with Kiryu? Action figures have improved since then.

      I don't think you don't like anything, I like that you are harsh on figures, it really separates you from all the other reviewers out there. Reviewers in general are too afraid to say what they really think about a product, and I love your channel because you don't care what people think about your opinion, you just let us know what you think about something. Thanks for this review, Steven.

    After watching your review and others, I strongly prefer my Chogokin MG 1975 over this release. Paint on that one is not as shiny as this, the mouth is on a hinge, decent amount of diecast, and accesories. Would be nice to have a flight stand like you said

      I'm extremely disappointed thus far. I don't have the figure yet, but I was considering on getting it over the summer so I can pair it up with my Bandai 1974 Godzilla.
      Now, I'm split between getting this or the '02 Godzilla (SpaceGodzilla and the new Kiryu are outta the question.). The latter figure has a better price and the sculpt looks absolutely _Incredible_ (no doubt it'll have derp eyes but W/E XD).

    No Mecha-Godzilla figure besides the Soul of Chogokin figures have really convinced me. And this SH MonsterArts version is also subpar in my opinion. I have MG2 by SoC and it's my no. 1 Showa Mecha-Godzilla. He looks really awesome next to the new NECA Godzillas. He also comes with a piece of Space Titanium and some extra parts to recreate scenes from the movies.

    Very fair review, this figure is nowhere near perfect but it's also a relief to see there is some good qualities about it but that price point, YEESH! Man, this video makes me wish I picked up Kiryu when he released rather than spend what I did on the aftermarket a couple of years ago.

    15:36 Actually, it was $44.83 when it was up for pre order. Now it moved down from 95 to 85 today on amazon. I do hope that they would remake this figure again, but with better paint (I love the shinning silver), eye beam accessory, better articulation (instead of the rings, they should use something else), and most importantly the size (as a Heisei Godzilla size).

    They should have glued all the rings together or had them peg in somewhere on the arm. Problem solved. Also a weathered version would be cool.
    As for the articulation.....it’s Showa Mechagodzilla. Did he articulate that well to begin with? Though the jaw should probably be on the hinge.
    Lastly, I’m beginning to think they make the Showa figures small to scale with the old Revoltech figure, but it’s the only reason I can come up with.

    I feel like we are getting the same paint scheme that we got with Kiryu. Original generally didn't have the best paint and was without shading. Then we got Heavy Arms Kiryu. That one had great shading! But it made sense that they would do that then because the original Kiryu was released very early in the line. This far in the line, they should know better by now.

    • @StevensToyReviews
      @StevensToyReviews  6 лет назад +2

      Nah, the original Kiryu actually had paint detail to it. Heavy Arms was meant to be a mix of normal and battle damage. The issue here isn't whether or not it *has* shading/weathering, but whether or not it's appropriate. In MG74's case, it isn't

    • @switchboard1551

    Part of me thinks the Chogokin Mechagodzilla 1974 seems to be the better figure than this and only drawbacks is limited articulation and the fact it's huge. More funny is as of this time of posting, the Chogokin is cheaper in the aftermarket than the SHMA (Including the Chrome Version).

      Unless you already made a vid that I'm not aware of, it could be a decent figure fight or compare vid (Aware you had the Chrome version at someone point from one of your older vids). I only have the Chogokin Mechagodzilla on hand currently and not the SHMA. I only state the comment earlier by face value and quality reasons from what I've seen from the SHMA Mecha here and other channels. But would be funny for the now 20 year old Chogokin was better than the SHMA outside the obvious drawbacks.

    • @onionking6486
      @onionking6486 Год назад

      Wanted to add two more minor thing's if there ever was a figure fight and have no idea if the SHMA Mecha Godzilla can do this. But the Chogokin's knee spikes can come off and give off the appearance that he fired his missiles from there like in the all out attack he did against Godzilla and King Ceaser at the end of the 74 movie. Also the neck can plop off to also give off the effect of when Godzilla rips Mecha's head off at the end of the movie as well so you could consider both the mentioned thing's as a "Accessories" in the figure fight tab even if they already built into the figure.
