This particular watch is gorgeous indeed. Perfect “island watch “ for kind of “Caribbean Summer “ or any other vacation without crowd. Good companion for a cigar+rum. And you will always be in touch with your time zone. 😎
I have a 2018 datejust 41 and there is something wrong with the movement. It keeps - 10 seconds a day. Have you heard about any issues with these new movements?
@@glennpowell3444 Who really buys these mechanical marvels on the wrist to tell the time super accurately. I don't. I just like them to be within +6 to 10 seconds a day. If they are better in thrilled.
Underdog .....I totally agree, I’m wearing it everyday. The two tone is a fantastic wearing all purpose sporty...dress watch. Several complications and nice adjustability in bracelet. Seventy hour power reserve and best feature it’s probably the last of the 40 mm wearable size professional series watches.
Glenn Birtwistle .....I was lucky the day I acquired my Root Beer. I was in the jewelry store getting a rubber strap installed on my 2008 Milgauss and tried on the new Root Beer that the merchant had. I asked him would he take a trade on the Milgauss, plus my other 2002 White Dial Explorer 2.... and he agreed. So I exchanged two old vintage Watches for the newer GMT Master 2.....CHNR. It was only in his store for three days. I’m delighted as I really love the new look and comfort fit. The other watches were also very good, although I had them for years so I thought I’d get something a little newer. Who knows this Root Beer might get larger one day if they revise the case size on the GMT’s making these 40 mm sizes more desirable. Cheers......good health wearing those lovely watches you’ve acquired. Definitely a good move.👍
Great review Paul 👍🏼 Really like the format. Short, punchy but containing information which you might not hear elsewhere. All very relevant and interesting. Please keep these coming 👍🏼
Hey Paul, There's another factor to add; number 11 = pleasure :) Being a 'Gold Bug', owning this model provides a wonderful way to enjoy both factors at the same time. In a World of current negativity, having the opportunity to purchase something that offers the elements contained in your presentation, despite the Rolex pantomime, seems to culminate in one of life's increasingly rare experiences. Thank you for all your exemplary efforts through 2020 and looking forward to your shared wisdom in 2021. Happy New Year Paul - stay sane & safe!
Love my GMT Master II Black. This one is a beauty Just wouldn't have any place to wear it. On the contrary my black can pretty much take on any mission I ask it to. Love how you did the review and scoring system.
Paul I love your reviews. This is great and I love the Serti dial vid you’ve just done. Question - can you do a Root Beer two tone video. Never seen you do one on that.
I saw my friends new two tone root beer last weekend and loved a lot more than I thought I would, so I think this in real life would be much nicer, can’t wait to see one in the flesh
As mentioned before, I bought new at £27k and sold 3 months later for no loss, because whilst keen watch people approached me often to discuss it, (one wearing a very high end Solid Rose Gold Patek Nautilus,) four times as many friends asked “why I had bought a fake a Rolex this time”? ... Half of them didn’t even know it was a Rolex. It became depressing. You’re spot on with the $ numbers though, and yes, it’s special.
Hi Paul ,A very impressive watch review.A superb watch and a different approach from your usual videos. It worked really well.Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.
Loving the Rolex rose gold just looks the business. Full precious metal jacket sports watches do turn up periodically in AD windows mainly as the pool of clients who can comfortably drop that kind of cheddar on a timepiece is a vanishingly small crowd. It’s a head turner and would look the part with a nice black shirt in a candle lit swanky restaurant glinting from under the cuff. Nobody does better gold than Rolex. It’s a timeless design that will still look as sharp twenty years down the road. One of the advantages of Rolex’s glacial change in design.
Just bought one of these myself. sold my solid gold blue submariner a year ago and got more back than I paid for it. picking the root beer up today. took a bit of time to get one. alright selling for £2k-£3k over retail online - which surprised me, as solid gold watches always dropped in price. my local AD is only getting one-two of these a year.
I own a February 2019 116710LN & a march 2020 no date sub. I am saving up and trading my 2 watches for this. It is absolutely beautiful. Very nice honest review. I'd buy an everyday watch to wear to be sensible as I hear you in regards to the scum bag factor being a 10! Thanks again Paul.
Enjoyed the way you rate it! Congratulations on the purchase. Stunning piece. Would love to see one of these in person. Saw a two tone rose/stainless DJ 41 and it was very tasty. Maybe not my style but a beauty. This GMT though, I think you're right..... the mates including this viewer, deep green with envy! Cheers man.
Just recently added this watch myself from my AD. He called and though I’ve already passed it up twice I do feel like it is getting less available. These are the watches I buy with my sons in mind. The gold gmt , gold skydweller. I feel like I need to add a yellow gold now since I have the white gold meteorite gmt. Just have to figure out which yellow to get.
For ongoing comparison purposes (somewhat irrelevant, but just in case), when totting up the total scores, shouldn’t the Danger Factor go the other way - ie 0 out of 10 as it is a negative factor?
I finally got the call for my batgirl. Perfect time for our 8 year wedding anniversary this month. I will be going in the ad with my 116710BLNR tomorrow to pick up the watch for my wife.
Paul, what about the two tone Sky Dweller black dial - do you think it will retain/increase in value as much as its stainless steel counterpart or is it likely to prove a laggard, in the same vein as the two tone Daytona? Thanking you!
Great stuff! I like looking at a real watch - with scratches, specs of dust, maybe even fingerprints. Rolex website pictures and graphics has nothing to do with reality - extremely retouched, if not outright a 3d rendering
Paul, I think you’ve found your niche in the watch review space. Keep these videos coming, please!
Not sure about that, but I'm happy to try!
I bought a brand new Rootbeer Everose Rolesor from my AD just last week. Love it!
Me too. Stunning watch indeed
Awesome! I got mine from the AD this year’s September
Aren’t you looking to sell it?

Not ideal but that's not hugely unusual for a Rolex either.

Glenn Powell they are actually back in fashion
This is a stunning watch that must be seen in person to appreciate. It gets tons of compliments. It goes well with black and darker toned clothing.
Thank you Paul, for a clear, concise and no BS review of this fine piece. Your observations as always are spot on.
Your most eloquent and to-the-point presentation. Excellent!
Holy Grail of modern GMT watches right there!
Great review! Night and day compared to your previous reviews! This was informative and with humour, also loved the beautiful videography. 10/10 👍🏻
Paul - Great intro and beautiful watch! Congrats !

EXCELLENT review. I love your perspective!
Stunning watch Paul! Be great to see your collection bet there’s some absolute gems in there😝
I have the two tone CHNR. Pictures do no justice to this watch. This is a must see in person. Truly the best GMT

Paul I picked up this watch this past Saturday and it was a fathers gift to myself. Absolutely a stunner. Love the review mate.
You can Find this GMT- CHNR in the shop window at the AD in Stockholm right now. Have seen it for around 4 month now!
some of them are not for sale only display peice
Rhoel G They have tried to sell it to me 2 times when I visited the AD. So it is for sale.
I’m going to Stockholm in November, so fingers crossed it’s still there then!
Amazing coincidence! Picking up a pre owned / worn CHNR tomorrow. Will be my first GMT. I agree it is a kitschy cool unique piece
Paul, the algorithm isn't showing your videos even though I'm subbed to you. I missed ya buddy! Bell turned on this time! =D
hi there which one should i get for keeping value GMT root beer half gold or 116503 black dial with diamond?

Hi Paul, personally i love it but it’s definitely a divisive watch
Paul, do you think it’s possible to get a small discount on this watch at an AD, as it’s full gold? And how much discount is attainable?
Depends on the model but worth a try.

Great review lovely watch. I have the yellow gold black face GMT. Agree with all your points, the scratches are a little soul destroying at first!
