Apparently, Rolex don't give you the original dial/hands or other parts they renew during a service back to you.
If true, that is out of order, as if you sell your watch at a later date, the new owner wouldn't have the opportunity to put the watch back to how it was, if they wished to do so.
Also what do Rolex do with these sometimes valuable parts? Throw them away? I think not if so is that not theft? Keeping your property and then selling it. 🤬
@@jfdomega7938it meant to be destroyed. But what happens behind the scenes is (especially in Asia), the watchmaker will work with the client facing person where they tell the customer things needs to be replaced or we won't do service. The parts that supposed to be replaced then gets swapped with other parts (bought in by the watch maker) to be used to proof internally it was destroyed the supposed to be destroyed parts then get sold off to grey dealer. I know this as my dad is a grey dealer in Asia and there were times where parts turn back up in the market when someone they know took their watches to RSC and was held ransom as by the staff as they won't service the watch unless they agree to replace perfectly good parts as they wanna sell them themselves

Great video guys learnt a lot from that! Rolex should have a separate area for vintage stuff anything over 25 years old should go somewhere else and handled completely differently with the original parts kept and maintained. Thanks for the video!

Had hundreds of watches me had Rolex omega you name it imo just get a g shock luxury watches are way to expensive and nobody cares the guy at the buisness meeting the girl you take on a date just don't care sell ya watches put ya dosh some place sensible get a g shock ya can wack it on and forget about it more accurate than and mechanical watch bomb proof you can wear an at a Barbie or on ya pals yaught who cares it's a watch does the job
You could now offer a "certification" service for a fee... surely?
I believe the Certs are included in Vintage sales. If somone wants just a report for their own watch, Mr Dowling obviously charges a fee for his time, travel and experience. Any questions give BQ a call. Cheers.
