UPDATE!: They now have volume control after an update within the app. Mine originally didn't have it out of the box but I do have a pre-released version too so keep that in mind.

**CORRECTIONS** With having a pre-release version mine did not have volume control out of the box(Which is when I shot this video). However they now have volume control after an update within the app!
Also, the original Momentum True Wireless was released 1.5 years ago(not 2.5) and had usb-c(not micro usb.)
Gamesky yes!
Howd u mess that up 🤦♂️
Love ur reviews tho:)
Nice. I was going to say kinda dumb to charge $300 and no volume when every other company has it. Might look into these!
@Papa Smurf that's a design defect with the hardware then! Not good.
Hi thanks for the review, any news on whether the case on this version has the constant battery drain where the earphones don’t turn off and remain on standby?
Correction: The OG True Wireless also came with a USB-C charging cable, not micro-usb. Ah saw your comment :D
Thank you
I swear to God I wanted to buy those 1st gens yesterday and then out of the blue had a change of heart and said to myself let's wait a little longer for the next-gen with the improved battery life and look here! It sure didn't disappoint!
Milad Rahim k
Yeah that extra 4 hrs is a big deal for me
Up to 6 hours on a charge !!! --> Maximum !!! ......... Noise cancellation is a bullshit ! - Another f. German junk on the market !!!
There is volume control, just tap and hold on R for volume + and L for volume -
Yes, it works now after the update. Mine didn’t have volume control out of the box
@@OfficialGamesky that could make it a winner for me now - Gamesky - way to get the reviews out so fast!
was wondering as i have originals,,as u say they have vol control....
Amazing how no one addresses if this unit has the same battery draining issues as the last one. 🤦🏾♂️
@@OfficialGamesky Same with the Sony WF-1000XM3. Volume control was added with an update.
Just found out fabric is aluminium fabric so this should not get grubby well if it does give it a quick wipe it won’t hurt it, see why they have made the colour darker gray to match the oxidisation color
I'm excited for these, hope Sony sheds some light soon on their next generation of earbuds too.
Excellent first look bro! Hopefully I get to check them out soon.
Your reviews is excellent too bro 🙏😝
@@mrmickey122 Thank you!
Damn, Gamesky, a champagne review on my beer budget!
Still much appreciated! 🍻
So basically, the improvement is battery life, ANC, and slightly smaller form factor. It seems like the sound signature is still warm and bassy and no improvements at the technical performance.
I just watched flossy Carter's video on these and they actually do have volume control.... You just have to press and hold on either the left or right.
Anthony Taylor yeah, I pinned a comment with that correction
German engineering quality... But expensive.
@@chrisgray3650 I love Sennheiser. They have very good sound in general. 🤷♂️ For me it's not junk at all..
German engineering is pretty good, but not up to Japanese quality IMHO.
Rubbish , the app doesnt work .no voluime control. I never buy Sennheiser earbuds. total rubbish
Sennheiser on top again
They are pricey...but these are the best
They were never on top. Lol had a lot of issues with the first one.
@@richmondmartinez170 Yeah I heard it had issues with the battery and the case. Hell I was going to buy last month, I need something with good sound. Every wireless buds I tried didn't sound great. I got jabra 75t, they sound good but they keep disconnecting. Is this an issue with all wireless earbuds?
I picked up the V1's for $170 at Best Buy, and resolved the battery drain issue by inserting a USB-C dongle into the back of the case. It fools it into thinking it's in charging mode, and prevents the case/buds from dying. I just couldn't justify the $300, since these aren't going to be my daily drivers anyways - strictly for when I have a few minutes at night to really enjoy quality music, after the family has gone to sleep. Buds+ and Jabra 75t's are my daily drivers, and they both are great at it. If you haven't tried Senny's yet, you'll be blown away by the sound quality and soundstage. Very impressive.
Am i dreaming? wow finally a sequel😍🤓🙃😎
Loved the video style! Different from your other ones! Outside of the office! It would be nice te see you do videos in different places! Thank you! I bought the Tevis 2 months ago, I don't have $300 to spend, but, am I missing a lot with the Tevis compared with these?
I returned my Sony XM3. I could not adjust the mids and not be harsh. They lacked detail even though the bass was amazing. Just ordered the the Senn 2 and I hope they live up to the hype. I’ll do a follow up.
Looks like I'm waiting for these to release. Was wanting to spend some good money on the best of the best in this category. Good review man.
They say that it is not on the app, but they do have volume control. You just have to keep it press, the right is to volume up, the left volume down
I thought that they are using a batman and robin connection:)is that true?
Can anyone confirm if these still have the annoying battery drain issue like the original does
They fixed that issue. You can fix the V1's by inserting a USB-C dongle, it stops them from draining when not in use.
The Sony WFXM3 is the current standard, can we get the comparison video between the two ¿
They do have volume controls. If you tap and hold the earbuds the volume goes up for right earbud and down for the left earbud.
The originals has volume controls on it (hold left for down and hold right for up). I not sure why the 2 version wouldn't....
They do after an update within the app. they did not right out of the box
@@OfficialGamesky I'm more than sure they did.
Gamesky, I bought 5 bluetooths based on your review. I really want to buy the momentum 2, but just can't do without your approval. They've made some updates and I really want to know what you think. Please do another full review!
1. The first Momentums TW have the USB type C too.
2. Those have the volume control, if you press and hold the right earbud the sound will go up, if the left one - down. As well as the first ones.
Other reviewers say you can only use the right bud alone
They actually do allow control of volume.
The originals used usb-c. Not mirco.
Yep, just pinned a comment with that edit
Do the earbuds magnetically stay in place if you flip the lid ?
They just arrived and i have to say im impressed. But i do encounter some stuttering from time to time. Sometimes the left ear suddenly loses volume but quickly recovers. Have i got a defective unit? Or maybe it has something to do with the aptx connection with my phone perhaps its not thats strong
How do they sound, compared to the previous Sennheiser momentum 1? Are they better or about the same?
Asianj3sus Same sound just with anc.
Does the Sabbat E12 Ultra have similar if not the same sound signature as this one? Mike Wat did a quick comparison and said that they do. I'm curious of what you think. Thanks in advance.
Can you give us a quick sound comparison between the originals and these?
Some of is don't value anc or extra battery life, but mostly sound quality.
How is the cabin pressure feeling with the Sennheiser? I run a lot and have been using the AirPods Pro which have little to no cabin pressure feeling. I don’t feel each step in my head. I’ve had bad experiences with other earbuds. But I like the previous Sennheiser MTW sound vs AirPods Pro.
Loved the review, Gamesky! Very detailed and informative, as always.
Plus, I really liked the few camera shots from outside of your studio. If there was one grouse that had in your videos, it is that you wouldn't have these extended shots where we could see you while you wore the earbuds. This video was fantastic!
I also loved that you made a part of your screen reflect the app. That's a smooth touch.
I think this is my first comment on one of your videos but I've been a fan for long!
Love from India!! Keep up the great work, love the reviews.
Great investment but for how long will the battery last? 2-3 years? Or am I investing 300$ for 5-7 years? It would make a huge difference
Great vid. Love the simplicity of your reviews. Question, you did a review on a pair of buds and you strongly compared it to these in terms of the sound signature but for the life of me I can't the vid. Which ones were they???
I got a question tho, did you also test this earbuds with Android devices or not? because Bluetooth codex like AptX, AptX HD etc won't work with an iOS device, thus won't give the maximum audio quality that this or most true wireless earbuds can
They support AAC so it'll be fine with iOS.
heyb0o0o0o0o0o0osS but AAC is not in par with AptX HD
@@Zeyek1 that's all Apple devices support other than SBC, they still have aptX for devices that support it.
The left has no audio though it is working .I put them on my Mac whilst watching the true wireless on youtube and to my surprise is no more working .They have been working okay .Is it connected not to work when you watch your new product on youtube
I'm very excited because you didn't seem to note anything being veiled during noise cancelling
I was happy with that as well. NC on most products start to bury details
I have 2 questions. How long does it last with ANC on and did they resolve the battery draining problem?
DOMAT they say the draining problem is gone, and mtw2 will last 60 days in waiting mode after fully charged
@@LinkinAndryPark oh wow thats great news. Thanks man
My favorite headphones to use is the Skullcandy Crusher Evo headphones with the bass slider all the way up and the volume at max on my iPhone 12 pro Max. Will these Sennheiser Momentum 2 earbuds give me a similar volume and bass level as the Skullcandy Crusher Evo headphones?.
Hopefully the 3s have stronger noise cancelation , smaller case and more battery life. I think alot more people would buy it
Great video and awesome to see you still crushing these reviews dude!
I LOVE my Sennheiser True Momentum's but I love the Sennheiser True Momentum 2 even more ! I can't wait to buy them !!! Who wants my previous version when I have bought the new ones ? :p
I'll def take them :)
They are not released yet. You can't love something you never had.
@@h1a8 yes bro but I have the Original Sennheiser True Wireless 1 (first gen) and what I heard about the second gen is phenomenal, that's why I'm going to buy the True Wireless 2 when they come out and sell my TW1
@@joshuasmith29 would you give me 50€ for them ? They have no scratches, 100% intact and still have guarantee.
Joschka Lutzer i would
Hey Gamesky, just wondered, what’s the bass like compared to the Liberty 2 air? The LA2 are bassy enough but just wondered the difference between the Seni’s?
I can't believe it 😍😍😍
Okay Sennheiser, okay. Now Bose needs to come out of hiding and give us more info on their new earbuds.
And hell yea.
I know they're trying to stick with some uniqueness but I was not a fan of those bulky headphones hope they release something smaller
@@Thalor They are working on two new sets of truly wireless earbuds that were both initially supposed to of been released last year, but Bose delayed them into this year. They are smaller than Boses current truly wireless earbuds and one pair has ANC. CNET wrote an article updating what they know, because people reached out to the guy that showed them in a video and he said pretty much that Bose has delayed them to work more on them and they are currently scheduled to release sometime this year. They are called the Bose 700 earbuds, there's a video too on RUclips.
How big are these compared to the Lypertek Tevi?
The original features AptX Low Latency, but correct me if I’m wrong, this one only features standard AptX?
You're correct, that's right.
They do have volume control. You have to tell and hold either earbud for the volume
I got these for 200 dollars brand new off of best buy is that a good deal? They were on sale today. I didn't wanna spend full price just to save money.
Good for smart TV?
Of course. But if you have low latency Bluetooth on your TV, you may want to consider the V1's instead, since they dropped low-latency mode on the V2's. They'll still work fine, you just may notice people's lip movements don't line up with what you're hearing all the time. I don't find this to be a big deal though, barely noticeable.
You stated you can use the left or the right earbud independently, but from my understand these are a master/salve setup up, not independent.
You have to pair the left earbuds separately thru your Bluetooth settings. It shows up as LE-Momentum TWS 2
There very good and the price will go down in a little while. So be patient and bye them a little later.
What is that headphone hologram back there ?
And do you think it’s worth upgrading from the original Momentum TW ?
I know these aren't in the same class...but I picked up the Votomy V-22 earbuds you reviewed and I am ridiculously surprised at how good they are. How would you say those compare to these?
There is volume control. A friend of mine has them and tap and hold will lower and raise the volume but he said it doesn’t say it on the box.
I was sure I’d get the Gen 2. But as an owner of TWO of the Gen 1 I’m not seeing enough improvements to run out and get these. Treble bumped too high is the only detracting with the Band & Olusfsen Beoplay e8 buds. Other than that the e8 are pretty close to the sennheiser TW. I think I’m going to wait for Sennheiser TW 3 or 4 to upgrade from Gen 1. I would buy them at full price as a first time buyer but as an owner of the original TW, I don’t see enough improvements to run out and get the new SENNHEISER TW2.
thanks sharing , how about the background noise /electricity current sound level of this earphone?i hope its small
Can you connect them to multiple devices at the same time. I hate the fact that I have to turn off the Bluetooth on my iPad to connect my current ones to my Android or vice versa depending on which device I used last.
Cleer ally plus vs Momentum True Wireless which one sounds better ?
Awesome review. Great production.
Just in case u haven't notice the mistake, the previous momentums also had a usb-c charging.
Thanks for that. Just pinned a comment with the edit
@@OfficialGamesky Thanks!
AND they came out 1.5 years ago NOT 2.5 years ago. As usual, a review that's light on...well everything !
Are they compatible with iPhone 10xs max
Yup.
You said you can use left or the right individually but these will only let me use the right one by itself. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere?
Go in your Bluetooth settings and pair the left separately. It’s listed as LE Momentum TWS. You will only have to do this once
@@OfficialGamesky Thanks. But for some reason that isn't showing up. I can't pair just the left.
Can’t wait!!!
Do you find them louder than the previous model? Thanks in advance
Same volume.
The mix quality seemed decent. How is it compared to the airpods?
You didn't compare the sound details to the first gen. Is it worth the upgrade or do the sound the same???
it is a first look, but I think he will comparisons soon.
He did mention that it is one of the best that he has heard so I would assume that it would be better.
Search youtube for comparisons between both versions. Most folks say the V1's sound a little better.
The mic sounds... very compressed, but I think ur opinion on the sound quality made me want to buy them :D
I'm new at TWS ,,confused about this or elite 75t??? Any suggestion
It does have volume control hold right or left down. Volume will go up and down
I pinned the corrected comment
How do you compare these with Jabra elite 75t active? Just bought my new Jabras 2 days ago and I won't mind to exchange them with these if it worth it
The 1st Momentum's had very good sound over the earbuds that came after them but lacked the features. Now they sound good and have the features and i'm hopeful for firmware updates that can improve them. Give us a new app and dark mode inside the app, add Noise Canceling modes for extra blocking even if it takes a lil more juice from the buds and these might be top 3 of 2020.
$300 in 2020 and no LDAC playback. Unacceptable
Great review bro
Wish you could help out, I have the sennheiser momentum tw 2, I keep hearing an echo. How can I fix it?
did they fix the case problem?
@Gamesky Did you notice white sound during testing ?
The first generation was really bad for anyone who wants to use them for running, unlike the Airpods Pro. Is the second generation better for running?
No, they're too big IMO. These are for sound quality enthusiasts really, and aren't designed for active use. You'd be better of with some Jabra Elite Active 75t's - great sound, plenty of volume and bass, and they'll stay in your ears all day without having to make adjustments.
Hi Gamesky if it's ok I would like your advise on getting some budget earbuds. I'm Looking at the spunkybeatz and the earfun free in which is better to suit my needs in delivering the best quality of sounds for metal music and provide best for consuming video content with little to no lag???
I would highly recommend the EarFun Free. They are excellent with metal and I didn’t experience any lag with videos
@@OfficialGamesky Thank you I really appreciate it . And truly enjoy ur reviews!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🍻🍻🍻 they are very informative and just fun to watch. Keep up the amazing content.
Escott Coleman thanks for the kind words!
So im pressured here. Right now i got 200 bucks for the first generation. I really really wanna buy them now. But i need advice. As much as i want to buy those, you think i should save up a little longer for the extra hundred bucks?
I think you will be just as happy and can save $100 by getting the 1st gen
@@OfficialGamesky Oh really? Cool ill think about it
Thank bte
Btw
Finally got someone to cover the rest of the 300 bucks omg im so excited
I’m going to sell all my other headphones! All of them, then I’m gonna buy these. So awesome.
Still waiting for the review on soundcore spirit dot 2....Really hope can see it soon
been thinking between them or the galaxy buds +
One question. Are they better than the Airpods Pro???
Been a huge fan from Sennheiser and have more than 10 headphones including the ie800, until I bought the MTW 1, which was flawed with the battery both the headsets and case. The major problem was not the 4 hours, but a design flaw. It is impossible to completely shutdown the L unit which has 20% less battery capacity than the R. In 24 hours the left drains 30% of the power even when "shutdown". I cannot carry the case when commuting, so in a 8 hour working day I always ended up with 0% on L and 40% on the R, when I listened less than 2 hours of music. Sennheiser instead of admitting their mistake, promised it to be fixed in updated firmware until they gave up and started to call it a feature. The passive noise isolation was perfect, better than the Sony WF-1000XM3 with ANC. In version 2 they fixed the battery, added the ANC gimmicks and took off the crucial volume control. How smart...
yeah so you we paid more for "new ones" those should be made for the first MTW, now should I bought the seconds :(
Great video but how secure are they in the ear vs the sennheiser 1
Would the microphones be better than the Galaxy Buds+ or the Jabra 75t? I honestly feel for true wireless earphones, microphones have to be very good. Thus far based on reviews, I feel the Galaxy Buds+ blows away the competition. But then again, for others it might not be about the microphones.. Like to know your opinions on this.
The Galaxy Buds+ have the best mic out of these
Do these have independent connection or do they have that batman/Robin style connection?
Did you watch the video
Can you use the left or right by itself ?
Are they better than the airpods pro?
Daniel Benavente without a doubt....yes
Please let us know if the Momentum 2 TWS has any reliability problems like the first one.
None that I’ve seen but it’s early. I haven’t seen any battery drain issues yet
Is this better than Nuarl n6 pro? I dont see many reviews on the the N6 pro so i guess it will hard to compare.
I have always wanted the Sennheiser momentum wireless but haven't been fully convinced but these seems almost to good to be true but that shows in the price 🤯 I think I will have to think about it a little more 🤔
How come other reviewers claim that these buds cannot be used individually?
@gamesky you shoot from the hip which is one of The reasons I keep coming back to your channel. Do you think these sound bland compared to the Gen1’s
Thanks man, these definitely don’t sound bland and I like them over the originals
@@OfficialGamesky thanks Gamesky voice of sanity
I have the 1st generation and it is USB type C for charging the case.
Yes, I’ve fixed that by pinning a comment with that correction at the top
Is your favorite word "definitely"?
Hi I hope you answer I found a Sennheiser momentum special edition the I wanna ask you if the are real specially the package box is different !!??
I don’t recall their being a special edition
@@OfficialGamesky ok thank you but I wanna know if the are good as the regular especially for 90$ ??
@@fonezone8701 There's no special edition of these buds, you must be looking at some fake knock-offs.
What does added warmth mean in reference to the audio?
It means that the sound has a roll off in the high treble, therefore sound dull, lifeless and it is not crystal clear. Some people have fatigue to the treble and prefer this sound, but it means that it is not hifi which should be neutral :)
@@r0m0x I thought that it means that it added more emphasis to the bass and lower mids?
