*Hey everyone, HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT DETAILS!* 1. *These DO NOT have the same battery drain issue* that was seen in the originals. Sennheiser fixed that and from my testing so far, they are holding up well! I will continue to test these extensively and report back my findings! 2. *IT IS A MASTER AND SLAVE BUD CONNECTION* as I mentioned in the video. If you watched Flossy's video and were confused by how he showed the buds working independently, I was too. I spoke with Sennheiser and they believe he did not place the earbud in the case correctly, and thus the right bud never disconnected. They assured me that it is a master/slave bud connection, so placing the right bud in the case will disconnect both earbuds, and no media will play on the left earbud. 3. *These have Bluetooth 5.1*! This is a subtle improvement over BT 5.0, but it is certainly worth mentioning 4. With just a few clicks, you can help a poor wired-earphone user in need by sharing this video with them! All joking aside, if you enjoyed this video, please consider sharing it with a friend. It really helps the channel out and I will greatly appreciate your help!
Thank you for the upload and good review.. so at this moment I charge my airpods pro case one in two/ three weeks. Is this the same this version? The first momentum’s were on my nerves charging them almost each day.
I really like your reviews. You don’t play some kind of loud or obnoxious character like other channels do. Plus, you give a lot of info that is actually useful. Today I realized I wasn’t subscribed to your channel. You have a new sub now. Great work!!
Great review! After watching this video, I ordered them .I was ready to buy the Sony’s for around 200 (and not the 1st gen Sennheiser because of the battery drain issue) but you made me realize that these extra 100 euro are worth it for the gen 2 Sennheisers. Great reviews keep it up!
@@lujorom9172 no lag at all (using them with iphone 11). Very happy with the quality of sound, battery and calls. There are two issues though. First, I see compared with the airpods pro my brother has, is that there is a delay in starting a connection.( if someone calls and _then_ I wear the earbuds, there will be many seconds for the bluetooth conection to occur, where with the airpods pro is instant.) And second, every time I change between my iphone to ipad or TV, I have to pair the earbuds everytime, you cannot have 2 connections together. I was ready about these issues before i bought them (saw the reviews) so it doesnt bother me, but it may bother someone else. Other than that, Great GREAT sound!
@@konstantinospatsis8048 Thank you for the quick answer! I don’t think these issues would bother me too much (I hope not). It is important to me though that there’s no lag when watching videos cause I am a film nerd and that would definitely suck when watching Netflix. Anyway, thanks.
@@konstantinospatsis8048 Hey, I’ve got a different question now. I’ve not them and I can hear a little bit of white noise especially during quiet or calm songs. Do you experience the same? Should i return them or would you say it’s normal for Bluetooth earbuds?
This is one of the best and most thorough reviews I’ve seen on audio products. Subscribing just off this one video!! I love the thoroughness and attention to detail. Also really appreciate that the facts given are correct. Just came from another video that was giving misinformation which is terrible lol it’s the only thing people are looking for and I can tell Mike delivers on that. Very awesome and professionally executed review! Well done!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Jonathan! I spend a lot of time testing and confirming information and it means a lot to have people recognize and appreciate that in my videos. Thanks for watching and subscribing!!
casse82 just watched that part of the video. I’m concerned that flossy didn’t put the right earbud back in the case fully and turn it off. If you pay attention to when he puts it in, the logo on the earbud is crooked when it’s in the case which could mean it wasn’t seated properly. 🤔
@casse82, I reached out to Sennheiser and confirmed that the information in my video is not false. Sennheiser confirmed that I was correct and it is not possible for the left earbud to play music while the right is in the case. Sennheiser believes he may have improperly placed the earbud in the case, and thus the right earbud never disconnected (and was not charging either). This is a master-slave bud connection, and for more information, please check out the user manual: assets.sennheiser.com/global-downloads/file/13878/M3IETW2_Manual_EN.pdf
Going on day 3, sound quality is top shelf. Only issue is the call quality. I learned I was twisting them slightly in my ears causing the microphone to be blocked, so I twisted the other direction (clockwise) just a hair and it helped. The setup diagram shows a counterclockwise twist, and I think that may be incorrect. Guess that might depend on the angle you insert them in your ears. The Sennheiser logo should be horizontal when in your ear. The EQ is a little odd, I had to boost the treble a bit for my taste.
@@MikeOBrienMedia they are nice but I'm a 1000xm3 and galaxy buds + man because of the updates. No volume on the buds are a bummer too. That's what I heard from other reviewers. I'm not ready to jump ship, yet.
It still has the same volume adjustments by press and hold, but this function alone is not customizable. So it has not been present in the application.
Yeah as Leo said, I'm not sure which reviewers said you can't control volume but that's not correct. I use the tap and hold to change volume all the time. It works well
I experienced a glitch with them that I actually liked and am trying to figure out how to replicate. Basically the hear through, ambient, or transparent volume, whatever you want to call it, went way up to an ear splittingly loud volume. It was cool to be able to hear other people’s conversations easily from a distance tho. I’ll be trying to get them to do that again, hopefully not quite as loud tho this time.
Nice touch on point 5! lmao I bought them with next day air. I've been doing hvac installs for years now and sanity preservation is crucial; whether it be to drone out a short term memory guy you work with or to balance out the fun surprises.
Hey, I’m also in the HVAC field! I do service work in an industrial setting so I am in all sorts of positions and worry about security in the ear. The AirPods Pro are awful for staying in my ear. I tested the Bose qc earbuds and loved them but I was hoping the momentum’s would be a smaller more secure fit. How do they work for you?!
Brad Davister I think the value is definitely there on them. The only time they’ve fallen out is when I’m wearing a beanie because of the adjusting. They’re pretty comfortable and well designed in my opinion. My favorite part about them aside from the kickass audio quality is the fact that they’re so jampacked with technology. The proximity sensor automatically pauses music when you take them out, albeit you cannot use just the left earbud, due to the way they’re set up. The Bluetooth connects faster than any other device I have and the tap functions of each individual earbud are really convenient. The sound dampening and sound enhancement are really nice too. As far as battery life goes, I got through about a week on one charge with them at an average usage of 3 hours a day. And I’m sure you’re happy to be out of crawlspaces and attics in your industrial setting, lol. Stay smart out there.
@@aquattadomdren6760 you bet! After multiple knee surgeries I couldn’t do the residential anymore. I worry about the battery life. I have my buds in all day long, I’m curious as to how long one charge of the bud lasts. AirPods Pro had about 4-4.5 hours
@@braddavister137 28 hours It includes a USB-C-charged battery that can hold 28 hours of earbud charge (or four charges of the earbuds). Gotta love google, I knew it was 28 hrs though. So that would be 7 hours per earbud each charge. They have the latest bluetooth tech, I think its 4.2 or something, so you can see your battery life of the pods on your phone. And that's awesome you're still at the trade, all things considered. I couldn't do my job without my KP KneePad pros, but I hear the yellow, articulating, bionic-looking ones are good too, they have 1" of gel cushioning. I'm due for some new ones. I've been in the trade for 3 years, I'll do another few I imagine; before I make any moves fully apart from, or further into, HVAC. I enjoy it a lot, but its kind of like clockwork at this point. TOOL definitely helps pass the time!
Hey Mike, hope you are well! I’ve luckily got the MTW2 in white and they look really nice. Only been using them for a few days but they feel more comfortable than the Gen 1’s. Sound wise I’d say the Gen 1’s were a little more punchy, but I just use the equaliser to get the sound I prefer so it’s not a problem. The main features I love over the Gen 1’s is the ANC and the smaller more comfy fit. So loving then so far, for anyone with the Gen 1’s if you can afford to sell them and pay the difference for the Gen 2’s it’s worth the upgrade in my humble opinion. Oh and I hated the battery drain of course on the Gen 1’s which has been resolved. Thanks again for your review video!
Great review, really covers all the issues you might have with earbuds. I wanted great sound, so checked Jabra, Sony, and Bose--but these really deliver. I just got mine and immediately noticed the lag but only in the earbuds' voice prompt. However, after I updated them to the latest firmware, it disappeared. Yay! Sennheiser must have addressed it. No matter. The sound produced is broad, deep and just great.
Michelle Rhoades Okay so you would say the lag is definitely gone? Because I wanna buy these but I’m not spending 300€ if the sound on my Netflix isn’t lip synced lol.
So cool that you got to give your initial impressions and make a review. All the other reviewers are dying to get their hands on these . I just bought Jabra 75T? How do they compare? Is it worth returning the Jabra and getting the Sennheiser Momentum 2? Eat that Jim’sReviewRoom.
The Jabras have a more powerful bass, but the overall audio profile and quality of the sennheiser buds is superior in my opinion. It depends on what type of music you like, but it may be worth returning and buying the Senns. I will be comparing them in a new video coming soon!
I will be comparing these to the AP Pro very soon! And I might work on a Sony comparison soon as well depending on what other products come up to review
Yeah I am with you there. Sennheiser is pretty much the closest to perfect right now. Mono connections, and wireless charging would make these unbeatable!
Hello, Mike. I'm a bit late to this excellent, informed review. I am considering buying these on Amazon, but only need them to use on my Philips smart TV, via Bluetooth. (to drown out noisy neighbours) Do you know if they're good for using on TV's?
I came here off the Best of 2021 video, liked the idea of the quality on these, but the case seems larger than I’d like. Is there anything off the cuff that has a similarly high audio quality, but a more compact design?
Some buds actually do sound better outside. It is so weird and I struggle to understand why that is. The voice isolation software must get confused when there is little ambient sound
Just ordered a pair never had earbuds or earphoneLove some good music especially with picking .we will see how good they ares ,I am a sound tech type person #1 reason I am getting them, also would like to answer phone calls when driving.
I finally pulled the trigger on these and I wish I hadn't mainly because of all the dropouts. I went for my usual 15 minute walk and had about 10 dropouts. I have about 10 other pairs of earbuds and these are the worst as far as dropouts. My Jabra 85t work fine along with every other pair I have. I read other reviews that state the same problem. I think they should be louder also. I seem to have them on 100% volume most of the time. I love my JBL Club Pro+. They are super loud and sound fantastic. I am going to sell the Sennheiser's.
Yes they do! I know that the app did not show it in the video, but I have been using that feature since I first opened them. I assume the app will be updated shortly to resolve that discrepancy
@@gepardtilly Do you think this is something can be fixed in future software updates? If you were to pick one for the sound quality will you go with Sny WF-1000XM3 or these?
@@gepardtilly it's of course all subjective, but I thought the sound stage of the new version is improved over that of the original one! Not massively improved, but better still. Mixing your opinion and mine means they are probably the same, with longer battery life and ANC on the plus side of the 2.0.
@@rmasoad I can't compare with the Sony. The ANC is weak for me, I don't hear any difference on our off in any situation. Call quality is one of the poorest, people complain on my calls. Comfort is better than v1, and no battery drain issues.
@@gepardtilly Why on earth they would make a newer version sound worse? This doesnt make any sense. Maybe you've listened with ANC on? Thats different story, cause ANC is known for distorting the sound.
Have you listened to the new B&O E8 (v.3), and if so, how would you compare these to those? I really love the B&O sound signature, but also really like the Sennheiser sound. That said, this would be when comparing those two brands in their over-ear models. I do currently have the E8 (v.3) and like them, but could be persuaded away if these were drastically better?
@@krystiankorecki9976, I have always really liked the B&O sound signature, but it's not for everyone. It tends to be a tad on the bright side, but also very well balanced. The bass is wonderful, so long as you have a tight fit with the ear tips. This is the trick, and will make or break the sound. They look incredible, the charging case is nice and small (and leather), with wireless charging. The app could be a tad better, though they have said they will be continuing to improve it… to which one major update has already happened, so that's good. I am not able to compare them to the Senn's since I don't own either generation of those. That was why I posed this question in the first place. I hope that Mike will chime in and say a thing or two-if he has even listened to the B&O E8's that is. For me, I do like the overall quality of the B&O's, but they lack proximity control, ANC, and the ability to use the left earbud by itself. On paper, the Senn's win out. In sound quality, I have no idea which would be better. My guess is they are both incredible. As far as AirPods are concerned… if you are planning to use them for long phone calls and such, I don't think there is much on the market that can beat them for that. For music, there are many options better, including the E8's. And as far as looks… that's for individual preference. I prefer the subtlety of the B&O's. Cheers!
@@kevinholliday2066 ohh thank you for this text!. I only need earpods for music. What you choose b8 3.0 vs airpods pro - i mean what is better for music, nothing else. Do you have any music delays/lag on yt or spotify when you use b8?
@@krystiankorecki9976 I've not noticed any delays at all. With the Bluetooth 5.1, you should be just fine with videos and things like that. They are expensive, that's for sure, and at $50USD more than the Senn's that are featured in this video, those might actually be a perfect choice. I mean, the Senn's have ANC, as well as the ability to use either the left OR right earbud by itself. The B&O can only use the right earbud by itself, as the left must be paired to the right. But again, I do love the sound signature of B&O and it's unlike many others. If you are okay with not having ANC, as well as spending a bit more, then the B&O's really do sound amazing and are worth it in my book.
First thing: Great review Mike! Second: I bought a set, I own the momentum 3's and these rock, truly great sound and sound stage. I hope the MTW 2's has the same sound or better, Sennheiser has been around a long time and known for quality!
Hi Mike I just got these your review helped me decide; I’m having a problem getting them to be loud enough though with iPhone and iPad any suggestions?
In the review posted by Flossy Carter for the same earbuds shows that you can listen to either of the earbuds alone (left or right). You just have to put the other one back in the case.
can i use them independently for phone calls? for example can i use the left one until the battery runs out and switch to the right one while the left is charging? again just for phone calls thanks.
Mike I was sold on the Jabras bunt just found out I need reconstructive surgery on my hip so not so active for a few months so sound is now more important that sport capability, love the bass on Jabras but audio books podcasts etc are an issue without ANC (thinking hospital rooms). I love my Bose 700 soundstage but sometimes I miss a little more bass so Jabras are fun buds but maybe Sennheiser the better choice if sound just went to the top, any opinion?
@@MikeOBrienMedia Thanks for the quick reply Mike I always enjoy your reviews both in terms of style and content. The one thing that has concerned me is I have seen a couple of people asking if the Gen 2's are any louder implying that the volume wasn't great, is the volume equal to the Airpod pros/Jabras as if I use with "passthrough" on for safety and awareness I am often down by the beach and the surf is quite noisey so ANC will handle a little but of course surf on sand is a quite high frequency whereas these I believe are more aimed at lower machinery type noise reduction and don't have the higher frequency suppression of the Sony or Apple chipset.
How is the cabin pressure feeling with the Sennheiser? I run a lot and have been using the AirPods Pro which have little to no cabin pressure feeling. I don’t feel each step in my head. I’ve had bad experiences with other earbuds. But I like the previous Sennheiser MTW sound vs AirPods Pro.
Yeah I was very excited when I first heard about these. Incredible sound quality, and now ANC, better battery life, and many other improvements! Hard to beat these!
I’m really tempted to buy these but if there’s really a lag when watching videos that could be a deal breaker for me. I wouldn’t want to spend 300€ if my videos and sound aren’t in sync. Is it really a problem or can I buy them because it’s barely noticeable? I don’t play games, I’m thinking Netflix, RUclips and video calls.
I got one but it seems the microphone is not working! It was working at the beginning now I need to take out the right earbud and hold it in front of my mouth when talking!!! Is there anyway to check the microphone quality in the app or a clue to debug this issue?? :(((
Mike how intrusive is the low vol white noise for podcasts and audiobooks? Bit surprised on 300 buck buds they have any maybe a burn in time will remove it may just be a bit of signal noise while it’s settling
Great Review! Have you made an actual phone call with these? I had the second gen and nobody could hear me when I used them. Especially on a windy day.
Obviously you're not going to buy them for mic quality. But I'll still replace my older Momentums if they've fixed the battery bleeding while inside the case.
Yeah the audio quality is the big seller here. There seem to be no battery issues from what I can tell so far, but I'm staying on the lookout and will update accordingly
I have not tried the nuraloop earbuds, but I am skeptical that they will sound better than these. Sennheiser has really owned the game when it comes to sound quality in true wireless earbuds
I was wondering if I can use the mtw2 for working out or running? Also if the mtw2 have drain battery problem like the first one. I'm asking because I'm planning to buy ones. Thank you
Have you ever reviewed Earin earbuds? I have the gen-1, it was basically the first ever to mark truely wireless earbuds. I got them in 2015. They suffered many flaws and the price point was very high at around 300. But they were cool for what they were at the time. They now have the M-2, version 2 earbuds. I'm curious what you think of them and how they compare to these (Sennheiser).
Thanks! It is looking like no multi-pairing. I am unable to connect to two phones simultaneously :( It is hard to judge the volume between the two since the bass is so much bigger on the Jabra Elite Active 75t's, but I am unable to reach max volume with either (both destroy my ears at ~80% volume) The Jabras seem slightly louder though
@@MikeOBrienMedia i heard there were problems in the first version regarding the connectivity and pairing( I think it gets lost between devices neerby or something like that) Is it the same this version ?
Does the left ear bud keeps dying ? On the first gen it always dies even when off when you store away for couple of days. It’s because it rests on signal from right earbud
Hi great review thanks you have a new fan 👍. Any idea if the case has the constant battery drain as the earbuds trickle charge, like in the first gen? Cheers!
I believe they did. From what I can tell, there are no battery drain issues yet. I am still studying it closely but after 4 days of use (with 4+ hrs of listening per day), the buds are still at 100% everytime I take them out of the case
Mike O'Brien cheers top man and thanks for the reply, I appreciate you will be busy 😃. With the Gen 1’s the earbuds would be fully charged for 2-3 days, but I then found the case battery had completely drained and then not long after the earbuds themselves. I read in the Gen 2’s manual that they arrive in a deep sleep mode and go into this state when fully charged in the case. So appears it’s a deep sleep as apposed to a standby mode which sounds a lot better for battery consumption 👌
Other reviews i watched says that there is no latency lag when watching youtube videos, but you mention there is a slight lag? Just want to seek your advice as it is one of my priority features when looking for a TW earbud.
My 2 gripes with these is very nit-picky but a deal-breaker for me: 1) They look very big and bulky which make them stick out from your head especially if you have smaller ears 2) The call quality is very off-putting because I use earbuds to make conference calls and these wouldn't make me feel comfortable that the person on the other end can hear me well
Yeah those are the two big struggles for true wireless earbuds. You might have better luck with either the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ or else perhaps some wired headphones to be honest.
Call quality is extremely poor, useless. So listening to music, call comes in, I need to switch to wired. After two days of telework, I had so many complaints people not hearing me... And the ANC does almost no change to me. At least it is more comfortable than the TW1.
Had the same issue with call quality. I discovered I was twisting them and covering up part or all of the microphone holes, so I think it’s better now. But not any where near the call clarity as the air pods pro. Also, I noticed you need to accept an incoming call by tapping on either bud; if you accept the call on your phone the call isn’t connected to the buds unless you manually switch them in your Bluetooth setting. That’s annoying.
I watched the Flossy review on these as well and he showed them working independently of each other. So you should be able to use either one by themselves
I just saw that too. If floss is right then these are as close to perfect as you can get. I have a feeling you need to connect both independently. So if the right connects first then the left is the slave. You would then need to connect the left after placing the right in the case. A minor annoyance, but should work. That's how my lypertech tevi's work anyway.
I'm not sure what Flossy did, but I am certain they do not work independently. Only the right connects to my phone and if I do the same test Flossy did, it disconnects and pauses. The left bud says "disconnected" Perhaps it is because he has an iPhone?
@@Triple-6 Yeah, I think it's best to let Mike and Flossy iron this one out... before we buy these... just in case. And yes, calling the company will probably be of little use- because they might not be aware of the issue, or like you said, depending on who you talk to-- you could get completely different answers.
I reached out to Sennheiser about this, so I expect I will have an answer within the next few days. I will post it on my channel community tab at that time!
Just got mine today. Personally, the stock ear tips are terrible. I switched the stock ones to the CX 300B MK II tips and it was phenomenal after that. Absolute beast earbuds!
I've tested the sennheiser mtw 1 and the Jabra elite active 75t. The sennheiser was a bit too large while the Jabra's fit nicely. Is the ear fit of the new sennheisers similar to the Jabra's or is it still larger?
The mic absolutely sucks. I have recordings made on 3 different sets from different people and they are far worse that some earbuds I have that cost $30.
Thanks for the review. I want to ask you a question. i will appreciate if you can answer it. What is the size of the new mtw2 compared to jabra elite active 75t in your ears? Elite 75t fits in my ears with the smallest sponge of it. I had to refund elite 75t because of the charging issue in case so i need to choose between elite active 75t and mtw2. Thank you again.
can you tell me if the lypertek tevis charge in this new senhieser case ? many thanks ! i lost my tevi case and rather buy different earphones with charger for both the connection looks identical
What exactly do you mean that you can't use the left earbud alone? because ive seen a different videos and they were able to to listen to music on the left ear bud alone
It may be because the video you were watching was using an iPhone. When I take the left bud out and place it in the case, the left bud says "disconnected" I reached out to Sennheiser for an answer on this but for now, assume these do not have mono mode
UPDATE: Sennheiser confirmed that I was correct and it is not possible for the left earbud to play music while the right is in the case.
Nope! No issues at all. But I did notice that you sort of need to tap more slowly when double or triple tapping in comparison to the Galaxy Buds. The GB+ need very quick taps or else it registers as a single tap while these need slower taps to correctly register commands
@@MikeOBrienMedia thanks ..I have the Lypertek Tevi IEMs and love them so far, but these definitely have some nice extra features. Don't know if it's worth paying 200 more dollars though. Thanks for the reply!
Just bought them but the volume at his maximum Is SO LOW! Is It the same for you? Please let me know of is It my pair or do you exipirimented the same?
The Jabras are smaller and lighter so they are great for working out of course, but these fit very similarly. Besides the weight, they are barely different for working out. I have tried working out with both and neither falls out while running, lifting, etc. If working out is your primary concern though, the jabras are definitely designed for workouts while the Sennheisers are not really marketed for that purpose. The extra bass also makes my workout music more driving/motivating
Yes they did! I should have mentioned this in the review but Sennheiser fixed the battery drain issues (the buds now go into deep sleep mode while in the case) and pairing issues are no longer as well. These use BT 5.1 and from my experience, have no problems. I am currently testing these extensively and will update as I learn more. Essentially though, Sennheiser seemed to have rushed the first gen to the market and clearly there were some issues. Then waiting 1.5 years to release these, it is obvious that they really spent a lot of engineering effort to make sure they were perfect. And so far, it looks like they succeeded
I did not have any latency issues with videos, but when I paired these and the airpods pro at the same time on my phone, I noticed that the airpods were slightly ahead of these (suggesting that these have more lag than the AP Pros). I don't actually play enough games myself to test this for you, or else I would but I hope this answer helps!
AirPods is good at its features.. can anyone tell me at a time how many device can be paired to MTW2, does it have audio sharing feature like AirPods,, does it features live listening option as AirPods does..

Saiko2019 Alex I ran a few miles yesterday, didn’t have any issues with them moving or falling out. I’ve struggled to keep my left AirPod Pro in while running.
I had the original momentum wireless buds, they broke recently and i tried out air pods pro. Once you have had sennheiser audio quality in ear buds, it's hard to go to another brand.
*Hey everyone, HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT DETAILS!*
This is a subtle improvement over BT 5.0, but it is certainly worth mentioning

Love the review but wanted to clarify on the cross in the eartips (speaking as an audiophile)
Those are actually to improve acoustics in sound!!
Definitely the best review I’ve seen on these earbuds! Great job:)
Mike O'Brien it definitely shows! Too notch! Keep it up I’m routing for you!
Funny, I was just coming here to comment on misinformation in this video. You can actually listen with only one earbud, as seen in Flossy's review.
casse82 just watched that part of the video.
They improved the call quality a bit with the latest firmware update
Almost bought the first ones a few days ago. Then saw this!
I ordered these because of your review. Thank you 🙏 I love them 💕💕💕 great sound quality in my ear and comfort as you mentioned.
Good Review! Definitive points not usually spoken about!
Thanks, Keith! Do you like these buds?
@@MikeOBrienMedia they are nice but I'm a 1000xm3 and galaxy buds + man because of the updates. No volume on the buds are a bummer too. That's what I heard from other reviewers. I'm not ready to jump ship, yet.
It still has the same volume adjustments by press and hold, but this function alone is not customizable. So it has not been present in the application.
Yeah as Leo said, I'm not sure which reviewers said you can't control volume but that's not correct. I use the tap and hold to change volume all the time. It works well
@@MikeOBrienMedia Thanks for the correction!
@@braddavister137 28 hours
It includes a USB-C-charged battery that can hold 28 hours of earbud charge (or four charges of the earbuds).
Good to hear! Thanks for updating us on your experience!
beaniemac83 do you notice a lag when watching videos? As if they’re not properly lip synced or is that not a problem?
Hearing this using Senheiser TW 2. They sound far better than any other wireless earbuds.
What other wireless earbuds you have?
@@jansojele289 Doesn't have another headset :D
@@heavenfly do you have the Sennheisers?
So cool that you got to give your initial impressions and make a review. All the other reviewers are dying to get their hands on these . I just bought Jabra 75T? How do they compare? Is it worth returning the Jabra and getting the Sennheiser Momentum 2?
Eat that Jim’sReviewRoom.
The Jabras have a more powerful bass, but the overall audio profile and quality of the sennheiser buds is superior in my opinion. It depends on what type of music you like, but it may be worth returning and buying the Senns. I will be comparing them in a new video coming soon!
Nice review. Just bought these. I hope the microphone is better now due to updates...
Excellent review man. Would love to see a comparison between AirPods Pro , Sony Wireless earbuds and these.
I will be comparing these to the AP Pro very soon! And I might work on a Sony comparison soon as well depending on what other products come up to review
There's volume control just press and hold. Great reviews 👍👌😀
Yes. You can adjust volume by tap and hold
Yup and the apple does not... big advantage
didn't expect this review to be as great as it was, but this was absolutely fantastic. subscribed
Thanks for the review! I have the wf1000xm3 but I may grab a pair of these
The sony's are great, but I think these might have better audio quality. I recommend them for sure!
Great review 👍.
I used to have the same EQ setting for my MTW.
And now same for my Momentum wireless 3 😁
Waiting for MTW2 🤞
Nice! Thanks for watching!
Please do a video on best neckband headphones!
The tech chief pat. Great review man really helpful
$300 and still utilizing a master-slave setup should be inexcusable but these do so much right I might pick up a pair anyway.
Yeah I am with you there. Sennheiser is pretty much the closest to perfect right now. Mono connections, and wireless charging would make these unbeatable!
@@MikeOBrienMedia would like dual device as well for completeness wonder if it’s hard to do with but 5.1 paired with 5.0 devices
I'm buying these rn
Sounds amazing
Hello, Mike. I'm a bit late to this excellent, informed review. I am considering buying these on Amazon, but only need them to use on my Philips smart TV, via Bluetooth. (to drown out noisy neighbours) Do you know if they're good for using on TV's?
I came here off the Best of 2021 video, liked the idea of the quality on these, but the case seems larger than I’d like. Is there anything off the cuff that has a similarly high audio quality, but a more compact design?
sound better outside. .will seriously check them out. .thank you
Some buds actually do sound better outside.
Does it support multiparing?
Thanks for the awesome review!
From my testing, these seem to not support multipairing. I am unable to connect to two different phones simultantously :(
@@MikeOBrienMedia wonder if u can connect to a phone and a pc as pc uses different blue tooth profile normally?
Thank you for your great review. Could you please compare sennheiser with jabra elite active 75t?
I have both sitting right in front of me right now! I will most likely be making a video about that soon!
Waiting for that comparison(Jabra 75t and Senn2)
Also compare with the Sony MX3
Would love to see a video comparing these to Jabra 75T.
Be great to see your review of this
I finally pulled the trigger on these and I wish I hadn't mainly because of all the dropouts.
Those do have the volume control, if you press and hold the right earbud the sound will go up, if the left one - down. As well as the first ones.
Yes they do! I know that the app did not show it in the video, but I have been using that feature since I first opened them. I assume the app will be updated shortly to resolve that discrepancy
Review on these with software 4.6.0 for call quality is much appreciated.
Do they sound exactly the same as the old MTW? I've seen other reviews saying they don't have the same depth and sound stage as the old model?!!
I find the first gen has a bit better sound, just a little bit.
I do currently have the E8 (v.3) and like them, but could be persuaded away if these were drastically better?
can you say maybe something about bo e8 v3? I must choose bo e8 v3 vs airpods pro. What you recommended?
@@kevinholliday2066 really thanks brother for help. You wanna buy Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2?
First thing: Great review Mike! Second: I bought a set, I own the momentum 3's and these rock, truly great sound and sound stage. I hope the MTW 2's has the same sound or better, Sennheiser has been around a long time and known for quality!
Thanks, James! I am glad you liked the video. Enjoy your new earbuds!
Hi Mike I just got these your review helped me decide; I’m having a problem getting them to be loud enough though with iPhone and iPad any suggestions?
Did you get a solution? I have the same issue
@@mr.p1493 nope unfortunately
If sound is important, the Sennheisers will not disappoint. I have listened to quite a few earbuds, and none compare to these when it comes to sound.
I have had trouble getting the touch pads to work properly. Sometimes tapping does not work properly.
Finally. No doubt they have the best sound quality. Even the old ones beat out the Sony.
Yeah I was very excited when I first heard about these. Incredible sound quality, and now ANC, better battery life, and many other improvements! Hard to beat these!
Sham Hosein They beat the B&O E8 ?
@@ddanbeatz186 sound quality yes. The e8 is great but sennheiser takes the cake. Those are two of the top earbuds for sound quality.
Would like to know what you think about the Master & Dynamic MW07 Plus. In the same price range as these Sennheiser earbuds are they the better deal?
I have the Creative Outlier Airs, and the sound quality is amazing. Not sure if I should grab the Sennheiser momentum TW 2's.
Can you connect single bud by just using the master bud? And how would you compare the ANC to the new Sony true wireless ones?
How do these sound compared to the Momentum 2.0 on ear Sennhesier headphones?
The thing that all reviewers miss the mark is testing the microphone. How is the mic?
He test them in this video. Better watch them or search on RUclips.
My respect after hearing you mention Dave Matthews Band!
I might cancel my nuraloop preorder for these. Is there any chance the nuraloop will sound better?
I have not tried the nuraloop earbuds, but I am skeptical that they will sound better than these. Sennheiser has really owned the game when it comes to sound quality in true wireless earbuds
I'm doing the same. Nura has struck out and lost the game with their constant delays. Been waiting for these anyway.
I was wondering if I can use the mtw2 for working out or running? Also if the mtw2 have drain battery problem like the first one. I'm asking because I'm planning to buy ones. Thank you
Get the momentum 2 I think I’m getting those too!
Is there a possibility that they will be able to connect to multiple devices after an update in the futur?
Good review as always. Couple q’s Can they pair with multiple devices, what’s the volume like compared to say Jabra Elite Active 75t’s
Thanks! It is looking like no multi-pairing. I am unable to connect to two phones simultaneously :(
It is hard to judge the volume between the two since the bass is so much bigger on the Jabra Elite Active 75t's, but I am unable to reach max volume with either (both destroy my ears at ~80% volume) The Jabras seem slightly louder though
EDIT: I misspoke. You can definitely pair more than one device, but multi-connection is not supported. I can only connect to one phone at a time.
@@MikeOBrienMedia i heard there were problems in the first version regarding the connectivity and pairing( I think it gets lost between devices neerby or something like that) Is it the same this version ?
Great review!

Thanks! From what I can tell, no :( I am unable to connect to multiple phones simultaneously with these
Does the left ear bud keeps dying ? On the first gen it always dies even when off when you store away for couple of days. It’s because it rests on signal from right earbud
Nope! Sennheiser fixed the battery drain issues on these
Hi great review thanks you have a new fan 👍.
My 2 gripes with these is very nit-picky but a deal-breaker for me:
1) They look very big and bulky which make them stick out from your head especially if you have smaller ears
2) The call quality is very off-putting because I use earbuds to make conference calls and these wouldn't make me feel comfortable that the person on the other end can hear me well
Yeah those are the two big struggles for true wireless earbuds. You might have better luck with either the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ or else perhaps some wired headphones to be honest.
@@MikeOBrienMedia Thanks for the reply. How do you rate these compared to the Jabra Elite 75T's?
I have small ears😳pass......
The left bud says "disconnected"
Perhaps it is because he has an iPhone?
I think Flossy was using and iPhone. So, is ghat the only way independent connection works with these... and not on Android?
@@Triple-6 Yeah, I think it's best to let Mike and Flossy iron this one out... before we buy these... just in case. And yes, calling the company will probably be of little use- because they might not be aware of the issue, or like you said, depending on who you talk to-- you could get completely different answers.
I reached out to Sennheiser about this, so I expect I will have an answer within the next few days. I will post it on my channel community tab at that time!
Hey when will be momentum 3 buds expected?
Just got mine today. Personally, the stock ear tips are terrible. I switched the stock ones to the CX 300B MK II tips and it was phenomenal after that.
Absolute beast earbuds!
I've tested the sennheiser mtw 1 and the Jabra elite active 75t. The sennheiser was a bit too large while the Jabra's fit nicely. Is the ear fit of the new sennheisers similar to the Jabra's or is it still larger?
You should re-test now with firmware update version 4.6.. mic quality is a lot better now.
The mic absolutely sucks. I have recordings made on 3 different sets from different people and they are far worse that some earbuds I have that cost $30.
Okay so can somone answer this for me? So can I not listen out of one earbud at all? Or just the one that connects to the phone not the other earbud?
which one has better sound quality? Bowers Wilkins pi7 or Sennheiser momentum true wireless 2?
sennheiser bro
Is it worth returning Jabra 75T and getting these Sennheiser?
that case charging is a big set back for me since im very used to that feature
Thanks for the review. I want to ask you a question. i will appreciate if you can answer it. What is the size of the new mtw2 compared to jabra elite active 75t in your ears? Elite 75t fits in my ears with the smallest sponge of it. I had to refund elite 75t because of the charging issue in case so i need to choose between elite active 75t and mtw2. Thank you again.
Erdi Eyiçıtak a simple google search and you get lists and lists of specs with this information in less than a second.
Mike after using for a few days now has the subtle white noise gone at low volume/listening to audiobooks and podcasts
can you tell me if the lypertek tevis charge in this new senhieser case ? many thanks ! i lost my tevi case and rather buy different earphones with charger for both the connection looks identical
How it's design and weight as compared to jabra elite action 75t?
Are they louder than the 1st generation? Thanks
Hi mike..great review..would u use these in the gym?
What exactly do you mean that you can't use the left earbud alone? because ive seen a different videos and they were able to to listen to music on the left ear bud alone
It may be because the video you were watching was using an iPhone. When I take the left bud out and place it in the case, the left bud says "disconnected" I reached out to Sennheiser for an answer on this but for now, assume these do not have mono mode
UPDATE: Sennheiser confirmed that I was correct and it is not possible for the left earbud to play music while the right is in the case.
Any issues with the touch controls? Gen 1 is a bit laggy/flaky! Like double tap not always working..etc..
Nope! No issues at all. But I did notice that you sort of need to tap more slowly when double or triple tapping in comparison to the Galaxy Buds. The GB+ need very quick taps or else it registers as a single tap while these need slower taps to correctly register commands
Mics sound pretty good. Would you consider these HiFi quality?
Yes absolutely HiFi quality. At least, the best you can get for true wireless buds. aptX is supposed to provide CD quality
@@MikeOBrienMedia thanks ..I have the Lypertek Tevi IEMs and love them so far, but these definitely have some nice extra features. Don't know if it's worth paying 200 more dollars though. Thanks for the reply!

For louder music and geavy bass Can someone suggest me what buds should i go for Sennheiser momentum 2
Are these available to purchase now?
You can pre-order them from the Sennheiser website (I added the link in the top of the description)
Just bought them but the volume at his maximum Is SO LOW! Is It the same for you? Please let me know of is It my pair or do you exipirimented the same?
The same
Issue I have. Did you get any solution?
@@mr.p1493 so it was an issues of the individual pair that you bought? Or it's general?
How is the fit for something like working out compared to the Jabra?
The Jabras are smaller and lighter so they are great for working out of course, but these fit very similarly. Besides the weight, they are barely different for working out. I have tried working out with both and neither falls out while running, lifting, etc.
If working out is your primary concern though, the jabras are definitely designed for workouts while the Sennheisers are not really marketed for that purpose. The extra bass also makes my workout music more driving/motivating
What about Bluetooth pairing issues
What about battery draining issues
Did sennhiser solve those problems
Yes they did! I should have mentioned this in the review but Sennheiser fixed the battery drain issues (the buds now go into deep sleep mode while in the case) and pairing issues are no longer as well. These use BT 5.1 and from my experience, have no problems. I am currently testing these extensively and will update as I learn more. Essentially though, Sennheiser seemed to have rushed the first gen to the market and clearly there were some issues. Then waiting 1.5 years to release these, it is obvious that they really spent a lot of engineering effort to make sure they were perfect. And so far, it looks like they succeeded
Mike O'Brien thank you for information
Do you know if location data has to be set to on for Android phones while using these?
How's the latency when using these for gaming? Still looking for a TWS which has relatively low latency.
Hi thanks for you're great review I have one question. I'm a bose user and I waiting for the new suond sport free. And I watching this video I Need to khow if them good for running and Intess workout and the quality of suond better Than bose? Thanks
Saiko2019 Alex I ran a few miles yesterday, didn’t have any issues with them moving or falling out. I’ve struggled to keep my left AirPod Pro in while running.
I won’t get another Bose sport free again. The rubber buttons crack and fall off. Can’t handle a lot of use
Does the detail and Soundstage get worse in tw2?
I had the original momentum wireless buds, they broke recently and i tried out air pods pro. Once you have had sennheiser audio quality in ear buds, it's hard to go to another brand.
so gen 1 have aptx LL but gen 2 don't have it? Ehh and i was thinking about buing them :/
Do the sennheisers fit everyone?
