      Amelia hit the nail on the head 100%; only Iga can beat Iga, which isn't gonna happen cos she takes care of her body & avoids unnecessary distractions. Which is why she spends her free time reading. Its funny how the vid in 8:46 says Iga wins GS cos she doesn't play Rybakina & Saba in finals. Well, both of those players have to get to the final first for that to happen. U can only play what/who is in front of you!

    Iga won 22 out of 26 finals on WTA level. It means she has won 85% finals, that stats is crazy I don't think that anyone in ATP or WTA had better ratio of winning finals. It means she has serious champion mentality.

      That's an impressive stat for Iga! She definitely has a champion mentality.

    • @jliang70
      @jliang70 Месяц назад

      And here is a thing when we look at peak Djokovic, peak Federer or peak Nadal then we do see the difference, these guys are consistently in the final of the four biggest tournaments that means Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open, how many times has Roger won the four slams, 6 times AO, 5 times USO and 8 times Wimbledon, we are not counting the finals. How many time has Swiatek been to the finals of those events? zero at Wimbledon, zero at AO and once in US. Federer has won 103 titles that include 20 of the biggest titles in tennis. Swiatek will only be worth mentioning in the same sphere as those three if she actually had comparable number.

    • @piqo44
      @piqo44 Месяц назад

      @@jliang70But I was talking about something different. There are many different aspects of mentality and this stats doesn't mean that she is best mentally in history in general sense (she barely turned 23). It means that when she gets to 2nd week of slam she will most likely win it, in this regard she is like Osaka who used either to lose before QF or to win grand slam. She is not like Serena who had great genes(she won 10 slams after turning 30), but Swiatek might be best in last few decades after Serena so definitely she is someone special.

    • @jliang70
      @jliang70 Месяц назад

      @@piqo44 Even if she gets to the later stage of slam there is no certainly that she will win it on non clay court surfaces. Swiatek will not be as good as Serena and I think we will see it when her clay court dominance coming to an end, she is more likely to carve out a career like HIngis or Seles that will be a major achievement for her, she is unlikely to dominate her peers and it is just her game shapes up against her current rivals and also future rivals.

      Coco has the right to block nastiness coming at her from strangers. People want to turn every social media account into the stocks, until it's their favorite being egged. Iga is already unstoppable. At 22 WTA titles at 23 is phenomenal. Swiatek is all business on the court. She may not always win but when she does win there is a strategy to be the best for a tournament. Swiatek also this year has learned to play "ugly" to win. I think Swiatek's team understand the importance of staying healthy throughout the tour and not just during the clay season. However, it is important to consider the hard work Swiatek has built to get this historic career started. Players have to play her feeling like their game can beat hers. Swiatek still has trouble with Rybakina and Ostapenko for a couple reasons. One, Ostapenko is the 2017 French Open champion. When Ostapenko wins a match, she is deadly on second serve, playing the ball early to hit a winner. Her unorthodox game has a high risk of errors depending on the surface which is why her consistency is limited on the tour. In additional, to losing to a dangerous opponent like Ostapenko, Swiatek is dealing with a player like Rybakina who I call the WALL. She has a big serve and her serve gets her out of trouble. She returns very well because of her height so she can get lobs back with ease. Because Swiatek's serve isn't the strongest, Rybakina can easily pick off her first or second serve. Now while Rybakina has the head-to-head against Swiatek, her match win on the tour is still good but she has struggled in Grand Slams and 1000 event finals since she won Wimbledon in 2022. Iga's record will be more solid in tennis history than Ostapenko and Rybakina based on her mental toughness and high match win rate throughout the tour. While Swiatek is still developing her game on grass, she has a good grass game to get to the second week at Wimbledon. Iga's game does fit the Olympics since the Olympic matches will be at Roland Garros. Best of luck at the Olympics Iga!
