Daily Practise - Copperplate

  • Today’s daily practise.
    Looking at finding a way to be calm as soon as it get into the studio.
    Copperplate script is not easy to write and is possibly the most destructive on the hands if you refuse to relax.
    The fineness of the nib also shows shaking more readily. Balancing this is a real issue. Breathing and relaxing is so important but not to the detriment of writing calmly and accurately.
    A phone in your face does not help! Lol!
    Hope you are all practising well.

    THAT is not what my daily practise looks like. Thank you. And again for your beautiful manual. I have several books I had used previously. Now I realize they have served their purpose in teaching basic strokes. Otherwise, they are no longer useful. Your opus is my go to. Videos like this one help me focus.

    Lovely as usually!! What nib do u recommend for Copperplate? Mine are junk and I have no idea what to get. I’m a lefty if that matters. Thank so much!!

      Hi, I was reading in pascribe's manual that the hunt 22b nib is what is generally used and recommended by him

      @@danharu995 there is a series here which looks at all the letters in their groups. It was done around March 2020. Have a look at those the explanations are in there.

      I admired by your writing and voice ;) . I like your explanations too. But for me, as non englishspeaking person, was very difficult to understand your explanations without visual presentation in the end.
