Now...the question of reliability? Not the best reputation with Rovers, be prepared to pay Rover maintenance costs

@@eduardogiordanelli2680 Oh but this time it's different, right? Lol Rovers bring much work my way, leaking valve covers, leaks on fuel lines, always a check engine lights on between the 40k & 50k mile mark, love the look of the new Defender but cannot purchase one due to the reliability reputation

Good job LR. It looks good and has little nonsense. Hopefully the reliability is good. The air suspension would be my first worry as it costs a fortune to repair. I'd say a risky move if improving reliability image was a goal.
Another one is DI issues but that's similar story in most new engines.
The hybrid options should be very popular. It works well in the mountains.
Hopefully there is a option without air suspension. I would love to see more Defenders still on the roads still in good condition after 10 years of service. I'm tired of seeing Toyota LC everywhere. :)
Personally, I prefer the split tailgate and the tire under the vehicle. With the same length of the vehicle, there is more space. It also stops the rain from entering the vehicle and improves rear visibility. People have different tastes and I understand it. It is just for me when I go outdoors a barn door is just a massive pain when walking around the vehicle packing for hiking or camping. :)
Anyway, good luck. I liked most of the LR products whole my life. I wish you well. Hopefully I'll see few of them on Japanese roads. As I've said, I'm tired of seeing Land Cruisers everywhere :)
Well, the reason you see Land Cruisers everywhere is their reliability. Many of them have driven 300.000km plus without any major issues apart from oil changing etc. Anyway, if the new Defender is as good as the old one, well still see 2019 models around in 25 years. Im gonna wait till then, many of my friends have had huge issues with Land Rover reliability and service nowadays. Greetings from Germany

@@nils895 iv had both and cruiser wins hands down, there is not one thing landys are better at.
The new Defender has the option of coil springs. Also a rear-mounted tyre is much better for access and interior space than a underbody-mounted wheel. Also allows for more room for suspension and diffs etc as the Defender has short overhangs. Plus makes it look more like the old Defender.

JLR ...a TATA product now. Uff can't express my happiness. Though it shares its pedigree from British counterparts. A company that creates benchmark in SUVs and a company that has made benchmark in the domestic as well as offshore markets.

As I first saw the new defender I was seriously impressed and blown away by the design. I consider to buy a new car within the next 5 years. My car (Opel Astra H GTC 1.4) is now 14 years old with 230.000km on the clock, but I dont think it is going to see the 300.000km mark. Looking for durable and reliable car´s made me look to Toyota and we had a closer look to the Toyota CHR, which is a nice car for us. Then I saw the new defender and just thought, forget the CHR. Even if I have to spent nearly as double the money as for the CHR, I would prefer to buy the new Defender. I hope if we are going to buy the defender it will last for the rest of my life time, or maybe I can give the car to my kids when I am to old to drive. This is our reason if we would spent the money for a new defender. I hope not to buy a new car again (I am 40 years old), and that´s why we would be ok with spending more than 50k+€ for it, which we weren´t before till we saw the new Defender. Maybe it´s just marketing and they now just playing with the good reputation which the old defenders had. Or maybe my expectant attitude is to high to expect that it is really going to last that long with all the electronic in it. There is an old defender driving in our neighborhood since more than 30 years. And they got it from their parents too. They go camping with it couple of times in the year and it never broke down or had anything and they will keep it until it dies, but it doesn´t obviously. Do you think I can expect that from the new Defender too? Another advantage we see, if we are going to buy the new defender 130, is, that we don´t have to buy a camper trailer or a separate camper van. I just can´t wait to do a test drive and check everything out. And after that I just have to convince my wife, and she likes it too (more than the CHR). The only problem I see is, that the more you expect the more you are going to be dissappointed when something is wrong. Please tell me, Land Rover, can I really expect all that from the new Defender or is that too much to expect? Thank you

the most thing i worry about is the air suspension，i got a L322 range rover equips air suspension，i drive it for daily use majorly on the good quality paved road，but it still leaked once，and it costs seriously expensive：（
