    Great vid!
What I’ve learned over various backpacking trips is that less is more. Bring clothes you can just put on- don’t have to coordinate. A couple sweaters, max 5-6 shirts and I will likely only wear 4-5 honestly, bottoms- shorts to pants depending on destination, a few underwear/ socks. I’ve brought a scrubba bag to wash clothes. One swimsuit. Roll your clothes to save space and less wrinkles. A small dry sack for toiletries. TSA approved shampoo bottles for carry on. Keep important documents and electronics together in one bag. If your going to Europe- other countries too, there’s lots of stairs so a backpack is much easier. Refillable bottle. Max 3 pairs of footwear. Sandals (great for hostel showers), comfy runners and hikers (if needed) or another pair of sneakers. Pack towels- they dry quickly and save space.

What brand is that hat? Is it packable or did you wear it on the flights? I’m having such a hard time finding a decent looking packable sun hat! ❤

Note too, that whatever you use up in the way of toiletries, you can use the extra space for souvenirs to bring home!

I'm also a fan of packing videos! Thanks for sharing yours. Just out of curiosity, did you wear ALL of the clothes? Would you pack the same amount next trip?

Thanks for watching! I did wear everything. However, I think that was mostly because I made it a point to wear everything. I do think I could have gotten away with a few less clothing items. Next time I’d probably bring a couple less tops.

hmmm I wonder if your current carry on will be seen as a carry on by the airline. Your "personal item" seems like it conforms better with carry on standards.

Absolutely an important thing to consider. I made sure to read up on the airline policies we were using. We did not have any issues but I know the policies are different depending on the airline. The biggest thing I had to consider was if I was OK with having the backpack under the seat. It definitely fit there but it meant I had less foot space.

Love a packing video! I would never fit this much in a carry on. What make/model is this, looks like Away?

We have very similar packing styles with the throwing everything into a pile, but you are much better at reducing your options :) the past 2 times we’ve flown, my bag has been over the 50 pound limit (but Brian and I were sharing)

Haha, The 50 pound limit is definitely a scary moment at the register. Will I, won’t I? Nice that you share though. Ray and I rarely share bags for some reason.

Wow, you pack a lot! I am also a heavy packer. By the way, let me share with you the carry on bag that I love using for travel. It's a Nomad Lane Bento bag - been using this bag for months now and it is suck a hack. It has a trolley sleeve feature and fits under the seat too. Makes your travel more convenient.

5 pairs of shirt?? since when did shirts come in pairs? lol!! in addition not all tops are shirts! why didn't you re shoot the video when you saw your head was cut off and that was a kimono not a cardigan! You could have packed neatly and rolled the clothes tightly! you should have covered your shoes as they carry bacteria and dirt! all those bulky pouches/bags take up far too much space!
