It’s a contemporary look with white wall moulins, black marble tv unit with wood n metal accents. -What should be the colour of sideboard and sofa? -Should the longer seat of the sectional be towards the wall or the side of walkway? My biggest struggle at the moment is filling a bit more the open space, as we just moved in a very large apartment. We don't want to spend a lot of money in furniture as it is a rental, which makes it more tricky. I am planning to actually add an office/reading area in the center of the room, just behind the couch, to make it more cozy and still be useful and practical. From right to left: dinning, office/reading, living.

Hi Zaharia. I’m glad I found your channel, you are very knowledgeable and a good teacher. I been trying to decorate my daughter studio apartment. She loves mid century modern with a touch of glam. Can you give me some ideas on how to incorporate both styles?
Hi Maria! The most important thing on mixing two different styles it's to follow the 80/20 Rule. What that's mean? Well you should select your main style which is Mid Century Modern (A very stylish and sophisticated one) it will be your main focus and it will influence the choice on your color palette, kind of furniture, lighting plan, etc. The secondary style the (glam style) will ocupe the 20% of your room decoration, you will use Accent items in this style like statement pieces of furniture, bold lighting fixtures, and eye-catching, decorative pieces, etc. Always is about balance! You can check my video about interior design styles to check some ideas about color palette, furniture and details of both styles.

Hi Zahira, another great video. Have you ever done a design with 2 kitchen islands to split a large open plan room? I couldn't put the TV on a wall due to sun light so it had to be in the middle of the room, where I have my kitchen. Thanks

Hi! Nice to see you here again! I prefer the double height for the living room because make that space more monumental and elegant, for the dining room i prefer a more intimate atmosphere, great to share a meal and talk with your family ;)
