I've had a couple base model standard cars that were a blast on the back roads. My Cavalier RS with 2.4 Z24 transmission was probably my favorite. The RS had the base Engine with SFI instead of EFI 2.2 base. The RS had stiffer Springs, 15in over 14in wheels, and better 5-speed gear ratio but it was still a base. The Z24 transmission really peped it up.

Ive got an 01 Civic EX, that I swapped a 04-05 base rsx motor is, and I enjoy it very much. I also just recently built the 5 speed trans... synchrotech synchros, obx 1st n 2nd gear, obx LSD, and stage 4 cc clutch w/ lightweight flywheel. It runs low 14's on track right now...

@@AdamB12 Nah I've been messing with this thing for 100yrs, who knows how much little stuff I've done ha-ha. But the shop in the description I do run the majority of their parts for the major mods. They might can look up my receipts and see everything I've ordered from them if you ask.

that's straight, hey im on my way to buying a Honda civic, any advice on what model I should get? I am gonna be driving long distances about a hour to and from work mainly all highway got any advice on which model is best for gas yet got it a lil pep to its step when it needs to go
people who are commenting "dont have your hand on the shift will put wear on the tras" like boy you can only do that if you are shifting gear consistently and that what hes doing. it only a good thing not to do when your are not shifting gears that often

+Lizandro Ortix He's heel-toeing. Look it up. It doesn't damage your clutch. He's rev matching fine.
Anyways who cares those cars are designed to be beat up what kills a clutch is burning at high rpms , driving with foot resting on clutch pedal , and pushing clutch in when slowing down and letting rpm go to idle then dropping gear and releasing clutch to wake engine up to immediate high rpm. I dont worry people how they drive they car its there property i focus on my own car .

What did you have to do to replace the intake manifold I keep hearing it has to be tuned or use a different ecu because of the IMRC valve sensor
I'm running the stock intake manifold but yes I am tuned.

***** Ok well that's ok. I had a base stick shift for 7 years and now have the new 2016 subaru wrx which is super fast compared to the rsx. I still miss the rsx though. RSX resale price is really good! trade it in if you want a stick shift.Otherwise, enjoy it man. The RSX is special. Again, I drive a much faster car now with a turbo, but the RSX still catches my eye.

Kaiser yes but base does not have exhaust vtec. the motor runs on 12 vavles below 2200 rpm and will open up all 16 after that. it does not have bigger lopes for exhaust cams like the type s and type r

I got a rsx base with the k20a3 5 speed and I really want to get the type s transmission swap. How easy is it to get the 6 speed to work?
You only have to get the Type S shift gate (aka whole shifter assembly) and possibly a different cable. Honestly people do add TSX 6th gears to the K20A3 5 speed and change the gate and roll with that. You can find more info on clubrsx.com

Sam Adler nah stock, you can VTEC kill a car and daily driver a car, it's gonna have horrible low end and get teens MPG, it's all in tuning the stock motor.
What all do you have done to your a3? It’s sounds great. I have a base with HKS Hi Power catback, injen short Ram so far. What else do I need to buy to get it to run like yours? Sounds great!
Yeah you just need better bolt ons for power. Your car sounds good but I'm sure it's slow. The hks and injen are the worst performing parts on the market power side. You need something designed for the power I got mjr from the shop in the description.

@@hondamanvtec2894 he makes a valid point, you cant gut a 4 cylinders exhaust and have it sound even remotely ok especially the honda engines I find gotta have atleast a resonator or it sounds like tinny raspy garbage the second you step on it.

How does the a3 handle these revs? I hear horror stories on the forums about dropping valves and weak valve springs on the forums all the time. I'm boosting my a3, but I dont wanna push the revs too hard.
