This is one of the best produced videos I’ve ever seen on this channel. Sound, perspectives, drone shots and overall message along with an excellent personality. Great 👍🏽 job!
Kat really is the age groupers favourite. She is one of the few who has trained alongside a serious career, which makes her so relatable - and the fact shes so grounded helps too. A brilliant NATURAL personality and easy going attitude - yet underneath an insanely driven and ambitious athlete. Definitely the athlete that im happy my daughter looks up to. Not every sportsperson is a role model but Kat is.
I managed a 75km bike this morning and then met a friend for an 8.5km brick run at a fairly leisurely 5:20 pace. I have a gym session a bit later. That's a big day for me. I don't understand how these pros do this kind of volume and intensity. Incredible.
One of the best quotes I’ve ever heard was by Usain Bolt. A reporter asked him how he makes his races look so easy. I paraphrase, he said,“racing is the easy part. It’s the work behind the training that’s difficult.”
I could probably survive the bike ride and the run, but I think I’d drown in the pool. Her resilience and determination is absolutely amazing. What an inspiration.
Shouldnt both Matthews and Bloomenfeld's achievements be taken with at least a grain of salt? Yes the broke 7 and 8 hrs respectively but in very manufactured conditions. Kudos to them for being phenomenal athletes but they had A LOT of help that no one ever gets in "regular" race conditions.
She's so inspiring and just keeping it real. I really love that!
We agree!
Yes, Kat has always a smile 👌

The British triathletes are just so much more relatable/down to earth, well done Kat!
Spot on! My thoughts as well 👌
Good luck to Kat at the Worlds! Such a genuine sweet person and I love her determination!
Definitely! We agree!

It really is incredible!
They are full time also have naps, massages and recovery kit to help
@@gourami7 Nonetheless... I have to admit, even with all the naps, massages and equipment in the world, I'm not sure I could match them!
So down to earth. No pretence, no thinking she is better than anyone else. A really good video.
Thank you, Robin!
Well done mates! We need more videos like this One!!!
Super inspiring interview... new to the sport and joining my first race in a month!
We're super glad you enjoyed! Best of luck with your first race Lily let us know how it goes!!

Thats true for sure!
Kats amazing, love her content on GTN, wish she had her own channel
It would be great if she did!
Attitude is 60% of the battle. Go For It.
Kat is amazing. Great video GTN, a follow up would be great.
Do you think you could finish a single day of Kat's Training?! Let us know down below!! 👇

Never!😅 Great take on Kat Matthews. What camera did you use during the run?
What a woman! She has an excellent perspective
Excelente video... hermoso paisaje de lanzarote...💯🔥🔥💯🔥💯🔥
I love how she's training with Ruth Astle, and you can see her throughout the video 🥰
Her husband is a ledge on the ‘pro tri news’ podcast too. Check it out if you haven’t.
Kat is the best!
She's great!
What an inspiring person ❤
She is so cool!
What’s the split distance in the pool? 1:00/100m?
So how many run km she does per week if she says it is lower compared to the pros?
That would have been an interesting point to include. But we dont know the answer! It's certainly not holding her back though 😳 .
I run between 30-60km. An average week would be 45km but I occasionally do less or more (hence the 30-60).
having a background as a physio sure must be useful for a pro triathlete
Definitely! It certainly can't harm!
I think it does for sure! 🤓 Imagine having a Physio check up everyday 😅. Great yes, but sometimes too much analysis 😆
Where it is?
Sands Beech Lanzarote
Filmed in Lanzarote!
@@gtn Thanks. I've always wondered where that pool was that you're always filming at. Looks like a wonderful facility!
@@wilfdarr Sands Beach Resort 👌
👍🙏
Lush conditions for training. Assuming this is the Canary Islands?
Very nice, It was Lanzarote!
I've never heard that comment, "biking helps your running but running doesn't help your bike." #coachescorner is this true??

Fridge looks a bit bare for a pro triathlete..
All inclusive breakfast and dinner buffet does the trick mostly!
