    Pricing is once again terrible. They look absolutely fantastic from an aesthetic standpoint though. Strong pass. :(

    Great first look! I've got mine coming in two days - honestly it was an impulsive purchase because of the look more than anything. I've got HE Sprints currently and love them. And used VRS DFPs as well. I hated the brake feel on the DFPs.

  • @nmasson30
    @nmasson30 Год назад +5

    The lack of a base plate, and lack of previews before launch to even suggest which plate might be suitable, and the length of time to get them to market didn’t fill me with confidence to when a clutch may come if I needed it. I was adamant I wanted them based on the looks but went elsewhere.

      Cube controls seemed to really get hit by supply chain issues in the past few years with lots of their products. I think they focused on meeting supplies of their existing products rather than releasing new things and being out of stock the whole time. I agree that a lack of a baseplate is an issue. It definitely is for me anyways. And yes, clutch is a must have for me too but many don’t need one at all

    I bought a set of these last week. I came from Sprints and I considered Simtrec, Meca Evo, Ultimate +, OBP but to name a few.
    I am genuinely thrilled at my choice. The accelerator with the carbon formula plate and the pre load as hard as it goes feels really really good. A very robust and stiff pedal, I love the feeling.
    The brake is excellent too. The hydraulic dampening feels very nice and adjustment is very easy. The performance kit makes combinations pretty limitless, and the combo I have chosen gives me a lovely linear progressive pedal (medium spring then hard spring).
    I had as issue with my brake and a squeak noise. I contacted cube and the CEO messaged me, built me a replacement pedal personally whilst showing me the components he had chosen and then shipped it to me that afternoon. As far as customer service goes, it was exemplary.
    They are VERY expensive; but I knew that. They are the best looking pedals I’ve ever seen, they feel great to use and the customer service has been faultless.
    I’m really happy with mine.

      Great comment! I do think that there are several cheaper (thank these) pedal sets that are better than sprints.
      Great to hear about your amazing customer service experience. That’s really important especially at this price point.
      It’s amazing to buy hardware like this and to be so satisfied. Congrats! Enjoy

      Really awesome to hear. I am also coming from HE sprints and my SP01s will be here in the US in a couple days.
      Really happy to hear their customer service still ranks up there. I had a small issue with my wheel and they shipped me a new one and gave me a small credit (which I used on the pedals)

    Great review Laurance, as usual. They certainly do look like good quality; however, the price is just a little too step I feel. I'm happy with my Heusinkveld Sprint pedals, which are also top quality, but significantly cheaper. Although, I would like to see more colour options for faceplates etc with Heusinkveld.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Год назад +1

      You can’t go wrong with heusinkveld for sure. Yeah some customisation would be cool but I can’t see it making them a lot of money if they did offer it

  • @IvebenKruzen
    @IvebenKruzen Год назад +3

    They look great, gets kinda old always seeing the "erector set" pedals that a lot of companies go with. As for an adjustable heel rest you would think for the money that a P1-X cost it would also come with one like the ASR6. Looking forward to your long term review!

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Год назад

      None of the rigs come with a raisable heel plate. The base on the p1-x is adjustable but your heel rest is at the same height as the mounting point for the pedals which isn’t a proper heel rest. The ASR6 also doesn’t have this ability.

    • @IvebenKruzen
      @IvebenKruzen Год назад +1

      @@LaurenceDusoswa The ASR6 and ASR4 have two pedal plates options when ordering them. One is the standard steel pedal plate or the second option is the aluminum pedal plate and heel rest which are completely independent in height, tilt and from front to back. They are more adjustable then any pedal plate the come with pedals.

      @@LaurenceDusoswa others not doing it is no excuse at this ridiculous price!
      They are more expensive than the real racing pedals with double master cylinder in my bmw e36 racecar for the Nürburgring!
      The company is laughing it’s ass of for people buying gaming stuff that’s more expensive than real life racecar parts..

  • @AdamOutlaw87
    @AdamOutlaw87 Год назад +2

    Keep your ultimate+ pedals and get a you a can of blue paint or get them powder coated and dont get caught up in a colored pedal not worth the extra money

  • @EpicFatLip
    @EpicFatLip Год назад +3

    Not a fan! For starters; as you mentioned, no baseplate. Also, I'm sure that if you also get the clutch pedal, you almost have no spare room to play with the "spacing" of your pedals, those mounting brackets are too wide. And the biggest no-go is the price for me, you can get a decent second hand car for that price.
    But as always, very honest first impressions video! Keep it up LD

      @looneeii Год назад

      @Daniel Newman Racing I'm more than happy to get a demo set to evaluate and send back. If anyone from Cube Controls is reading this.
      At this point purchasing, and then finding out it's a more of esthetics and a gimmick, would be rather sad and expensive. Considering I already own two wireless CC wheels and the HU+ 3 pedal set, I can't see beyond the basic truth. Even @Laurence Dusoswa said its not an upgrade from the HE+.
      BTW...yes, from all the recent posting you've done under "Daniel Reeve", you've jumped on the CC SP01 bandwagon without much knowledge yourself. 😉

    • @danielnewmanracing
      @danielnewmanracing Год назад +3

      @@looneeii I bought mine based on the race beyond matter review. I contacted him and his feedback was ‘best brake pedal I’ve ever felt’. As someone who already owned a CSX3 and who also believes that on an expensive rig, aesthetics is important, I opted for the Cubes. I almost ordered Meca Evo. It’s not a case of buying without research, but RUclips reviews didn’t exist, so I had to seek out people who used them at the expo’s, and chose wisely so I could be confident in their opinion.
      That said. I am firmly impressed and very happy with my purchase. I didn’t expect Cube to send me a free set to review as you’ve just asked for, and given the chance I’d buy them again. I’ve tried other pedals and for me these felt better. I can’t compare to Meca Evo (which is what I would have bought otherwise, or Simtrec), but with the correct pre load and elastomer combo, these are the best I’ve ever used.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  Год назад

      As far as I know, I'm not on their review radar. I have never been sent any products for review although I have reviewed the SC2 Pro and the SC2 Sport. If you'd like me to review the active pedals, the best advice I can give is for you to contact Simucube via their social channels to request them to facilitate this. That's generally what I recommend to people. I'm not a young guy looking for free stuff and companies need to see value in my opinions. If customers tell them that my opinion matters to them, it's more likely to matter to Simucube. I hope that helps. Thanks for the support
