I did 6.5k grafts 2 months ago. A month after the HT my doctor advised me to use 1.25mg of Finasteride 3 times per week [monday, wednesday and friday]. After only 1 month of usage I can see tiny hairs sprawling out on temples area, and this is due to Finasteride as grafts weren't transplanted there. So yea 1.25mg of Finasteride 3 times per week at least for me so far is working like a magic thank God!

Optimal dosage for people age 40+ is 2.5 mg finasteride in the morning and 2.5 mg at night. This is what I am taking. I am almost 45 years old. 1mg of finasteride per day is too weak once middle aged. In addition to this I am taking 2 1/2 mg of oral minoxidil by day and 2 1/2 mg by night. I am taking estradiol and estriol cream once a day and will start taking spironolactone 50 mg and work my way up to 100 mg. I was going to disagree with this guy, but eventually he comes to the same conclusion. This is precious hair we are talking about -- and we need to stop it dead in it's tracks, so just jump on 1mg ED. You can't risk trying a low dose, only to find out 3-6 months later that you are a non-responder at that low dose. Hair re-growth is slow enough already; can't waste time. Just jump straight to 1mg and if you get sides, then lower dose and frequency until they go away. I also like his protocol of adding Dut in once a week, which I think should be the next step after someone has been on Fin for a considerable time.

Doing the same as you three times a week (~1.25 mg, MWF). I'm thinking of reducing to twice or even once a week to maintain my hair or increasing dosage to 4-5 times a week to see if I can improve my gains. Not sure yet since I'm ok with not losing more hair and not having side effects with my current regimen, but I risk losing hair again or experiencing sides by changing my routine.

If the patient is young and has aggressive baldness just start off with a high dosage, give him all the possible side effects, scare him off so that he will never touch this pill again, let him get bald then come for a more expensive procedure, the hair transplant :) Sounds about right to me and my wallet.

If you are a young guy with aggressive baldness, you won't be able to avoid a transplant anyways (at least 1). This is not a medication for anxious or timid men. We can see it in studies on nocebo phenomenon. Hair transplants are not a great idea for people on a tight budget either so if you oppose the idea of spending quite a bit of money on your hair transplant, then try SMP, or go bald peacefully.

Finasteride really works, 0.25% or 1%.
The sad part for me is that after 10 years it all the sudden stoped working. I have spoken to a lot of people who have used it for more than 10 years and a lot of people experience the same. I’m 34 now.
I have even done steam cells 2 times. I spent like 30k on it. It was a waste. I wish I had used that money for a trip or something like that.
So finasteride slows down the hair loss process but sooner or later hair loss wins. Hair loss is embedded in our DNA, it has been part of our DNA for thousands of years.
I am still on finasteride, oral minoxidil and topical minoxidil and finasteride. Dermorrolling once a week. It’s obvious I’m balding and keeping my hair long makes me look reducidlos. My next option is hair transplants but this is a fight against reality. My brother did hair transplants and it looks so bad in Person.
I honestly believe that shaving and doing scalp pigmentation is not a bad option.

You need to swith to Dutasteride and the Minoxidil pill. Take just a quarter of the minoxidil pill then another 1/4 an hour later for a week, then go half then go full. It can cause chest pain. I had chest pain for the first 3 days and severe chest pain when I took it twice one day by accidet. Going on month 5 now and it seems to be working. Only thing that sucks is i have random hairs on my ears growing and the tops of my hands have been growing so fast I have to cut it once a week

at this point for me, it docent matter what I take, my hair follicles don't respond at all .
