The closer the aspect ratio gets to a square rather than a rectangle the worse streaming content gets. Sure, you can zoom to fill the screen but you'll cut so much off the sides of the content it just won't give you a good experience. Plus the wider a super thick phone gets, and these are all pretty thick, the harder it is to fit in a pocket. The Z Fold is so much easier to pocket than my old Note 20 Ultra. But I get why it might be just right for others.
i was wondering if the 67watt charging will go faster if you charge the Oneplus fold when it's shut down? Most smartphone charge faster is the Smartphone is shutdown.
That's the new name for Samsung.. "Just wait till next year". Wait. Wait for Next model, wait next version. Forget how poor they did and upgraded fold 4 , instead of listening to consumers for what is essentially now a Oneplus 🥲
@@arnieindus530 yea, although their global rom will come out next year. The OnePlus almost sold me, especially with the discounts (down to 1450 for me) but I went with the PixelFold for my specific needs (preference for wider). Looking back I'm shure I would be happy with the OnePlus.
The Oneplus definitely looks better when closed. But it seems to be closer to a 1:1 ration when closed. I don't think this is a good idea for media consumption.
I have a pixel fold, I'm not happy how android auto plays or some of the features I had with Samsung, should I get the opo open or wait for galaxy 6 fold?
@@robanderson960he's just saying, logically there's going to be an update down the line. Nobody knows the exact time yet. Like Maxx said you can join the beta program.
Kind of disappointed on the OnePlus Open size. Just slightly wider (looks .3") than a stupid zfold. Same height. It was supposed to be more normal, so wider like the pixel fold, but its not. I need my experience to be conducive to multitask like the surface Duo, which I am typing on, waiting for this. Too bad.. So now Im going for the pixel fold. My only concern with the pixel is not the app layout, which will be fixed soon, but the top & bottom fold of the center screen. It doesn't have the plastic guards like the other folds.
The pixel fold does have a plastic guard but it's not as pronounced like the others, the beta has cleaned up the aspect ratio and it's working well also, one of my gripes with the Open is that OnePlus doesn't have a flex or tent mode for the outside screen when you want to use it on a table which is a letdown for a foldable IMO... I still think they thought too much about the camera and not a multi useful device.
@@RJ_Uploads I'm thinking that Oneplus accomplished a huge achievement, in order to eclipse Samsung even in the OS, so they probably would make tent mode eventually. I'm using Pixel Fold & it's just a mature product with the beta OS. Samsung's software lead will be gone once Google Pixel updates. Watching more about the OnePlus is just really really excellent overall, but I am just very pleased with the PixelFold. I would say the market would be just Oneplus and Pixel Fold now.
@@Maxx134a I'm glad they came out with the device especially in the Western market, I'm actually hoping Motorola steps up and makes a larger foldable here in the Western market, as well a Nubia especially since they do a pretty good job with some great hardware in the gaming world,
@@matrix1169a I tend to agree, it is borderline heavy and stock OS not have app grid selection until I found out to use the Beta which is actually good 👍. For sure I would buy the OnePlus if not have this Pixel Fold.
You are a great reviewer, you always give a balanced opinion based on facts. I love that there is competition in this space. I love my Z Fold 5 but its not really much better than a Z Fold 3 to be honest. But with real competition out there now, Samsung is going to have to do what they do best, innovate. But they only do it when someone lights a fire under them. So not there is some heat on them!
It's shorter than the s23 ultra, so how's it too tall. Now I will say I wish it was wider, but I still like it more than my s23 ultra overall. Not to mention software and overall functionality combined with not being chinease Spyware z fold 5 is King.
I don't care how good it looks until you use it you won't know how good it is. Plus the software might not be good as the Pixel Fold or the Z fold s Greg please wait to see can't believe rumors.

Do you think the Oneplus Open will be compatible with AT&T servers?
It is. I just activated mine with AT&T.
#question can you find out or know if it will come to Australia. either under the OnePlus or oppo label. thank you in advance.
I won't be able to sorry

Wait for the Z Fold 6. That will be an upgrade worth waiting for.😊

I'm sure it will be the same phone with recent leaks of z 6
The Honor V2 Ultimate has it's own Bluetooth S-pen included and is the Thinnest Fold.
You won't get a Global Rom if you go with it.

Gonna wait for the open 2 and then I'll swap my pixel fold out for it
Anybody know if the 1+Foldable has Stylus Support?
Never had a one plus, what’s that OS like? Close to stock android? I think I’ll be sticking to z fold.
Ive had the Oneplus 6T and 7 Pro, really liked both of them. I will VERY likely be upgrading from my current Note 20 Ultra to the Oneplus Open
You ask a question about OPO then just go, I'm sticking with the fold. 😂
