More great content. Can't recount how many times i've finished and actually been proud of something i've painted just to take a photo and immediately deflate.
i deeply appreciate how practical this advice is, as opposed to many of the other mini photography guides that assume I want to learn a second hobby just to show my minis to other people
I didn't learn anything new here but as others have said: Fantastic guide! Simple, straight to the point and you give REAL PRACTICAL advice that even novices can follow. Even the worst-painted mini will look much better using these tips. 10/10!
Man! Your channel has helped me so much I first subbed to your channel for the heavy body acrylics since thats what I paint with but then information about wet pallete, tissue, brush, mediums, washes, paint journals etc. By far one of my favourite paint channels
Super informative video! If that cloth is named the same as Musou Black paint, the world's blackest paint, it's pronounced more like "moo-sew" that "mow-sue". Japanese written in roman characters is only tough to pronounce until the moment you realize that every vowel is pronounced the same way every time. Even when you combine them, you just run through the sounds sequentially, or lengthen the sound slightly if it's the same vowel twice.
It's essentially the easy way to make sure that regardless of other settings, the picture will come out sharp. Shutter speeds, aperture and ISO can really mess with a shot if there's movement, if everything's perfectly still and the exposure is right, then it doesn't matter what they are from a standard user point of view.
How far away would you say you take the photo from your mini 🤔 absolutely love your content! Just found you this morning, and I’m bingeing at work now 💪
Might depend on the model and phone but somewhere between 6-10 inches away. Basically because I square crop, I just get in close enough to fill the model into the imaginary square I'm going to cut out of the frame.
Why does it feel like this video was made just because of my crappy photography for the OPR contest, and then whining about it in the patron comments. 🤔
While I do vaguely remember that, this was planned more because it relates to miniatures without actually being about painting which is what I've been doing with the Ratmen videos :3 I wanted to do a photography video different from other youtubers so went at it from the angle that I'm not looking for pro photos, just some basic improvements that everyone should be able to do...now if it helps contest participants get better pictures too I certainly wont complain 😸
@@PaintmanJourneying Hey there. I actually really appreciate the video and I will be looking to apply some of the tips for the next context. My above comment was kind off a joke (I know its not about me), but your video does answer several issues I raised.
This was, by far, the best and most comprehensive guide to photography for this purpose. Here by my go to guide.
This has to be one of the best videos on mini photography out there. Thanks for all the tips!
The information on this video is a gift to the planet! I have subscribed to this channel.

This is actually one of the best explanations I've seen about the topic! Kudos to you good sir!

Great video! I'm gonna use the dog toy stabilizing trick also honestly never thought about the 2 sec delay before but it makes sense. Keep it up!

Wonderful video! My next mini photoshoot will hopefully be a lot better than previous ones with these tips
That's my goal I don't need everyone to be pro's, just a little bit better :D
Nice walk through.

Sorry it's a bit overdue XD
