Aloha! Thank you both for this video. As a cat sanctuary owner, I rather live in a constant state of bereavement. Many of our cats are seniors, and for many this is their forever home. So with around 85 cats we’re often dealing with losses. Ya Colleen, we recently took in 20 cats from the Lahaina burn zone, so we’re up to 85 now at Maui Cat House! Videos like this help me a lot. Just hearing from other compassionate/animal people with thoughtful insight helps me deal with the pain. I could go on and on… on this topic. A few months before purchasing this sanctuary I was put to the test. I lost my 20 year old cat and 3 senior dogs in a 4 month period. 4 months in a row, I lost my kitty, next month a dog passed, next month another dog, and next month another. 2021 was a difficult year. Mourning for one, then trying to deal with the next, and so on. So I learned some personal tricks for animal friend bereavement. I wish they could've lived a few more months, as they never got to see the amazing sanctuary oasis later that year. But I feel them here in spirit.
