Wow! You make this look easy. No need to actually mitering all the borders corners. I did fail to notice on my third go around of watching the video to flip the 2 side borders back out after ironing them. So of course being a newbie at quilting I stopped and waited after counting to 100. I came back in and watched your video again. There it was. That is why I will not watch speechless tutorials. Words do speak volumes. Thank you and I did subscribe to your station because it was so easy, really! Thanks so much, Kim
Wow, finally a simple video explaining borders! I've been searching youtube all morning for one! Thanks for the easy-to-follow instructions! I love the website resource. That will be a life saver for me
Oh great Ive found a tutorial I can understand as a novice and complete newbie here in the UK making my first couple of landscape and seascape panels ad my memories of the places Ive loved and I need to know how to add borders. Your lesson has made it so easy to understand, especially the working out of measurements and with the link to quiltparadise, which I hope works, because its the maths I cant get my head around! Thank you Erica for this tutorial you are an angel! xx
Thank you so much for this! I’m making a baby quilt for my niece and was stressing about the borders. You made this look so easy. Can’t wait to get to the borders now.
OMG. I just started my first quilt and was feeling overwhelmed because it’s too small. Your video has helped me tremendously. I can do the boarders. Several boarder. Thank you!!
Great tutorial. That strip of red just made it really pretty. Glad you added it. Thanks for the calculator tip. I will definitely use it. Still haven’t made a quilt yet! Trying to finish up some projects but I definitely want to make one. Your quilting videos are awesome and I will be watching all of them. I like how you add your borders. I have made a few wall hangings and will be using your border method in the future. Great block. Thanks. Hugs! 💝
Love the red and green borders. Not as fussy about pattern on outer one as it clashes a bit…. I’d probably use more plain. Just me…. Thank you for another great video
Erica, I love❤️ all of your quilting videos! I’m fairly new to quilting but have learned so much from watching you! I would love that truck pattern, would you consider it to be for someone with intermediate piecing skills? Thank you for your inspiration
I'm not sure of your question, but if you want to join 12 squares then add borders, you'd do it exactly the same way. Measure your sides, then top + width of your border on both sides. Hopefully that makes sense.
Are there any video tutorial for ANY of the quilt blocks in your patterns ? I have purchased the patterns but would love to see at least one block made in a video. Thank you in advance.
Hi, I'm sorry I don't usually do video tutorials for the blocks in my patterns, but they do have detailed step-by-step instructions along with graphic illustrations to make assembly easy! :) Also feel free to email me if you have any questions as you go!
I just don't worry about cutting them to size first in the event that I've miscalculated. It might not faster for sewing, but I don't have to waste time doing math :)
Hmm, not sure, make sure to sew straight, when you sew in long lines you can get wavy without realizing it. Also it can help to sew opposite directions with each border you add as well. For example if you sew top to bottom on the first right side border, try sewing bottom to top when you add the next right side border.

Yes, if you can sew a half-square-triangle you can sew this quilt!
Hi Erica, where did you get the barn quilt on the wall behind you, its so cute!!
It's from Lori Holt's Farm Girl Vintage Book :)
Great video! If I want to join 12 squares how do I compensate for joining top and side rows?
I'm not sure of your question, but if you want to join 12 squares then add borders, you'd do it exactly the same way. Measure your sides, then top + width of your border on both sides. Hopefully that makes sense.
Beautiful
What is the app you have on your phone for doing the calculations?
www.quiltersparadiseesc.com/Calculators.php
@@erica_arndt Thank you
Please do a metered corner video!
I would love this pattern. Please
I am a new quilter, is this block batted before adding binding
Erica, Can I ask where did you get the truck pattern.
Sorry, I forgot to link it, you can find the pattern here: bit.ly/2jae6AW
So, to be clear, to make the corner, you just sew it right over the corner of the other side?
Yes, after you fold the corner you start at the new end.
Where do I find the site where you plug in the numbers? Thank you
I found it!! 😀

what is the site you used for measurements? Quiltersparadise.com? I must be spelling it wrong because it didn't take me anywhere!
Hi Debra, here is the link: www.quiltersparadiseesc.com/
Makes me think of a Christmas truck under the Christmas tree.
Yes, I love vintage Christmas trucks!
Be a cute Christmas wall hanging
Sherry Raynor yes it need a brown triangle for the bottom to make the trunk of the tree. Then it all will look complete.
I love the truck! I'm an advanced beginner sewer/quilter...would this be Ok for someone like me?
Yes, it's relatively easy :)
I just dont get how adding the additional step of joining the border strips only to recut them is making it faster?
I just don't worry about cutting them to size first in the event that I've miscalculated. It might not faster for sewing, but I don't have to waste time doing math :)
Oh dear the link doesnt work fir me here in the UK...sadly. xx
I tried to order the pattern for the truck, but it won't allow me to proceed without signing up for an account. Just want to order and pay.
Looking for the link to quiltersparadise.com
You don’t have to back stitch every time you start and end??
No, I only backstitch on the final border to hold it in place until I quilt it.
Every time I add borders with this method I end up with super wavy borders. What am I doing wrong?
Hmm, not sure, make sure to sew straight, when you sew in long lines you can get wavy without realizing it. Also it can help to sew opposite directions with each border you add as well. For example if you sew top to bottom on the first right side border, try sewing bottom to top when you add the next right side border.
A red binding would reall set it off.
like very mouch
I found it.
OMG! I love this tutorial with the app for calculations! I. hate. math :-)
