Yes kpop is toxic. The industry is manipulative, both labels and stans. They fake hype and spread lies and slander anyone rising to bring down rivals even tho the said problems can be also pointed towards their own faves too but they’ll sweep it under the rug or have tons of reasons to justify those most of the time.
They're basically in the best environment a rookie group can be and that's is most likely why they are growing up to be one of if not THE best in the industry... I can never stop praising 4th gen groups they are so good with things they do, and how they already make statements and I love seeing that
Actually some of the members have been apart of the writing and marketing process already so they are def involved but I do think that the staff still deserve a huge respect
when it comes to ditto and omg, their music video team is more important than ador Even in interviews with music video directors, they say it was their idea. They are a famous advertising director and production team in Korea. It was the first music video made by such a creative team.
IMO: •Hanni's delusion is about serving us. She will sing for us, talk to us, which makes her tired so she is referring to an Iphone which infact, does the same tasks. •Minji's delusion was about being a doctor, when she was a patient herself. Usually the oldest are often referred as mature, caring and observant. Their viewers want them to take care of them no matter how sick they are themselves. •Hyein's delusion is about being a princess. As she is the youngest, people will often treat her like a princess and she is supposed to act like one. Just like Jordan said, she dreams about her fans at the point of loosing herself. (not sure, can u help?) •Haerin's delusion is about being a cat. People often call her Kittykang due to her mesmerising cat features. She then started to believe that she was a cat and acted like one to please her viewers. •Danielle's delusion is quite interesting. It is shown that she believes that she is a kpop idol and is in a group called 'NewJeans'. She believed that she was filming a music video. You can then see her smiling and laughing at a blank screen visualising what idols are supposed to do 24/7 on camera: smile, laugh, act cute, please the fans and serve even if there is nothing funny or fun about it.
I think haerin's delusion of thinking she's a cat comes from her appearance and how Kpop fans reacted to her looks. Ever since she was revealed to the public, she was always complimented for her extremely cat-like visuals and only that. Only receiving praise for looking like a cat probably explains her delusion of believing she is one in the MV. The Chinese fanbase is obsessed with her looks, saying how if a cat turned into a human they would look like haerin . We rarely address her by her name and only ever call her “猫猫” which is just a playful way to say cat in Chinese.
We have insanely talented and hardworking artists and performers in front of us and yet all some fans seem to talk about is how they look. It's especially irritating when idols aren't into it or speak up against it.
Haerin's nickname is kitty because she has cat-like featuers. The fans gave her that name and you can see in Ditto Ban HeeSoo calls the same cat "Kang Kitty" which is Kang Haerin's nickname. Basically the members become whatever image or stereotypes the fans have about them. Also: I took the Bear as a symbol of overprotective fans. At first he was the doctor trying to help and fix them. The Bear is from Revenant so if we take anything from that movie it's a lot about violence, betrayal, and revenge. I saw it as the bear trying to protect her, but in the process killing the prince and therefore killing the princess by making her lose the chance at love (relationships for idols) and thus being unable to wake up. Sometimes overprotective fans do more harm and hurt the people they stan.
In Japan and South Korea, some people criticized this mv because they think mental illness should not be used as a theme so easily. But I personally thought this mv shed light on some important issues and is trying to convey positive messages so I really love this :)
heres the theory ive heard: minji: the oldest/leader members are often seen as the parental figures that take care of the other members, take on the responsiblities and solve their problems, hence the doctor hanni: the iPhone (ipham) is exactly what you described danielle: honestly I'm not too sure what dani is, but I'm guessing its how its like they're always on camera, but you're also definitely spot on haerin: people often compare her features to a cat - aka the resprensative animals of idols (most commonly a dog, cat, bunny, or fox ) hyein: i would guess its half-part what you explained, but also because she's working to achieve a fairytale etc etc
danielle's is, I think, being fake. Laughing at stuff, reacting etc, to appease and gain attention like idols are expected to do or they're "boring". For Haerin, I think it's how they stereotype some members of the group as just one particular label and then they're just known as that and not their talents like for example, how Hyunjin and Felix from Stray Kids are known widely as just "visuals" but not everyone would know about their talent. and Hyein, I think, is pretty much losing yourself to entertainment industry faux, putting on to be someone you're not. It could also show how the attention could potentially destroy them into "princess/star syndrome" but idk-
Newjeans girls are so creative and talented....... It's like they are presenting the concept of life, being an idol, being a fan, telling facts about toxic industry, giving the scenarios of youth etc Edit 1: guys I'm also crediting the creative and production team behind them. Because the girls write and compose some of the songs and I guess they have also a part in production. Edit 2: wow many likes "uri eomma eomma ga" I'm famous
Which is ironic because they dove straight right in very willingly into that toxic industry and gain loads of money, popularity, and validation from it.
@@akusomyu I don't think so. But that's my opinion. They themselves perpetrated this toxicity when these minors are exploited and sexualized when they were allowed to sing such a sexual song as Cookie. And because they are from Hybe, and are popular, people just intentionally overlooked and believed whatever bs Hybe gave them instead of taking them accountable for letting young kids sing it. Plus, they continued to work with someone who purposefully put blush on a minor girl group member's knees when she worked with them before, plus being well known for using pedophilic concepts in her works.
The whole production of new jeans is on another level. The creativity and storytelling of their videos are really nice. Thank you, Jordan for this amazing content. I love your explanation video to Ditto too. Maybe because Haerin is like a cat for having a chill personality. just maybe hehe
Imo it maybe because she believes she's whatever the fans told her who she is. Many mentioned that she looks like a cat so she thought her whole identity as a cat
This is the dark side of kpop interpretation western media used to often go with and some others still often go with but that was a war lie. It is really a love and/or sex song.
I love the juxtaposition between the topics of their lyrics (liking a boy, tell me you like me too etc.) and the topics of the videos which seem very serious. There was always room in kpop for groups challenging the status quo in one way or another. That's how the genre moves forward. It's how we got to idols writing their music becoming a standard when it was a rarity before. The dancing here is, in my opinion, gonna be the next step. First two gens of kpop had less emphasis on choreography and Shinee moved the goal post, third gen then went super hard with choreo, it carried over to the forth, but now we got the tiktok effect where the dances are supposed to be easily copied.
New Jeans is literally one of the most legendary girl groups of 4th gen, probably one of the most legendary in Kpop history. Their editing skills, their acting skills, their vocals, dance, everything is amazing. They might even grow to being one of the most successful 4th gen group❤️❤️💗💗
This is honestly so in depth. Every time I watch a new jeans episode I need someone to literally break it down because it always goes over my head. The fact that you are able to help paint the picture so clearly (while also showing us how it is actually done) is so helpful
Love this reaction! Love how you broke down the editing and how it connects to The narrative! I totally agree with your interpretation. But I think it is very much connected to Ditto. Ditto is how being a fan can be toxic to the fans...losing their connection to reality. So she lets go to concentrate on her current relationships but then reconnects when she gets older and might need that distraction once again. Then OMG is the side of the idols. What happens when the fans do disconnect or their lives are to enmeshed with what their fans want. If they are not the idols in their fans life then what are they? Here Hanni concludes she must be an iPhone. With Minji I see she thinks of her self as a mental health professional. I see this so much in BTS fandom where a lot of Army, myself included, say that BTS music helped then in some crisis. So idols might end up thinking that is their purpose! Then Hyein, she is the one that fulfills a lot of fans fantasy of being this princess in this fantasy. But at times the fantasy is false, the prince dies and she can be consumed by the fans rage disappointment that she disappears. Haerin is quite simple. In Ditto,Heeso likened her to a cat...so that’s what she became! This is so common in kpop. Like in BTS Yoongi is likened to a cat,JK to a rabbit! So finally Danielle is the only one holding on to the thin thread of who they are, but without their purpose of making music then she is losing herself too. Such an insightful and bold direction they are going with this group! Finally I love your comment about them not trying to be perfect in choreography etc. I see them as really authentic...just very natural teens that can be giggly, sweet and playful! Not perfect just starting to develop!
I personally think that both Ditto and OMG are partially about kpop fans. How they are delusional, dont know whats real anymore. How they treatthe idols and fit their own image on them- that they like the most - or a role in their life - for example a helper in sad moments etc. For Ditto I see the narrative where the fans are detached from reality but after some time they realise that these lives arent real - realise that they didnt really live in real life. But after some time when they realise they loose the innocence (the deer) and try to live their lives. Its almost like these songs encourage fans to focus on their lives, be present and not put idols into boxes bc they are humans too.
This is a very good interpretation I feel like, I only now relised how much I've lost myself while watching others live the life I sometimes wish I had.
Since you mentioned Ditto, I think it was also about fans who are too much into kpop and they make it their only source of happiness and unknowingly isolate themselves from the real world and the people in it like Heeso did. Once Heeso realized New Jeans members can not be physically there for her to solve her problems, she decided to not depend too much on them and drops the recorder from the roof and faces the reality and goes to the boy who can actuallly be there for her and when she becomes older she turns on the recorder and smiles thinking all the good times and how it should have been part of her life not her whole life. And in the OMG video i think the reason Danielle is saying "we are new jeans, don't you guys remember" is because with time other members have completely lost their identities while Danielle still remembers a little who they really are. PS: LOVE your story telling
Ironically Newjeans is getting tons of hateful comments for this MV. Self fulfilling prophecy at its finest. I loved the scene with the bear. When Danielle and Hyein were dealing with it alone the bear was incredibly dangerous but in front of everyone else it looked like a cute and lifeless teddy bear who couldn't harm anyone. This leads to people not noticing the impact of hurtful comments and actions from fans or antis towards the idols.
it's sad to think that most people would miss this message and moves on with their lives without knowing the real issues they try to bring to the surface. it's a great story telling. props to the creative directors , whoever that came up with this concept for doing the work to send this to the audience, and also the audience that gets it (like jordan) and willing to share it to the people out here.
plenty of me jaw-dropping while watching your video. DAAAAMN! as non-bunnies, your breakdown of the entire mv is incredible and made me understand it better. It's mindblowing that you even mention why the MV looks so cinematic, the webtoon creator, even correlated all of that with current situations in kpop. Dude, you're sound like a lecturer that I can hear you giving lessons for hours! You did a great job as always
They really changed most people’s perspective for kpop. Stan Newjeans and their staff, they all deserve a raise for their hardwork and taking care of newjeans.
I love New Jeans but let's be real, this isn't going to be a wake up call for fandoms. Idols have literally killed themselves and nothing has changed. Maybe momentarily
16:14 OMG literally, this explanation from Minji just blew my mind because all this makes sense knowing that Minji is the oldest member therefore the leader and has that "responsibility" to keep her members on a good path, wow.
17:02 Tzuyuuuuu cryingggg. She left her home at an early age to pursue her dream to be an idol. This clip was when she said she missed her mom and home. I'm low-key stanning New Jeans right now. I love their music as well as the hidden meanings of their m/v making me appreciate my idols more. They're also human beings after all.
For anyone who doesn't yet know, the character "Heesoo" has the full name "Ban Heesoo" which is a play on the word "Bunny". (Bunny is the name of NJ's fandom) So basically, Heesoo represents NJ's fans.
Fun fact I saw somewhere is that Hyein recreates some scenes books and movies. You can see the index in 7:42. You can see that she recreated every story mentioned in the index if you pay attention. Probably the bear does mean what you told us (I’m not good with theories) but it is also a recreation of the bear scene in The revenant. The Revenant is in the index underneath Sleeping beauty, you can see it in the original mv. Another fun fact is that the cake in shape of bunny was a collaboration between newjeans and a popular cafe in Korea.
NewJeans and their creative team is crazy to come up with that concept. They're a young group, their career timeline could be considered rookie, but creating an homage to their own growth this early is absolutely a badass move
i love that you really took the feedback and started doing various researches about the mv's you analyze here, the deep dives are truly amazing, you're doing great.
i feel like newjeans is a group that we needed. their concept is SO GOOD AND WELL SEARCHED. i mean, we got a lot of kpop groups with incredible concepts... but I feel like “none” of them really manage to talk about the kpop industry as newjeans does i may be wrong but yeah- and sorry if i made some mistakes, english isn't my first language ! :)
Late but I don't really think so important their songs r just global but like only a few are meaningful but others not really cuz there are so many groups that have y2k concepts but their not from a big company, that's why new jeans were recognized imo and had great production but like I want the songs to be bigger. It's just like 1-2 minutes and even worse 45 I don't hate new jeans members for this but the production and the cookie song
Your analysis was just precious and yeah, this MV looks really like a film and I love NewJeans so much not only for their amazing music (there's no drop at all) but especially for their amazing artistic expressions on almost everything they do
massive props to the staffs behind the production they did splendidly good job. cannot comprehend how they came out these kind of refreshing, new approach to kpop. they set the standard too high, all the best for upcoming releases 😂
Imagine if the whole world watches this channel digging up to Newjeans' music videos meaning. Like the whole world would crave for more contents from newjeans because of deep meaning behind every video.
The song is about a Christian who believes in a really good God literally, which God has for them a really amazing Heaven literally, and said Christian is thought of as crazy by the society.
The bunny cake was a collaboration with NUDAKE and you could actually purchase it in Korea around the time when the MV came out. It was sold out when I went to the store but it looked amazing - was very much jelly of the fanboys who managed to snag one and were sharing it at the store
Every K-pop M/V I watch I think it's just a normal mv but every time I watch this dude explain it I just get so entertained like I never knew this about this mv and I get so mesmerized by all these facts about Mv's like these and it's just so interesting to sit down and just watch this and know all these small but important details, and I get to learn all these tricks and hacks about transition and editing Once Again Thanks Jordan Orme
new jeans omg mv has definitely inspired me to become a better editor/story teller, so shoutout to everyone who worked hard on this project. side note, Jordan's dancing is improving a lot.
I just realized that Minji plays the doctor because she is the eldest in the group. Since they have no definite positions, fans automatically assumes her of the leadership role just because of her age. That's why at the ambulance scene, they were all looking at Minji as if depending on what to do next. I hope newjeans won't have defined positions because this concept of leader, main dancer, main vocal, etc. are honestly just contributing factors to a toxic fan environment. I noticed how once these roles are placed on an idol, the other members get completely overshadowed just because they aren't as good as the main vocal/dancer. They get compared by fans and whatnot. They do not need roles to perform, everyone is equally just as good and therefore they NJ has that cohesiveness in them. And for that I love what NJ is serving, a fresh, hot take on the industry as whole. I hope the label takes real good care of these girls bc they are a talented, entertaining bunch.
Min-ji, who thinks she's a doctor also speaks to the narrative that kpop fans says of idols - that their music saved them or healed them - the same way a doctor irl heals people. Which also fits well because Min-Ji is also the leader of the group, so she takes on that responsibility to look after the other members.
thank you for doing research about this and interpreting everything absolutely right! most people i saw reacting to this didn't even notice the roles the girls were playing or that there was a proper plot to this :( its sad to think that most people consume this without any thoughts. some people even called ditto and omg creepy because they didnt get it. so i really think this is exactly what kpop needs right now!! we need to use our brain again and stop being spoonfed everything
The reason i started stanning kpop is because of not only because of the song but because of the every element they used to produce such wonderful Music Videos. 🔥
The song is about a Christian who believes in a really good God literally, which God has for them a really amazing Heaven literally, and said Christian is thought of as crazy by the society.
NewJeans (same position with G-Idle) is my favourite k-pop band. And I love how you analyze their music videos, showing us a lot of unrevealed messages!
Ive been waiting too long for this one, i really love how you do your takes and explains everything so clearly. It is really worth the time watching your videos. More power and more videos 😊
The reaction video I've been waiting for!!! Already watched a lot of reactions/analysis since OMG mv dropped but it just hits differently when Jordan is the one breaking it down. Always the best on point mv reactions 💯
This MV shows how the audience perceives kpop idols through what they see or what the concept their company puts them through. Just like what Hanni says that she doesn't know who she is if it's really her or the people that says she is. She mentioned how like an iphone, she lives for someone or acts for someone. Members like Haerin in being a cat or Hyein being a princess. It seems like they feel like they're losing themselves portraying what you as the viewer wants, hence, them disappearing or Hyein looking at the bear/doctor as if that bear is her outlet of her thoughts or emotions. The last few seconds of the video made me look back on the COOKIE controversy. That it was planned even how uncomfortable it is. It shows how these companies can tell these idols to just dress them up, smile, or dance, and move on to the ongoing concept or comeback. It's a very nice interpretation and a new take on the relationship between the idol, their fans, their personal life, their career life, and everything in between. What is incredible with the message it holds is that EVERYONE experiences this whether you are a student, traffic enforcer, military personnel, or just someone finding who they are in life, if they're working/studying for someone. Do you define yourself as someone that helps others? Do THOSE people you helped define you? Where do you place youreself in those circumstances?
You literally put into words what I couldn't explain myself. An ex gf of mine unintentionally introduced me to them as the "pedo group" bc of cookie's lyrical controversy. I was never deep into kpop that time and kind of just went "oh well, that sucks for these kids". Come in new year and I found out about them because of their trending song, got hooked and checked their previous tracks when I realized I knew them before. To reiterate your point, getting to know them on my own completely removed whatever bias was shared to me by my ex-gf because of the cookie issue. I see them in a different light and on a positive note at that. It's almost as if cookie was one giant, risky PR move to get everyone curious and pay real attention to their group and it paid off. I have my hats off to the idols and their prod. team because you rarely encounter kpop MVs with actual film quality in both storytelling and cinematography.
I never realised that there was more to this mv, when I watched it I was confused, but after your materialistic explanation throughout, it painted a clearer picture, that's why I adore your content so much, you go through the things most people ignore, great work !
i just noticed that the scene in the book when hyein opens the book, danielle puts headphones on hyein and she turns around. it’s like the twice what is love music video where they were referencing movies
This MV is Ditto's other perspective. Since it is known that Ditto's MV talks about the unilateral relationship between fans and idols, OMG talks about the relationship of idols with their fans and how their own perception changes due to what they want and say about them, just as you mentioned the iPhone refers to the fact that idols often only exist to please their fans. Now each member has their own delusion according to the label that bunnies have put on them, in the case of Minji she is responsible for the other members because fans have said that she is like NewJeans' mother (besides because she is the oldest). Danielle is laughing at all times during the video (like when she was watching the blank TV) since she is recognized for being the enthusiast of the group, in the case of Haerin as mentioned a lot in other comments they say that she has a cat-like face, and Hyein being the youngest of the group in addition to her charming visual they call her "princess"
the case with Haerin is that people are calling her cat (because she has a cat like face) it was even mentioned in the Ditto MV. they call her Ms. Kitty Kang. maybe people are telling her that too much the she believe now that she is a cat. just theory. didn't notice the name ty for correction. I just typed and closed^^
on ban heesoo’s channel, one of the videos’ description talked about heesoo accidentally giving hanni the wrong number and that she hasn’t been called yet. this could relate to the omg music video. 🤷 i rlly don’t know, just thought it might be a cool reference Edit: Just remembered something else. In another one of Ban Heesoo’s videos, she says that Hyein has fairy tale syndrome, basically thinking she’s a main character in a story. I rlly like how the music video’s tie together, and Ban Heesoo’s additions are great
Dahn World | (In Korean 단월드) | Pesudo Religon Dahn World uses the Chinese character '丹' (Dan) for 'Dahn’ (Dan=Dahn. same pronunciation in South Korea) 丹 :Red or Scarlet, vivid red color GFRIEND's symbol was a clear glass bead. GFRIEND's debut song: “Glass Bead” When GFRIEND got into hands of HYBE, the Glass Bead got HYBED red. “APPLE” at 1min 54sec, Red Glass Bead. +Look at the ending scene NewJeans Super Shy (at 1min 37~38sec, A front shot of a building with 'Mago' on the window.) At 19 sec, Haerin is wearing an ‘Angel’ hairpin. After the red bicycle passed through the door (at 20 sec), Haerin's hairpin ‘Angel' was reversed.
The best dances, choreos, music videos and groups are the ones that either make it look effortless or that they try not to seem stiff-like (which NewJeans is currently slaying)
I always say that antis aren't the only toxic part of kpop. Even fans can be a source of difficulty for idols. I believe idols when they say they love their fans, in a way. Fans make their dreams come true and they tell them their stories in letters and videos. It's normal for them to be appreciative and feel affection. But fans also objectify them, take one thing they do or say and turn it into their entire personality, they assume stuff, make demands that cross boundaries etc. It's a hyperintense situation to be in, especially when you're young and trying to find your own way. I tip my hat off to all the idols who deal with all that. I hope they are provided with help in dealing with the mental strain of it all.
Only one reaction to this reaction/explainer video: OMG! Not just the fact that there is a group that is challenging the essence of k-pop and somewhat revolutionizing k-pop music videos. OMG to how editing really helps tell a story along with the music. Thank you once again!
I just think it’s incredibly bold to accurately point out the toxicity of kpop while being an undeniable part of it. That means if any news comes out about them being mistreated it’s twice as disappointing.
This is the best reaction to the OMG video, you are a person who knows the industry therefore your comments are well founded, I was not a fan of Kpop precisely because the groups follow the same lines, but NewJeans blew my mind, they have definitely changed my perspective about the Kpop. Congratulations 👏
I rewatched this video and also the MV. I noticed that the aspect ratio shifts throughout the video. I guess the shift of the aspect ratio also indicates which is real and which is delusion.
I need to say this again, but NewJeans is such a breathe of fresh air in kpop. 4th gen groups these days are more on girl crush, hard choreographies, high notes, all rounder members, remix beats, uncommon concepts and so much more impossible to do which makes it oversaturated and very hard for newer groups to get with which is why most 4th gen idols are leaving because of the pressure especially most of them are MINORS. NewJeans has such a fun choreography, simple yet catchy songs, unique yet comfy clothes and overall the concepts are such a blast. I don't know why agencies need to make a group that have so much details to the point where it looks so messy now when they could just make something like NewJeans where it is so simple yet it catches everyone's attention because of what they can offer to us fans.
Newjeans only succeeded coming from a big company with resources to boost their visibility. They are good but not exceptional. If every other non-major company proposed this kind of concept, it would most likely flop because it’s just “too simple”. This is not to insult Newjeans but it’s true that their success is a combination of luck, connection and resources, something most groups may not have. Their “refreshing concept” really isn’t the reason for it.
Also, the concept they bring is most likely created by someone else, not the girls themselves, thats how it is for 90% of idols. All the amazing productions, MVs, lyrics, choreos etc are the work of people whose job is specifically creating these things for the idols to execute. Idk why people keep praising idols so much when those behind get none
@henrieta arthuria dude having a big company as a resource is an imp thing eso when you come from a big company and that too not any other company but BTS COMPANY (HYBE)....an accurate example is STAYC (they have good song and almost their and new jeans songs sound similar) but the diff is stayC is from a small company so they got no exposure and therefore flopped but NJS with the similar vibe of song, music is doing good....spot the diff
@henrieta arthuria I agree with you. They have a great concept and they're "different" in their unique way among everyone else in 4th gen. All of these are also supported by best promotions, lot of music videos, etc
@henrieta arthuria But is XG getting the same playlisting on spotify, ads, promotions like New jeans ? No? Bcz new jeans is backed by Hybe (the company built by BTS)
I've never seen a breakdown so comprehensive, but maybe there hasn't been a video that needed such a breakdown. Either way.. you have added to the overall intelligence of the world through your sharing. Awesome job. Thks :P..... BTW.. massive clap for New Jeans. So beautiful and ridiculously talented.
Well, most of times bunnies call Haerin a cat, cause she has kitty-face-type(?) Basically, her eyes look like a cat, so she self aware that she looks like a cat. Maybe in this MV, she believes what other people said about her to the point she lost herself
I couldn't wait for your commentary on this mv. I saw it and I knew there would be so much to analyse and note. Thank you for explaining it and showing some of the details. I'm sure there's so much more that could be said! I would love to watch a longer video of you analysing it in details
i like how this EXTREMELY GOOD MUSIC VIDEO, full of meaning is for a music that is in one of the best songs ive heard in a while, im not a kpop guy, im kinda new to this stuff, but damn, this song is so good, this music video is so good.. everything is so good
In Ditto (side a) Minji calls Haerin “Kitty Kang” (Kang being her real family name) and Kitty Kang responds that she’s not a cat. Also K-pop idols are commonly given compliments that they “look like cats” (see itzy’s yeji in Cheshire M\V) and maybe Haerin is taking it a little too seriously and thinking she actually is a cat. So there’s that link too.
8:07 "la boum"It is a old teen movie about a girl falling in love in a party so the scene we see is a reference to that(sorry I'm french so my English is not that good)
beside the discussion and all, i know this is because jordan is an editor himself but the way he engaged on the video also the reason why i always stayed till the end in his reaction. he knew how to emphasize important things by giving a little zooming moment on his section when he talked, or the right place on cutting to match his commentary. that's really nice to see and make his video enjoyable. thankyou for your reaction always, jordan! pst. the boyz is coming back with a fallen angle concept and it'd be nice if you'd break down into it later. try to watch their trailer, it's awesome!
Actually when Hyein opens her book there's a list of fairy tails and even the revenant to which they then show each character in the MV. As for Haerin, she's a cat because she's been compared to a cat for her visuals and behaviors Additionally, at the end when Minji confronted the hater she was in her doctor clothes. Basically saying those haters are people who need help

I know a lot of people are praising New Jeans for their talent but I'd also like to thank the staff that were behind this music video.

The creative team behind OMG and Ditto is just on the next level - just in awe and inspired by them
Same hereeee!
The label is called ADOR whose ceo was the creative force at SM for SNSD, EXO, Red Velvet.
@@onlydbrasko its min hee jin right ? thats a whole reason why a group of teens who just started their career got so successful easily.

(not sure, can u help?)
•Haerin's delusion is about being a cat.
The best explanation so far!
This is spot on!
So true! Haerin herself doesn't really want to be addressed as a cat and always refers herself as a frog instead lol
We have insanely talented and hardworking artists and performers in front of us and yet all some fans seem to talk about is how they look. It's especially irritating when idols aren't into it or speak up against it.
好好好好好好好好好
In the intro of ditto they called her kitty
How to spell that mandarin word?
Lovely analysis of the bear, thank you :)
Woah I love this 💯🙌
Omg you're so right with this!
Oooooo I didn’t think of it this way (the bear theory)!!! Thanks for the perspective!
oh snap, this is a great interpretation for the bear

also how well he breaks it down to the music at the end
The song is about a person who comes to believe in the Magical Intelligent Sea literally and is thought of as crazy by the society.
This is the dark side of kpop interpretation some go with but that was a war lie. It is really a love and/or sex song.
In Japan and South Korea, some people criticized this mv because they think mental illness should not be used as a theme so easily.
But I personally thought this mv shed light on some important issues and is trying to convey positive messages so I really love this :)

These teenagers are suffering from mental illness their self's wdf r u chattin abt
I'm amazed by the profoundness of your pondering :D
heres the theory ive heard:
minji: the oldest/leader members are often seen as the parental figures that take care of the other members, take on the responsiblities and solve their problems, hence the doctor
hanni: the iPhone (ipham) is exactly what you described
danielle: honestly I'm not too sure what dani is, but I'm guessing its how its like they're always on camera, but you're also definitely spot on
haerin: people often compare her features to a cat - aka the resprensative animals of idols (most commonly a dog, cat, bunny, or fox )
hyein: i would guess its half-part what you explained, but also because she's working to achieve a fairytale etc etc
I think Danielle was about her smiling all the time
다니엘은 뮤직비디오 안에서 자기자신을 뉴진스라고 생각하고있고
이혜인은 자기 자신을 공주라고 생각해
Phoning
danielle's is, I think, being fake.
It could also show how the attention could potentially destroy them into "princess/star syndrome" but idk-
@@slk.. Heesoo in one of the descriptions of her videos was talking about Hyein and mentioned something about princess syndrome i believe
Newjeans girls are so creative and talented....... It's like they are presenting the concept of life, being an idol, being a fan, telling facts about toxic industry, giving the scenarios of youth etc

@@yesiamaisey We may need your services for all these comments under Kpop videos.
@@noorain2321 Yes, I agree with this one too :) A lot of people say she looks like a cat because of her eyes which is very cute to look at. :)

This
I personally think that both Ditto and OMG are partially about kpop fans. Its almost like these songs encourage fans to focus on their lives, be present and not put idols into boxes bc they are humans too.
im commenting here bc I do think this ties to your theory which I definitely agree with
This is a very good interpretation I feel like, I only now relised how much I've lost myself while watching others live the life I sometimes wish I had.
YES
I dont see any hate?

16:14 OMG literally, this explanation from Minji just blew my mind because all this makes sense knowing that Minji is the oldest member therefore the leader and has that "responsibility" to keep her members on a good path, wow.
17:02 Tzuyuuuuu cryingggg. She left her home at an early age to pursue her dream to be an idol. This clip was when she said she missed her mom and home. I'm low-key stanning New Jeans right now.

Once Again Thanks Jordan Orme
new jeans omg mv has definitely inspired me to become a better editor/story teller, so shoutout to everyone who worked hard on this project.
side note, Jordan's dancing is improving a lot.
I hope the label takes real good care of these girls bc they are a talented, entertaining bunch.
wow. i love the way you break down the video and explain it from both the filmmaking and story telling angles!
Min-ji, who thinks she's a doctor also speaks to the narrative that kpop fans says of idols - that their music saved them or healed them - the same way a doctor irl heals people. Which also fits well because Min-Ji is also the leader of the group, so she takes on that responsibility to look after the other members.
The team behind this mv is awesome and really creative, also this group is something looking for new music from them
Shout out for all the heads behind this MV's concept, YOU GUYS ARE GENIUSS

Haerin has facial features similar to a cat and tons of people compare her to cats that’s why she’s a cat in the MV. (But she loves frogs 🐸)
i just noticed that the scene in the book when hyein opens the book, danielle puts headphones on hyein and she turns around. it’s like the twice what is love music video where they were referencing movies
Also, OMG is kinda like a sequel to Ditto cuz it shows the idols' side of kpop reality while Ditto shows the fans' side

The song is about a Christian who believes in a really good God and a really good Heaven literally and is thought of as crazy by the society.
I would love to watch a longer video of you analysing it in details
this is why I love new jeans concept on a whole new level I love to hear the explanation and everything here.
Hi
I'm a Korean
This mv message is
Plz save newgeans from cult hive hospital. . .
At 13:32 the lights on the door looks like a pause button. Brilliant!
This music video means against cult group Dan-world
Yess OMG MV is definitely a legend. And i just realised there is 2 minji in 2:32 (in the MV) or 7:36 in this video. Such a great detail bro
omgggggg it just my head commands me to check your chanel just now and new upload from youuuuuu!!!! aaakkk so exciteddd
i like how this EXTREMELY GOOD MUSIC VIDEO, full of meaning is for a music that is in one of the best songs ive heard in a while, im not a kpop guy, im kinda new to this stuff, but damn, this song is so good, this music video is so good.. everything is so good
In Ditto (side a) Minji calls Haerin “Kitty Kang” (Kang being her real family name) and Kitty Kang responds that she’s not a cat.
Also K-pop idols are commonly given compliments that they “look like cats” (see itzy’s yeji in Cheshire M\V) and maybe Haerin is taking it a little too seriously and thinking she actually is a cat. So there’s that link too.
8:07 "la boum"It is a old teen movie about a girl falling in love in a party so the scene we see is a reference to that(sorry I'm french so my English is not that good)
Yes finally, i wanted you to react to this since so long !!!!!!!!!!
beside the discussion and all, i know this is because jordan is an editor himself but the way he engaged on the video also the reason why i always stayed till the end in his reaction. he knew how to emphasize important things by giving a little zooming moment on his section when he talked, or the right place on cutting to match his commentary. that's really nice to see and make his video enjoyable. thankyou for your reaction always, jordan!
pst. the boyz is coming back with a fallen angle concept and it'd be nice if you'd break down into it later. try to watch their trailer, it's awesome!
The new jeans omg music video is amazing😍😍😍😍😍
this is why i stanned NEWJEANS. the meanings behind everything.
I think haerin is a cat to show how fans want idols to behave and just act cute almost like a pet.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE THEORY FOR HAERIN ^^
DUUUUDE I WAS WAITING. THANKS, MY GUY!
Fun fact: they actually gave a dance spoiler of omg in the ditto music video
YES I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO REACT TO THIS THE LORE IS JUST SO DEEP
Actually when Hyein opens her book there's a list of fairy tails and even the revenant to which they then show each character in the MV. As for Haerin, she's a cat because she's been compared to a cat for her visuals and behaviors
Additionally, at the end when Minji confronted the hater she was in her doctor clothes. Basically saying those haters are people who need help
New Jeans as a whole (including every other staff of ador’s and not just the member) is rlly just on another lvl
