If "shocking" is the primary quality of your show you have failed as a storyteller. Shock should be a product of creative storytelling that still remains logically consistent.
Panagiotis Papatheodorou And Walter is the main character, has more screen time than Dany. Walter had growth as he slowly descended into the villain he was to become. Dany hadn’t killed anyone that they didn’t deserve up until “ the Bells”. Complete 180. “ hints” aren’t character development.
Exactly. There's always someone somewhere who'll bitch about something. Every second of GoT will be hated by at least one person somewhere in the world. That's what you get with such a big show. And then there's the legitimate criticism. There are a lot of inconsistencies and plot holes in the later seasons of the show and they should've listened more to those criticisms.
Well see, this is not such a bad mentality if you have a message and a story very true to your core. However, they don’t have the talent or for this kinda hubris haha
It’s not in this video, but my favourite is Joe Dempsie talking about them giving up on character development in Season 7. Most of the actors don’t straight up criticise the show but he just went for it.
They butchered her character. She was right it really changes how everyone sees Dany. And now I bet parents who named their daughter after her seriously regret it
She had a character change that should have taken a couple of seasons happen in about 1 episode. She went from the peoples champ to burn them all in no time at all
Yeah, I can't wait hearing what all of them (the cast mostly) have to say once it's all set and done. I guess the emotions and the anger would resurface at some point in future interviews. D&D are horrible writers and should never work in Hollywood ever again.
Anticlimactic and empty, feel robbed of a good character development, under researched materials and full of questionable logic. That summarised my feeling of this season 8 entirely.
The younger cast is definitely keeping their mouths shut - makes you think HBO did imply they would be black-balled. Which shows what everyone knows - no one not connected to the show would call it bad pure and simple.
GRRM & Thrones Analyzed ...Which begs the question : WHY THE HELL DID HBO GIVE IT THE GREEN LIGHTS FOR THIS SHIT TO BE PRODUCED !? If they were conscious of how bad it was !? No but seriously if D&D where to tired of this they ( HBO ) should have put them ( D&D ) on the bench and appoint other directors , writers and show runners to continue with it ! I don’t understand HBO’s decision to stick with D&D’s rushed ass nonsensical ending both on a money level and on a quality level !
@@SakiBlablabla Well I do a GOT channel now and obviously I won’t lie I want subscribers. So let the shilling begin. So here is my response: Re GRRM the problem is we do NOT have access to the contracts. People forget GOT was a VERY risky show so HBO gave people limited contracts including GRRM. Probably seasons 3-4 - we can only speculate the contracts were about to run out and DD renegotiated as did GRRM. I can only guess but I think that was the critical moment DD had a lot of power but GRRM had some leverage but after the new contracts happened DD took over and made very clear it was their show and GRRM left to do his own thing - we also have proof. We did a script every season but after 4 he stopped. He said he had no time but published quite a lot - books, essays, articles - so the explanation is weak. Maybe he had not time or it was clear post season 5 it was DD-GOT not GOT of the beginning. But again until we see the contracts we can't know for sure. Long story short timing. HBO resigned them in way giving DD enormous power after that if they fired them they would breach contracts and might be liable for tens or hundreds of millions. So they bit the bullet and hoped we wouldn't see the decline in value. HBO hoped the audience was made of fools and wouldn't notice. But we did and here we are.
@Angelina Gwendoline had to PAY to go to the Emmys so even if DD can't hurt them directly moneywise they can deny them many things and awards to matter in getting connections and jobs. So yeah its tricky but we need to be honest Carice van Houten has spoken in defense of DD and I pay her respect this is her honest opinion but as an opinion it can be challenged. I think we can support the performers BUT NOT what they did on GOT imo
The acting cast, in their personal capacity made Season 8 worth watching. They got into their roles and acted beyond 100%....they were brilliant. Hats off to all of you.
So everything is good...except the writing..it’s not like the decisions are bad I don’t hate none of the main choices they made but all the set up to go into those choices doesn’t make any damn sense. What the fuck was the point of the 3 eyed Raven. In the most important moment for Bran and Jon Snow in the franchise. Jon got pinned by a damn dragon and Bran...idk what the fuck he was doing it’s like they had something set up for him and forgot about him.

Epic. I don’t know. One of those.” 🤣🤣🤣 He literally was trying to warn us and we didn’t want to hear it.
Yeah, sure, we don't want a "happy" ending, we just want one that makes at least a little sense, that has been built up to and that is at least vaguely related to the character arcs. Season 8 has just been complete rubbish. Saying "we've always done what people don't want" us just not understanding the issue correctly.
It's not about what happened, the endings made complete sense on paper (including Dany going crazy) it's HOW it happened, that completely lacked any consistency both in regard to the lore and the characters. You're completely missing the point.
GoT's biggest strength used to be the storylines, intrigue and dialogues. But in the last season, the show was carried almost exclusively by the amazing cinematography. It ended up looking like a Michael Bay movie: awesome visuals & explosions, but a nonsensical plot.

@@SakiBlablabla Well I do a GOT channel now and obviously I won’t lie I want subscribers. So let the shilling begin. So here is my response:
Re GRRM the problem is we do NOT have access to the contracts.
So yeah its tricky but we need to be honest
Carice van Houten has spoken in defense of DD and I pay her respect this is her honest opinion but as an opinion it can be challenged. I think we can support the performers BUT NOT what they did on GOT imo

that's pretty untrue. The moral should be more like "don't let success that you got from someone else's source material inflate your fraternity egos, and just because you got big from it doesn't mean you can do whatever you want and fuck the fans over by rushing to get to do star wars films."
Masie and Sophie interview
Translation
0.5% will like it
99.5% will be pissed
Sophie's throwing a wobbly at the moment because of the popularity of the petition that she disagrees with. Right now she seems to be one of few who doesn't have criticisms about the last two seasons, whether that's because she's being "professional" about it and not openly saying anything or she actual genuinely likes how it was written.
Chaos is a ladder
@@Kyle_Hubbard You know the old saying: Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
I am fairly certain that she also doesn't like the writing, but if she starts bashing the season she could risk her career.
She doesn't exactly have the staying power of Emilia Clarke.
Every roll she got was because of her acting in GoT.
Yes. Those 0.5% who are sitting there, asking me - "who is this again"? And I'm like - Edmure Tully. He's the one wedded at the Red Wedding....
And after the Episode they are like. Yeah, this was cool. Dragons bruning cities and stuff. Why didn't you liked it....

Thanks emilia, for just straight up saying ''it's ridiculous''
And he answers, "Disappointing" when asked to describe the ending in one word. When called out on it, stammers, backtracks and says, "Epic." At another point admits that he, "Cried his eyes out." And if you see the final table read, with his shock and anguish, his head in his hands, then wiping away tears (he was the only one who held off and didn't read the script), you realize that's the brutal truth.
Peter Dinklage even made Jokes about how they put People into the Crypts of Winterfell while the Night King resurrect Undead ^^
GameNerdVeggie the thing that fucks me off the most about that is that the kings of the north are known as the kings of winter they constantly say ”burn the dead” only to bury all their relatives in one place.it will never unfold like this!

Emilia is to good for our world.
Yes....yes she is
I love her
I'm worried about her, in a Robin Williams
kinda way
she is a pure little cinnamon roll to pure for this wolrd
And you know this how? I’m sure she is but we don’t really know here

Emilia: *pretends to vomit*
Same, Emilia. Same
Emilia show us she throw up when she read the ending...
She don't play...
Emily is basically describing the stages of grief she went through finding out they killed her character before she ever dies
The best most honest answer to the ending from Emilia Clarke....
Reporter: will there be closure?
Emilia: *cringe* ...... yes? *cringe again*
"A *very shitty* closure,but..yes..sure..there will be a closure...😅😅😅💔😭"by Emilia Clarke
I am so sad they rushed this last season. The episodes are visually encredible. And the actors as always are amazing, But the writing and plots are such a let down.
Loved the dragons but the story was terrible. The show needed a Hollywood ending not this mess.

Should’ve made it in 2 seasons instead, one to wrap up the night king arc, and then a season dedicated to the final game of thrones, in my opinion.

"disappointing or epic.. one of those" yeah cuz that makes sense lol
I just want to hug Emilia now.
Right! Almost 10 years of hard work on her part to create this iconic character, and to have to undo it all in 1 episode. She and Dany deserved way better.
@@cwells45 my thoughts exactly.
@@cwells45 I suspect that there will be tragedy and even humiliation in the next episode.
@@cwells45 We don't know what is being "undone". It hasn't been aired yet. Unless you know something that I don't (I don't want spoilers though).
@KingOne Ouch, why being so rude?
From their faces you can tell that it's bad and they knew it but contracts are a thing. 🤣
Can’t wait until South Park tears the GoT writers apart 😂
Thank you! I hadn't thought of that be surely they will. They could do an entire season about it, bless their souls.
The only saving grace of the shit show that is the last season, Is that every character hates it as much as us. Bless Emilia and Kit.
Honestly, every actor killed it. The fight scenes were intense and very well choreographed. CGI was fucking top notch as well. It's just the writing that killed this show. Every actor did their best with the trash that was given to them. What's worst is that its not only a slap to the face of the actors and fans, but to all the people behind the scenes that spent tremendous time trying to deliver the best final product they could. The stupid plot armor, the complete switch in character choices was all stupid writing. D&D are the sole reason this show turned to trash.
@@hekickedmydog I don't quite agree with that. Season 8 episode 3 for example was so damn dark most viewers could barely even see what the hell was going on, and with the choppy editing also. So the production of the show was not flawlessly done.
I feel bad for Emilia Clarke. She doesn’t deserve what they did with Dany.
The mad queen is George RR Martin. It's how he intended her to end up.
@@bailmasterflex the problem is HOW they did it, not the fact that she became "mad" itself

So the writers made fun of us for spending 9 years watching this show?
Game of thrones went from like 2% of viewer being critics, then comes along season 8 and it's like 80% of the community.
It's impossible to support this horrible plot. Just impossible!
@@Emy-fv5ny Exactly, but people will still say we are just hoping on a hate bandwagon for no reason.
Only 80%? Wow, you're very gentle.
what a very generous man
True and it deserves all the criticism. D&D destroyed GOT with their horrible writing. I stopped watching GOT after that debacle of Ep 4. Rhaegals death was incredibly stupid and made no sense at all. It takes a one in a million shot to hit 1 and he hit him 3 times while he wants even stationary. All I'm doing now in reading Fanfiction whether it is GOT or A song of Ice and Fire. Definetily better than Dumb and dumber show.

Underrated comment.
laughed out loud... still chuckling
I'm fucking weak af 😂😭💀💀
LOL
The fact that Emília was in shock and didn’t see anything coming, speaks volumes. As much as d&d & fans wanna be like, “foreshadowing” her reaction shows... “foreshadowing is not character development.” Messy, lazy, sloppy writing. End of story. What she did in the past, what people are calling “clues” is basic shit rulers, people in power do... none of these things equals or alludes to the slaughter of innocent.
I wasn't shocked. From season 1, I never liked Dany - the problem isn't her becoming "evil" but NOTHING made sense. Geography changed radically, massive plot holes, pointless shock value deaths, editing mistakes, baffling dialogue, out-of-character actions - it was a logic-free zone where things just happened. Her turn made no sense but then nothing did making the whole story mute.
seems like every actor wanna say "It's terrible", yet they were forbidden to speak so straightforward.
Emilia such a sweet and honest person traying to tell us, GOT ending is shit!. WAIT A MINUTE! The same happened to Mark Hamill, holy shit, well DUMB AND DUMBER did it again.
Mark Hamil and Emilia Clark need to do a quirky indie comedy about getting revenge for their famous characters being shit on. Maybe a road trip movie.
@KingOne Different strokes. I haven't watched GoT since season one (I vastly preferred the books), but TLJ was... a mess. A mess with some great ideas buried in there, but Luke especially was squandered. I can see why Hamill was pissed that his character was turned into a hippie hermit.
So how is the final season?
The cast: 😬
we might not have wanted them to happen...but we wanted them to make sense.
weak foreshadowing is not character progression.
I can't decide if I laughed more at Kit Harrington's disappointed face or Emilia's "best season ever" line.
I am disgusted by this ending not “satisfied “
I think they were just trying not to give anything away
Thats how i feel
Poor Emilia Clarke. She is so pure, wholesome & adorable. Screw D&D for making her sad! That's like kicking a puppy. It's just immoral & something you should never do.
Jamie, Best comments ever about Dany. Right on point!
The best acting in Season 8 was these actors giving interviews trying not to say "It's all rather shite though, innit?"
Not really... they gave their everything in season 8.... especially emilia...but they didn't get enough credit because the writing stinked
No one seriously expect to be happy but yes we want to be satisfied but so far, we're FURIOUS instead. Satisfied my arse.
Emilia Clarke is a treasure lmao. The MCU should cast her.
DC should've cast her as Mera...to give us one with a personality...and reunite her with Jason Momoa so there'd be actual chemistry on screen.

Disney should take Star Wars away from them because of this.
