@@the-kiva-blower-minds2771 well no, not exactly. I don’t really want to go into detail cuz spoilers but I promise that Haru’s character is SO much more then that. Plus she’s not toxic in the slightest. I suggest reading (or at least watching) it first. Also what does mpm mean? I’m guess mom but ur not THAT immature and stupid that you misspelled the word mom (and use it as in insult) riiiiiight?

Totally agree with almost everything you’ve said here! The one thing that I didn’t quite get was when you said melon wasn’t relevant to Legosi’s character - he’s not a foil, but I read him as a representation of all of Legosi’s greatest fears about his potential future with Haru (with melon being the only known carnivore x herbivore hybrid and Legosi’s anxiety about the possibility of having a family with Haru)

This is true. I guess it mainly comes down to me liking how Riz was done in the story more than Melon. Since Riz's presence was there from the start of the series. And Melon just kinda swoops in the last arc, so I don't feel the pay off when they battle.

I loved the series but totally agree, though I think if Paru kept the original pacing she would have exhausted herself. She could have written another 15 volumes and still going.
Reading the extra pages, it sounded like she never stopped and it was making her Ill. It was her first manga, so I can only imagine how much pressure she was under to complete it, with the hype, anime, all in such a short amount of time!
I cannot wait to see what she does next, I hope she goes back to Beastars in the future to wrap up the loose ends, and actually find out what happens with this change in the world; beastar? The government? The ocean (that damn random whale, how did he end WW)? Six Eyes? The dog breeding? Melons face at the end suggests he’s got a plan to get out.
Also we are getting two volumes of Beast Complex coming up, so we can hope that she expands on what happens with some of the other characters then.

Yea. I'll probably do some more Beastars related videos in the future. (Waaayy later though.) Because I truly do enjoy the series. Especially enough to even consider making more videos about it. Most likely character overviews and analysis' - Louis, Juno, Gosha, and even a review on Beast Complex.

To be so for real what pisses me off is the fact that Melon genuinely seemed like a great and strong character in terms of killing instincts and backstory. From what was shown he was ruthless, didn't care about anyone, and would kill just about anyone in a heartbeat. Proof of that was when he didn't hesitate to shoot the MC before with a bullet or kill his mother without a second thought, or even those classmates of his, etc... He really was an interesting villain, one that could get you hooked since unlike some of the animes out there, he wasn't empathetic whatsoever, not even with someone who was somewhat like him, and he wouldn't even become one in the end, he was just a criminal with unredeemable qualities. But when it came to his final fight with the MC it was very dull, almost as if that strong ruthless status and prestige the reader associates him with was downgraded for a fight he could've won, it felt like it was just prolonged by his dialogues and by him relying on just choking and tossing the MC instead of using his claws to add more serious damage the same way he used them to kill/damage that Jaguar, rather than just using them once or twice at the beginning when obviously he's at an advantage. He could've done a million other things to make that fight interesting to read since he was a very smart character. He had so much potential, especially since the MC was a walking idiot who stuck to his values and would barely fight back properly when things got serious, (he was good at the start then it just went to him throwing a few punches here and there and at some point he was literally running around.) Instead of all that, the fight just ended with him (melon) pitifully grabbing his gun and pointing it toward himself instead of shooting the enemy in front of him, he had two bullets too, so surely the MC would've died if he had shot him. Then in the end, the MC takes the credit for bringing him down when he BARELY did anything since he shot himself and put himself at a disadvantage. Overall it was boring and frustrating since it could've been better. The story and the execution of the plot felt dull after tem's murder arc, most of the characters didn't hit the same anymore. This isn't me saying that the MC shouldn't ALWAYS win, but to make such a great character fall off just for the sake of the MC causes the story just become anticlimactic. What's the point of introducing another "training" plot with a strong rabbit who trained under gohin if it won't lead to interesting results? I don't even like how the MC progressed throughout the story, he just fell off.

Melon should have been a great foil for Lego-C. A hybrid who didn't have the support Legosi did and who represents what potential kids with Haru could turn out to be. But ultimately Melon was just furry Jared Leto Joker/ Plot tumor. Fingers crossed Orange changes the ending for the anime. Can't be worse than what we got.

The biggest thing for me about the ending is that it doesnt FEEL like the end. It feels more like the end of a chapter not so much the end of the book. These characters still have stories to tell and there are still plots that need to be explored.
First, I refuse to believe the Louis-Juno ship is dead. Bring them back, I dont really care how. Its much more narratively satisfying that way.
Second, show us how the world continues after the market is destroyed does the destruction of that market spread throughout all of society? Does every market get destroyed? Is there a massive uprising from meat addicts and criminal organizations? So much stuff to be explored.
Legoshi and Harus relationship my be finally solidified, but whats next? They JUST officially started dating at the end. There are many more relationships trials and tribulations they can experience.
Finally, we never saw the next Beastar! For a story that is Beastars we only saw ONE beastar and then they explicitly states that Louis and Legoshi were planning to pick up where Gosha and Yahya left off and become a duo of Beastars...and then nothing.
All of these problems can easily be solved with more content. None of these issues or the ending ruins the story. The story just needs to be finished.
PS Yahya refusing the fish sausage was weird to me also. The ORIGINAL Beastar basically handed you the solution to all of societies ills and he said, "NAH!" That is an weird story decision.
