When I watched this movie with my cousin, we spent 20 minutes after the movie trying to figure out what kind of work the other apes were doing in the quarry, since they were just moving rocks for centuries back and north and not building anything 😂

It's really refreshing to see the main hero fight a villian who is physically smaller than the hero. With Scarking being smaller than Kong.
Yeah but Skar King and the rest of his species are trapped in a section of the Hollow Earth, so there's likely little to no food there, so they're all malnourished and Kong is healthy and has all the food he could ask for maybe that’s why he’s much bigger than them all

There's a scene in the throne room where one of the ape soldiers talks to Skar King about where Kong and Suko escaped to. There's a bunch of frightened female apes who are all holding offspring that have the same reddish coat that Skar King has, more or less implying that Skar uses them to breed a number of children. Given the kind of cruel character he is, I wouldn't be surprised if he pleasures himself with those poor females without their consent but they're forced to endure.

I see Shimo's simplistic nature as a result of years of abuse by the Skar King. Think about it, he clearly imprisoned her and only had her ACT in accordance to his orders. Otherwise she was kept in a state of psychological limbo, unable to act without orders because if she does he inflicts pain on her. So I see her behavior more the result of years of trauma rather than a lack of intelligence.

My interpretation is that, given she was one of the first titans, her intellect must be the least developed. As animals today have become more intelligent in comparison to more prehistoric species, I speculate that Shimo, while largely traumatized, was also a simple creature.

I think for millions of years shimo has been kept under commands, so its natural that after getting freed from such an experience,, she would still be wanting commands on what to do next, or afraid of doing anything. Atleast thats what i saw at the end when she started looking around helplessly only to godzilla giver her command on what to do.

Scar King was the very definition of a tyrant.

Omg I thought I was one of the only people who noticed the fact that Skar King was keeping all the female apes and passing down only his genetics. Lol It completely blew me away on how a film like GxK could slip in such mature themes like that in a movie based on dumb monster action. (not a bad thing)
Now realizing what Skar King did, re watching it only made every other scene with him even more shocking for certain clips. Almost a new experience ngl. But I'm glad people are starting to talk about. Thank y'all!

I like to also think Skar King and his troops were cannibals. I mean we saw a bunch of Kongs with their heads on pikes in the opening of the cave before Kong heads down to the other apes. Definitely would also explain why those group of apes attacked Kong from the start and using Suko as bait to lure him, so that way they can eat him. That's really got to be traumatizing for Kong. Last time he saw another one of his species, it was his parents who died defending him from Skull Crawlers till the very end then years later, finally meets up with others of his kind but they end up being murderous cannibals willing to kill him with no hesitation or mercy... just like the beasts that he originally and still hated. Almost poetic really. Personally think that's a great story detail, shows that the movie has more competence to it. Even if it might have been coincidence... I like to think it wasn't. Either way, Skar King prove to be a really awesome villain. He's no Ghidorah or Mechagodzilla but I think he deserves to be right alongside them.
I find it interesting that most of the kong weapons were bones. LIke there are plenty of monsters to hunt and kill for bones, but I don't think skar king has much respect for his underlings especially if he kills them.

We see Scar King running for his life when Godzilla started to fight him.
He literally throws him from just his mouth over his head.
It was clearly stated in the movie that Godzilla annihilated Scar King's entire army, including probably the Kong species since he fought a war against them and drove the survivors into exile in remote locations and imprisoned them there. Since there is a Kong skull in the Scar King's throne room, he must have killed a king Kong and seized control of their species before launching the invasion of the other titans' domains that sparked off the Titan War. After all, the movie stated the Scar King led an army of great apes against the other titans

Alteori Shimo is not a dog, shes more like in Stockholm syndrome with the apes hence why she went back with Kong and Suko. Clearly she and Gojira are related like a tiger and a lion or a horse and mule. She flashes her dorsal plates like Gojira can so clearly there was some communication between them.

I'm making an assumption since their was a connection with the two Kaiju from the first movie, since they were both released around the same time found each other to do what they needed to do.
The gvk novel already confirmed shimo and godzilla aren't related.
Even the designer for shimo took inspiration from polar bears, komodo dragons, chameleons and barugon from gamera at one point. None of the design process taking inspiration from goji.
She kind of resembles a species of Anguirus.

to be fair about the guy getteing pulled into the cage; he was the one that kept on fucking around and I mean........fuck around and find out. Otherwise orangatans are usually pretty chill and don't really act hyper aggressive towards us (unlike chimps) or are even that andgry...I mean they CAN be, but usually they are not. They can actually be disturbingly smart, as one from a zoo in the US kept leaving his enclosed and then one time they left a camera there to see which zoo keeper was not locking the gate. They found out that Fu ManChu (IDK if that is how you spell his name, but that is how you say it) was caught on camera picking up a metal 'stick' and using it to LOCK PICK THE FUCKING DOOR....he then went around and let the other Orangatans out. Hilariously, he was soo chill that the zookeepers came to the conclusion that he was doing cause he found it funny.

You know, to answer that last question. Those other kongs aren't as nourished as our Kong. So in theory, to eliminate competition. Skar could be using any children that could pose a threat to him as food.... its twisted but not off the table.
Though that aside, Kong was also a muddy brown kind of color that grew up to be a dark brownish grey. So, with that in mind, the kids could have just grown up with darker fur patterns than the orange they had as kids. A lot of them seem to have their hair taken off somehow, so maybe Skar burns or covers their orange fur to keep himself looking the most pristine.
Okay, the food theory is extremely dark but awesome theory. Burning their fur though would just cause it to fall off.

What Skar King has done to Shimo is what a lot of dictators do to slaves. They demean and break them down and build them up to be something that'll be submissive and obedient, a person can revert into an animal or dog by torture and made to think like a dog. Skar King has something that has absolute control over Shimo and when he used it on Shimo you can clearly see she's in pain, negative enforcement over a continuous time can make you get away from the thing that's causing you pain, what if Skar King found Shimo when she was a baby titan and whipped her into submission using that crystal. Skar King is an example of Dictators and cruelty, he may come off as strong and powerful bcuz he used and controlled others but when he lost control of Shimo he was truly shown to be weak

In the scene where the ape comes back to tell scar about the hallow earth vortex, we can see that all the other babies that the mother kongs are holding baby red kongs. Which supports both theories, that the babies just grow into into the more normal kong look, either that or scar just bred those genes into those children(which is unlikely due to the whole cross breeding thing, but it is a cinematic movie, so who knows.)

Out of all the kaiju onscreen, Scar King was the only true monster.
I was kind of horrified when I read his villains wiki and it said "Mass Rape (heavily implied)" I guess it makes sense since his design is based on a chimp, a species known for intense violence and he is a tribal leader, but wtf.
Just a thought. Kong grew up with no parents and chose to protect. Skar King might have gone though a similar situation and chose to be angry and controlling. Not to sympathize with Skar King but it's an idea.

Saw this last night, and those crystals made me think "The One Who Ate A Star" isn't Godzilla, but Space Godzilla. Since one of his abilities include crystal growth. (When makes huge crystal pillars or spikes shoot up out of the ground)
We saw that the female kongs were in Skar kings throne room, and I knew what he was doing with them
Hopefully Kong will be a better father to Suko. And for all we know, in the next movie Godzilla will have a kid of his own.

The thing is, shimo isn't like a dog. She's more like docile and peaceful, and that's probably the reason why she was like that with Kong. But from the looks of it, shimo clearly is smarter than that since she was able to freeze King Ghidorah in the past with godzilla. So it makes sense that people would ship her with godzilla because they worked together in the past and have some sort of relationship, but i agree with the where kong shouldn't be treating her like a pet and wanted the ending to be more like shimo going with godzilla in the end and cuddling with him in the colosseum lol

She actually never worked with Godzilla in the past. The audiobook for the GxK novelization confirms Godzilla defeated Ghidorah on his own, Shimo just accidently froze Ghidorah while she was created the ice age somewhere else in the world.

I don't know if the ice Godzilla is a dog per say. She seemed capable of doing her own things through the movie. We see her activly try and resist scar using the shard on her, and when it breaks we see it's Godzilla who convinces her to finish the job.
I think she's a intelligent Kaiju, just a sub instead of a Dom. Hence why Kong can show her affection like scratching her chin and not be hurt.
