Tiamat was originally from the Monsterverse comics. Also, the fight in the movie was originally longer but was cut short for runtime. Maybe a Deleted Scene will be the full fight.

Why the hell would they cut out fight scenes when that's the whole reason people come to the movie. This movie was already one of the shortest in the mv
She was actually supposed to be in the movie longer and the fight scene was longer but they cut it due to run time
I'm hoping this is the case, cause then when they release it on DVD/streaming they might add deleted footage and extend the movie time. I really think that's what should be done with DVD/streaming to improve their sales and appeal of getting the later release.
Hopefully they release a non theatrical cut like other movies have and we can see a longer fight.
the RIOT fight was actually longer but was cut, the extended version will be in the BLU RAY
it includes the extended SHIMO and GODZILLA fight, extended fight of SKAR KING and KONG, SUKO scene coming out of the portal while observing at the battle.

She basically 'slapped' him to prevent him from using his atomic breath, as the commenter suggested, though in all honestly it was more or less minor knockback from her flashy ass entrance, and it was basically a friendly interaction.
Godzilla fought both Scylla and Tiamat before in the comic and made them submit. In this movie both of them fought him again and he was probably like, “Yeah, too dumb to live”. Plus, he was probably in a huge hurry because he knew Skar King and Shimo were on the way. The second he saw Kong was back he was in full curb stomp mode too.

Honestly Godzilla was right to kill both Scylla and Tiamat, as they are officially classified as Destroyers, who take a lot of liberties in expense of natural balance, and being a direct threat to Godzilla himself. In Godzilla X Kong: The Hunted we see Scylla being voracious absorbing too much radiation, potentially evolving and challenge Godzilla, whom she had tested his patience in the past. In Godzilla: Dominion the opportunistic Tiamat attacked an injured Godzilla, and although she seemed to obey him once he got the upper hand, she then went on the most powerful source of radiation on the Earth's surface, potentially evolving to become a much greater threat to Godzilla in the future. All in all Godzilla spared both Scylla and Tiamat, but they crossed the line...

The plot could of written out "godzilla needs her energy specifically" and just have him go to his own lair and evolve there. Hardly anything would change plot wise if that section was taken out. Rodan is a destroyer and he's been in his volcano since 2019. Gxk is in 2027...rodan who us a destroyer has been doing borderline nothing for almost 10 years.....let that sink in....
I want fans to keep the same energy if rodan got that the same treatment tiamat got. Godzilla needs rodan's volcano, rodan doesn't leave and godzilla kills him. Watch so many fans riot over that but say nothing for tiamat.

Actually the main reason Godzilla killed Scylla is because she was heating up the Ice caps and failing to do her job so Big G basically fired her from office...
Tiamat was doing some illegal shenanigans with her radiation and Big G wasn't letting that slide either so she was fired aswell...
Actually based on the novel, Scylla was amassing power and she wasn't doing her job; so Godzilla fired her.
As for Tiamat, Godzilla apparently need her powers and her lair for radiation to fight the coming threat. 🤷♂

Except we saw nothing of the sort. Forgive me for not being a comic book nerd, I'm just a fan of the legendary Godzilla series and apart from minus one I haven't watched any other Godzilla film... There was no context provided in this film other than "very powerful and territorial" and that was it.
As far as I know, Godzilla just woke up and chose violence for no other reason than pink juice with a side of kaiju murder...
And damnit, if you're gonna build up a monster like they built up Tiamat, at least give us a spectacle of a fight before Godzilla inevitably kills her... Yeah, my least favorite scene by a country mile.

She didn’t attack him again lol. He spun the block on her ass. She was literally just sleeping.
Scylla was getting more radiation and attacking more city’s , not listening to demands. This made Godzilla mad as hell so he had one way to defeat her, rushing. As you could see goji running, elbowed Scylla, threw her and freaking turns into a Jurassic park raptor on Scylla.
Tiamat and Scylla both had previous beef with Godzilla, look up Goji center and they explain it way better than I could
Just so you know from another video I've seen the scylla thing didn't "just happen" but it was a direct continuation to a novel (like, the novel ended with the starting shot of them fighting in the movie and "to be continued in godzilla x kong: the new empire") but basically scylla was going around eating radioactive sources (which is why she looked different) without care for the effects on the environment even tho Godzilla told her not to but she got away with it cause she was faster than him, so the fight in the movie is where she thought she could take him on this time while godzilla decided that at this point he needed to kill her to stop her
I like Tiamat design she looks like one of those Chinese Water Dragons but with Neon Colors and in Godzilla x Kong Godzilla pink spikes remind me of Godzilla 2000🔥🐉
I also liked the movie, but expecting the monsterverse writers to give any deserved justice for non-important plot related kaiju is very unlikely. They're just gonna milk the cameos along with kong and godzilla name. RIP tiamat, you deserved better.

It could have been that she was a Destroyer Titan that was supercharged herself since she looked different in the Graphic Novel, and Godzilla maybe understood that she was probably a bigger threat than people know. As a Destroyer, if she decided to use her supercharged form to go on a rampage, it would have been a problem.
Also Godzilla understands things on a far more higher complexity than we do. To the point the complexity (if you follow me) would seem simple for those who only see him as a bully.
Maybe the Novel will be more explanatory. But my theory is that he understood the threat from below was so great, he didn't have time to try and parlay with Tiamat, knowing she would not care and simply attack. He didn't have time for that when facing a global extinction event.

I was sad! I knew her from the comics, I was excited to finally see a bioluminescent aquatic kaiju, thinking "my thalassophobia would scream if I saw a kaiju like that at the bottom of the ocean", I knew she would appear in the film, so I read the comic with my boyfriend before the premiere so he could have a reference.😭😭
Destroyer is defined basically by the attitude of the kaiju, Scylla and Tiamat are super aggressive so they’re destroyers whereas behemoth and methuselah aren’t cause they are chill like mothra. Autocorrect makes some things annoying but I need it

Hey Alteori, love your drawing! Little digital art tip: You’re using a fill/bucket tool to color 5:58 which is totally fine. But when the bucket tool is used it tends to fill everything except that very small edge next to the line art, which is super annoying. I’m not sure what program you’re using, i’m assuming something like Krita? But instead of using the bucket, try using the selection tool. When you select the area you want to color, you can edit the selection and expand the selected area by one or two pixels, which should eliminate the white line left behind when you color.

Also kaijus are walking nuclear power plant. So probably not safe to eat, like at all. But It's sad that they added this detail in Godzilla king of Monsters, where the kaiju fight the area becomes overgrown with plants and wildlife. Then yeet it out of latter film.

Goji center released a video on why Godzilla killed Tiamat and it makes a lot of sense, they even referenced your video in it. And as for why Tiamat got killed so quickly was because when Tiamat fought Godzilla in the comics Godzilla was starved and exhausted from going around the planet nonstop taking care of the titans, meanwhile this time Godzilla was at full strength and was super charged as well. And as for the whole destroyer thing it doesn’t mean how powerful they are it signifies their nature with destroyers like rodan being more willing to commit outright destruction and are more willing to side with another destroyer alpha titan like ghidorah. Also plus you need to look at this from Godzilla’s point of view, not only did this titan side with a rival alpha but it also almost killed him once and now it took a spot that has a crazy amount of radiation getting stronger, but it tries to attack him first, Tiamat attacked Godzilla first which I think is very over looked, yeah I feel like Godzilla killing Tiamat was very justified and he did us a favor because if he didn’t kill her there would be a big chance Tiamat could come back and be an even bigger problem later.
To answer your question about the meat, Godzilla actually will eat the meat of other titans sometimes to consume the radiation absorbed into it. So he probably scarfed down Tiamat before stealing her charging port for himself.
Remember that godzilla animated show spin off from the Roland Emeric movie? It had great many memorable monsters,ripe running gags,and some weirdly/good casting(check it out here youtube)!

I feel like they're killing off the MonsterVerse-exclusive Titans for the sole reason that they're "expendable." It's not a horrible reason, but I would've loved to see more exposition for them in the films at the very least. I know the fights were supposed to be longer, so I hope there's a director's cut.

2013 Godzilla was by far my favourite monster movie. I felt chills when Godzilla appeared on screen. The movie was grounded and made you feel the sense of scale of these monsters.

I’m not even lying when Godzilla just insta killed Tiamant I mumbled out loud in the theater “Well that was easy.” I mean, you’d think her being powered up on that pink energy juice he would’ve put up more of a fight.
Godzilla was actually hunting Scylla for a while before the movie based on a graphic novel released, Scylla was actively seeking out radiation and causing extreme levels of environmental damage, and that ticked big G off, and he’s was on the hunt for her for about I think a year or two if I remember correctly
They really didn’t. This was a perfectly realistic fight between them given their actual power levels and the circumstances.
The reason why Godzilla killed both Tiamat and Scylla was because they wanted to take Godzillas role of Alpha and then destroy everything, so Godzilla killed them before they became too much of a threat.
Tiamat is basically Manda (copyright free) and Scylla is Komunga (copyright free) so them dying doesn't bother me.
As I've said before, given Tiamat is the spiritual successor to Manda. It was kinda obvious she was going to die.
Manda in the old lore was a loose cannon as well. And often was treated like such.
Tiamat is just too much of a threat. And like Shimos' back story, all of that information isn't covered in the movies.

I think many people forget that the great thing about kaiju movies in general is that due to the nature of the characters they can easily be brought back, it's not like a movie killing an established human character, with kaiju they can easily bring them back and say that their another member of the same species, similar to what they did many kaiju in the showa era, deaths like this have been a key part of kaiju films for decades so I personally see reason to be sad about Tiamat and Scylla's deaths.

A destroyer class titan is a titan who's sole purpose is to destroy an ecosystem for their own gain. In the graphic novel tiamat attacks Godzilla after his first fight with gidora. So with him in a weakened state she decided to attack to usurp his position so she could kill freely, scylla is also a destroyer. The movie fight was for revenge, ecosystem safety & to evolve to be on par with shimo

I feel like they were testing if people would approve of a “Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters” movie. They hinted at the various governments wanting the monsters be destroyed throughout the movie. I think they might try to bring back the ORCA alpha machine to make the monsters go crazy.

You know what is crazy, scylla was returning the polar Ice caps in king of the monsters, that's who godzilla decided to kill
truthfully, godzilla in gxk acted more of a villain than skar king. i mean skar king was indeed a great villain, but he lacked that dominant strength and power that would have made him the strongest villain in the monsterverse. i mean, goji ripped out some meat from tiamat man, and thats before he chopped her into pieces.
I feel like there are monsters from fantasy books that would be so great in Kaiju movies, like the Chasm Fiends / Great Shells in Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive.
Y’all need to remember that Godzilla hasn’t really slept til that scene in the coliseum . And the planet tells him to fight and balance the planet. So if you keeping him from balancing the planet and you don’t listen to the first warning , you are done

I do wish the fight turned out like this. Godzilla invades tiamat's home, they fight, at the part where she bites her head, she senses danger and lets go, uncoils and let her whirlpool powers drag godzilla down for a chance to escape but godzilla grabs a part of her and manages to hit the breath on her (not point blank) and then she uses her acid breath to sting his eyes a bit and let the whirlpools slow godzilla so she can escape with a ripped fin and burnt area. Scylla death is justifiable as the novellization said she was going around eating radiation to overthrow godzilla but tiamat only died for being territorial and defending her home from an invader even though goji had a reason for needing her home to save the world.
Imagine all the other titans just become victims when destroyah pops in the monster that’s puts the destroy in destroy all monsters.
The way Tiamat looked in the movie reminds me of Mizutusne from Monster Hunter.
We have seen in past Monsterverse movies that death is not necessarily the end for the monsters. A Muto came back somehow in KOTM and Mothra is back so maybe it is not the end for Tiamat as well. Maybe there is a dormant egg she hid somewhere.

This reminds me of Kit Fisto from Star Wars. A terrific and skilled warrior in the 2D and CG animated Clone Wars Series, only to be killed off easily by Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith.
Wow, I had no idea Tiamat was a kaiju character in the Monsterverse along with Godzilla and Kong. I had just heard Jordan Peterson talking about the ancient mythological dragon or serpent who served as a metaphor for the great unknown. Slaying her and feeding her to the masses was a metaphor for a hero voluntarily giving up the protection of tried and true culture for a time at great risk to himself to try something new and then sharing what he had learned with his people when he returns.
She had it coming .. she was charging up to try to challenge Godzilla again .. and Godzilla went ahead and took care of it

She WAS a threat. She, nor any other Titan get to have their own "house" of the surface. ALL the surface is Godzilla's house. And "destroyer" means "bad guy". The only other class is "savior". All the Destroyer class titans are looking to take out Godzilla, so they can run rampant, and sit on the throne.
Just because a couple Destroyer Titans did something bad means one other Destroyer Titan is bad yeah sure that makes total sense even though Godzilla already defeated her and she was just staying in her cave minding her own business.
