I genuinly got emotional when you called her your daughter. Im adopted and have stop parents and hearinig thhose words always fills me heart. I am so happy for you and your adorable family
Oh this is just impossibly beautiful. The love you put into that wood. The history, the joy and the *impossibly* proper way your daughter placed her shoes on the floor. I'm verklempt. Your channel is magic, Laura.
It’s awesome to be reminded that the 21st century has some good things going for it. “One of my mums builds furniture for me on RUclips” is definitely right up there!
I have a small bookcase my grandfather built for me 60 years ago. It has been with me longer than any person or pet has been in my life. Things made for us by those who love us carry that love always.
Made a grown man like me tear up at the end! What a well designed and patiently constructed piece of furniture that your daughter can use for as long as she likes (and hopefully passes it on to your grandchildren!)
What a heartwarming project. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us, Laura. She's so cute with those tiny fancy pants and her cute tiny shoes, lovely big girl
Nothing can compare to building something for your children and it makes no difference how old they are, because they are still you children, and you build it with love.
Between Laura and Auntie Simone, these kids are going to have the coolest rooms and toys. Of course, they may not be allowed to bring some of them to school for safety reasons, but they will have fun at home.
Beautiful. I'd love to see a video on the wood finishes you select for your projects, waxes/oils/stains etc. It's something I'd love to know more about from someone experienced with them.
I love how it's always so clear what energy you're bringing to a project--excitement, delight, frustration, anticipation, joy--and this one it was so clear you were bringing so much love. beautiful.
I have a small bookcase my beloved uncle built for my brother in 1958. It was my daughter’s in 1989 and means so much to me. It’s outlasted most people in my life, but I’d’ve given it up if my brother had had children. Now I won’t give it up.
Yes, great job! Those are the best jobs to build, specially when you rewarded with their great reactions, that is priceless. involve them as soon as you think it is save to give you a helping hand. those quality times are the best. i did it with all my daughters as soon as they could talk i took them with me to jobs or just in the workshop. and they still talk about it even now they have their own children, they miss me around and i them. but with one blink of your eye suddenly you are old , and you think what the duck, where it all went my kids around 40 yerars old living their own lives. so to cut myself off LOL enjoy while it last. question, how did the mortiser working out for you?
So glad you get o do this for your daughter have been a sub for about 10 years i think have so many that I sub to it's hard to remember but love your content
