Great review as always, but I think it's important to showcase some other important differences if we are going to compare with the S100. 1. This doesn't have the integrated bracelet, so this new Manta can be a strap monster. 2. Sapphire bezel and looks like better anti-reflecting coating 3. Nicer, blingier or more modern design (this is subjective) 4. Upgraded movement with Bluetooth, etc. 5. Nicer bracelet (maybe a bit busier) with adjustable clasp. 6. This Manta version has better lume than the S100. 7. The Manta may be a bit more scratch resistant since it has a sapphire bezel vs the shinny titanium bezel which shows scratch lines with time. I still prefer the simplicity of the S100, but I can appreciate this Manta for what it is. Hoping that these can go down in price in a year or so, but I'm still tempted on getting the S100. I even prefer it to the T200! I would consider this Manta in black or green. The colors and sapphire bezel makes this model too blingy, but still very cool!
And just like most Citizens, the seconds hand is hitting every marker 😅 Makes you wonder, why other manufacturers can't get it right and blame tolerances within the movement for it!
I believe most of these Oceanus models have independent motors for each hand which allows for adjustment after the hands are set. They're not geared together. More expensive I'd imagine, but it's effective. And while this model is over $700, the S100 and T100 can be had in the $350 range. If you're gonna sell a quartz at a premium price, it ought to have this feature.
@@nickfowler515 When this adjusts time at 12:14 it looks like this only has one motor for moving the minute/hour hands. My 3-motor Pro Trek will always move both minute/hour hands independently for 1+ hour change. It's awfully thin for 3 motors. I could be wrong.

I'm assuming this works the same way as the S100 in that pulling out the crown to the first position, you have an EXTREMELY easy adjustment between time zones without losing a second of accuracy. I love wearing my S100 for flights coupled with the fact that it disappears on your wrist being such a lightweight and comfortable wear.
Love those Casios and have some on my wish-list. Regarding Buyee, I learned about them from this channel and have used it to buy a few things that we can only get in Japan. I just got two JDM Seikos for basically the same price as when I saw them in Japan, with the coupons they have. For this last purchase I bought from two shops on Yahoo Auction and used Buyee's consolidation service and saved a ton on shipping too. It all worked great and the watches arrived quickly.
My doctor is a watch bro, he has a stainless allergy so has to stick with gold and titanium. Man has a solid gold Zenith, JLC and Rolex, what's his favorite watch he owns? Ti Casio Oceanus lol. It's a beautiful watch.

i'm blown away by how casio quartz hit the marks right on. i've the oceanus full on diver, a $1200 gorgeous solar/satellite control watch, and it is precisely on the markers. but i always note, i also have their $70 Marlin Duro dive watch, not a solar, and it's about 99.9% as good with hitting the markers right on. unlike seiko, which i no longer purchase from, casio is an incredible quality and QC brand.
The Tron legacy style bezel is lovely, dont know how ive missed your previous reviews or this brand Jody, had no idea there was a 'grand casio' out there. This with one of these sweeping high beat quartz movement we're seeing more of now would be epic.
i recently moved to another country, therefor i have reduce my watch collection.. all watches are gone, exept my two oceanus watches - those are just on a whole another level of greatness
Gorgeous, as all Oceanus watches are. I'd never get titanium, as I want to feel about 3lbs on my wrist if I'm paying that much, but for the crowd that feels differently, I'd for sure put this on the list. I'll stick with my white T-200 which looks almost the same (except for the colour) and has all of the functionality, but which cost me one third of the price. In fact, I think your review of the S-400 work best as an advertisement for the T-200. Thanks for the review as always; best voice on RUclips. 🔥
Got myself a Oceanus P2000, which is their ISO diver, for a pretty good price used recently. It's incredibly well finished, it's detailed, and I know it'll be perfectly reliable for the next 2 decades or so. Honestly, it's reduced my will to buy more watches (something I did quite a bit before), because I know I'm not going to get better than the P2000 unless I stump up a lot of cash, especially since I paid under £400 for it.
I have an older OCW-T2600 and it's an amazing watch. The only issue I had with it is the date alignment is wonky. There's a feature to micro adjust that but it never stays where it should. Hopefully better in these new models.
Thank you for this review bro', 👍You are the first to offer a complete review that is not in Japanese, Halleluya! I own the blue one since 4 months and I'm in love with. I own also an S100 but this one really raise the level, I was hoping for a three-hand model in the Manta range, Casio Oceanus has fulfilled my expectations. This brand is a must have. Cheers from France 🇫🇷 🤘
Jodie, great meeting you at NYC WINDUP. I love Oceanus, but if your in the United States, you can no longer get them serviced since Oceanus was pulled from the U.S. market. In order to get an Oceanus serviced. It must be sent overseas. So for $1000.00 and that service roadblock. I don't think so. Also I don't understand why Casio puts puts Casio and tough movement on the dial. It would be like Toyota putting Toyota below the Lexus name or symbol.
I was waiting for this one. I hope they start making more affordable, simpler, sub 40mm models in the oceanus line (s200? or s300?). Glad to see they have reduced the blue color highlights on the dial.
Wow what a beauty. I hate multiband 6 because its so sensitive and doesnt work well. Solar is the only quartz i will buy. Hate battery changes as the professionals always mess up my watch!
I got my S100 Oceanus a little over a month ago, and it's been my go-to watch every day. I really like the sapphire bezel on this one, but I was too cheap to spring for it. The bluetooth would be nice to have, but the S100 picks up the atomic radio signal every night unless the weather is bad.
First thought was that it looks like what you'd get if you left an S100 and T200 in a darkened room. Maybe a bit of CW 12 in there as well. Maybe a gold and red Iron Man edition?
I have a T200S-3AJF (green dial) and it's a fantastic watch. Still, since I tried titanium I've determined that it _is_ for me, and I could see rolling my T200 and another watch or 2 into a titanium Oceanus like this one (at a discount I hope??) -OR- another Eco-drive watch in titanium (since it was Citizen that sold me on titanium watches in the first place w/ the Promaster Land AT6080-53L). I'm at a point where I have "enough" watches, and buying also means selling, but that's fine. You can only love so many watches, and you also don't want to be over-invested in items that don't see much use.
These ones are actually one of the few Oceanus watches that aren't JDM exclusive, they have them listed on the US website as well. Hopefully that will make them easier to get a hold of in other places.
Beautiful, though I struggle to stomach more than $600 for a solar quartz. Citizen take the cake for me in that category with the exception of the Gshock.
I have two Oceanus watches and can verify that they are excellent in just about every aspect. This specific model, OCW-S400 was very recently released to the US market. I could go to a local AD if wanted to get one but since I already have enough Oceanus watches, I must control myself! 😂
A great GADA watch for sure if you like the slightly blingier look cf the S100 or 200. Not sure it will stay with you given you have the Chronomaster & wear it regularly. Of course Casio do the Ediface range which has some nice 3 handers for way less money (with way less tech) and the new CasioOaks have all of the tech with a very different look, at way less money. Interesting that they have got the crystal so good. I had a JDM Seiko from the early 90s with a similar piece of glass, quite unlike anything else I have ever seen. I found myself touching it regularly just to reassure myself it was still there.
Interesting when you did the side by side comparo to the Citizen Chronomaster and GS 9F GMT, the latter two watches were nearly in sync with each other, both sec hands within a sec of each other, but the Casio after it was BT synced, the sec hand appeared at least 2-3 secs fast 🤔
I have and like everything about my Oceanus except for the massive gap where the clasp joins to the bracelet. That gap makes it look like a cheap $100 watch. I've got Swiss watches from the 90s with a steel bracelet and the gap at the clasp is tight.
I always enjoy your reviews. Watch them all. Thank you! I have the t200. It does everything so well. Can't bring myself to go for a s100. Your review of the s400 has helped me to stay with the t200.
So I have no idea why the Oceanus T200 is Steel and the S100 and S400 are Titanium, but they are gorgeous. One thing I'm noticing that the S400 has that the S100 doesn't is standard lugs. The built-in endlink on the S100 rules out straps (unless someone is out there making custom ones), and I'm just not a bracelet guy.
Love these Casio reviews. Would love to see a video, comparing the finish & quality of the 3 titanium watches you have/showed us. Does the Casio compete well with the other two. Thanks Jody.
Oh man. I know it’s not worth twice the S100, but I really like the features of this one…damn it… (edit) I didn’t realize the S100 had atomic time keeping, just watched your S100 video. So I’m definitely camp S100. Thanks!
Speaking of comparisons: I can't say I like this one better than the OCW-T-200S, which has almost all the features of this one (including Bluetooth connectivity), and is less than half the price. The T-200S is stainless, but almost feels like titanium given its light weight.
If you say something is very nicely finished, I'll bite. However, the cw quartz is stunning, and I'm having a quartz comeback right now. My life is hectic, and I'm rough on movements.
Im sorry, how much?! Jody, i love your videos and my opinion is that absolutely no casio (that doesnt say g shock mudmaster triple scensor) is worth more than $200. Its a beautiful watch but it needs a threaded caseback, crown, and a swiss automatic movement for that price.
Threaded crown is not inherently better- it doesn't improve water resistance and there is the risk of crossthreading the crown or poor machining. Swiss automatics are not better than Japanese quartz across the board. It very much depends on what calibers we're talking about.
Thanks for sending me down the Oceanus rabbit hole again.....🤣 Re Buyee, something you didn't mention is that you get hit with Japan's GST as well as our own which can come as a bit of a surprise when Buyee tally up the total cost. Based on my experience, you probably need to add at least 25% on top of the purchase price to factors all the charges (GST x 2, shipping etc). Still a good service though, very happy with the 2 watches I've grabbed using them.
I've been looking for one of these used for under $600. I gave up and bought an older limited edition model that scratched the same itch. I don't think I've seen any go for under $600, unfortunately.
I had one but unfortunately the dial was warped around the indices. Huge shame because it is a really nice watch otherwise. Slim, comfortable, legible, good lume and can be sport or office.
Oceanus are really easy to switch between timezones. I can't confirm with this model, but usually when you pop the crown, the second hand will point to the city. Turn the crown to change the city, and when you push the crown back in, it'll change to the new time zone with the correct time. Pop it again, reset to the original city, and you can return to the original time. It seems easier to follow the cities in the bezel than remember GMT +5 or -6 or such.
And the Edifices too. 👌🏼 Don’t have an Oceanus yet, but my new Edifices EFR/EFB are seriously so good. ✨

I wouldn't be without my OCW-T200 Oceanus, and yes, it's thanks to your recommendation.

Love that phone finder function😄👍
S100 was incredible value for money, hope it is still available
I have and like everything about my Oceanus except for the massive gap where the clasp joins to the bracelet. That gap makes it look like a cheap $100 watch.
I've got Swiss watches from the 90s with a steel bracelet and the gap at the clasp is tight.
I always enjoy your reviews. Watch them all. Thank you! I have the t200. It does everything so well. Can't bring myself to go for a s100. Your review of the s400 has helped me to stay with the t200.
Is the caseback steel or titanium. Colour looks different
Probably steel, titanium would be a bit of a pain to engrave
So I have no idea why the Oceanus T200 is Steel and the S100 and S400 are Titanium, but they are gorgeous. One thing I'm noticing that the S400 has that the S100 doesn't is standard lugs. The built-in endlink on the S100 rules out straps (unless someone is out there making custom ones), and I'm just not a bracelet guy.
Imagine being on a date and it's time to spice things up...
Let's use that jazzy function!!!
Love these Casio reviews. Would love to see a video, comparing the finish & quality of the 3 titanium watches you have/showed us. Does the Casio compete well with the other two.
Thanks Jody.
The T200 seems to be identical, also Bluetooth, but Stainless steel. It is a light watch anyway. Golf the price as well
Charming watch, no doubt
One day Casio will make my ideal watch; a G-Shock in the style of an Explorer/Submariner, with a solar and atomic/Bluetooth movement
Not quite but approaching that : ocw-p2000
That one has some nifty tricks up its sleeve
Oh man. I know it’s not worth twice the S100, but I really like the features of this one…damn it… (edit) I didn’t realize the S100 had atomic time keeping, just watched your S100 video. So I’m definitely camp S100. Thanks!
Love my T150 !
Speaking of comparisons: I can't say I like this one better than the OCW-T-200S, which has almost all the features of this one (including Bluetooth connectivity), and is less than half the price. The T-200S is stainless, but almost feels like titanium given its light weight.
The white one is the best. agree it shouldn't be so angular and 40mm
Still can't really beat it, gey the Bluetooth one.
If you say something is very nicely finished, I'll bite.
However, the cw quartz is stunning, and I'm having a quartz comeback right now.
My life is hectic, and I'm rough on movements.
What an awesome Trio u got 🔥
These are great but that price is a little too high for me. I definitely feel that for just over 100 a lineage is a better deal
Just to confirm, the clasp has two positions? Thanks!
Yes indeed!
These are watches beloved of watch RUclipsrs. Any other brand they will slam for having a quartz movement at that price.
Threaded crown is not inherently better- it doesn't improve water resistance and there is the risk of crossthreading the crown or poor machining. Swiss automatics are not better than Japanese quartz across the board. It very much depends on what calibers we're talking about.
The plastic pallets, plastic escape wheel powermatic Swiss auto, no thank you.
Gorgeous. Grand Casio.
For me, the only thing that lets that watch down, is the case back. If it had been screw down, it would have been awesome.
So whats the differance between a 400 and a 200. Just titanium? An almost double the cost at retail for the titanium version is a bit steep IMO.
Helloooo Jody 👍🇺🇸
Sorry to display my noob proclivities, but I cannot get my GMT hand on either of my Pagani watches to keep time. Any tips or tricks you can share?
Hello, good afternoon and welcome to the show.
✌🏻👱🏻♂️✌🏻
What is the exact difference between the t200 and the s400 that justify the price difference?
Thanks for sending me down the Oceanus rabbit hole again.....🤣 Re Buyee, something you didn't mention is that you get hit with Japan's GST as well as our own which can come as a bit of a surprise when Buyee tally up the total cost. Based on my experience, you probably need to add at least 25% on top of the purchase price to factors all the charges (GST x 2, shipping etc). Still a good service though, very happy with the 2 watches I've grabbed using them.
I’m in USA and there wasn’t any tax. Buyee charged me $5 for the service and international shipping was $33, insured. I was expecting more fees.
So it's a JDM product but according to its cashback it is also CE marked and thus legal to sell in the EU?
It looks fantastic.
what’s the use of the world cities bezel ??
Oceanus are really easy to switch between timezones. I can't confirm with this model, but usually when you pop the crown, the second hand will point to the city. Turn the crown to change the city, and when you push the crown back in, it'll change to the new time zone with the correct time. Pop it again, reset to the original city, and you can return to the original time. It seems easier to follow the cities in the bezel than remember GMT +5 or -6 or such.
Looks like videos don’t do enough justice. It looks just like one of the Casio Aqua Terras - EFV-100/140/150 ..
That's a beautiful watch! I don't like the price! I believe it's worth half.
