This is blast from the past! I used to watch your tutorials when I was learning guitar, I am now in a band and have been playing for five years! I couldn't have done this without you man :)
Hi! I'm a beginner who has learned a lot from your lessons. Can you please teach "Seven Day Mile" by The Frames? I love the song and cannot find a good tutorial. Thanks!
I found it difficult to comprehend, maybe because I'm a beginner but what troubled me was the first E string, I'm not sure if you adjusted the note of it butttt it just doesn't cooperate with my standard tuning 😵 that caused most of the confusion roadblocks for me :") but otherwise in the end the tutorial was good. just the roadblock that drove me to a trauma
If you go a bit slower on explaining the finger placement and finger picking for each new chord that would do wonders for the tutorial. Overall good but you did run through finger placement a bit too quickly
You can turn the video speed waaaay down. There is a gear looking icon. Click that and it has 75%, 50%, and 25% speeds to choose from. If it doesn't have the gear, look for the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and drop down and select playback speed. Your post is 2 years old, I'm just noticing. I'll bet you now know about this feature. :)
Great video, thank you. It really helped me--the fingerpicking and strumming. And I found this great simple performance he did in the Netherlands, just with him on guitar, and it shows things pretty well. I can't past the link here for some reason but it's from user FACECULTURE. On that video he does something different in the Bridge. You went from Am to G to F (strings 6 3 1). But I can't understand because the voice sings an E which clashes pretty hard to that F, a minor 2nd away... ? (on the Faceculture video I think he goes strings 6 3 2 3 F,G,C,G)
I just want to ask you, I find it sooo hard to stretch my finger over to the low E string and my question is, will that get easier as I keep playing guitar just like barre chords or something like that, or is it a matter of my hand size as I'm just nearly 13. I've been playing guitar for about 2 years but only in the last year I've started finger picking and whenever that comes up in a song I just can't seem to get the hang of it! Thanks
Hi Raymond, those are some fine suggestions. The Wicked Flee is a wonderful instrumental. I remember it from True Grit, but it's even better without the visuals.
Sir, I have recently watched a video of yours and I really learnt a lot from it....I want to play the song "don't look back in anger" by OASIS...So I want to present a request to u...please show me how to do it.
it looks dead similar to mine, everything is the same except for the wood color behind the guitar. I've got a yamaha, maybe it's part of the FG series too??? don't take my word for it, idk much about guitars
i hate when you need to use thumb, is it okay to drop the thumb because my finger cant impossible do that, i can do bar chords but this my hand is to small.
Hey Mathew, already one step ahead on this one. Check these out: ruclips.net/video/7PTdNznSeiM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/8VrdCzCH8o8/видео.html Keep on playing.
Important thing missing: On the original, before each refrain the full F is played only part of the way, switching to a (small) F less finger 2 (2nd fret of 2nd string). Very important for the transition back to the C when the refrain starts.
A Little advice you don't have to get to that f High note. The female Singer does it lower and it sounds great as well check the song out un that part and try to hit marketing note besides gleen's

Hello. Ok, I'll have a listen. I watched a lot of the Glasto coverage this year. I'm hoping to get a ticket for next year.
